@bateaux

bateaux is an amazing writer on Wattpad, having written books such as 'Railroads' which has 319k reads and '7:23' which had 231k reads. I'm also getting massive book cover envy from their account I mean look at how amazing these covers are!

Anyway, this is my interview with them, and this is what they had to say!

Why did you start writing on Wattpad?

I've always enjoyed writing stories, and used to email them to my friends, so when I was introduced to Wattpad, it seemed like the perfect platform to share my work!

What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?

One of my proudest moments was when Anchorage got featured in Teen Fiction back in October. But I have little proud moments every day, mostly when people tell me they can connect and relate to my characters, or that my book has helped them in some way, because that's what every writer wants to hear, and it makes the experience so much more meaningful!

Which book has been the most fun to write?

Blackout is a lot a fun because it's a mystery, which I've never written before, and it challenges me. On the other hand, 7:23am is enjoyable because it's quick and easy, and it's infused with a lot of my own humour so it feels quite natural.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Everywhere! Movies, TV shows, other books, the news, photographs, people...pretty much anything you can think of. Inspiration is really random and can strike at the strangest times.

Do you plan on writing anymore books?

Oh, yes! I honestly can't imagine a day in the future where I won't have about a million story ideas. So much to write, so little time.

What's the hardest part about writing on Wattpad?

Comparison is a killer. I love that Wattpad is community full of people with like interests, but it can be hard not to get down on yourself when reading other stories. It can also be quite annoying when readers are hounding you for updates, especially when you're not motivated to work on anything.

And finally, what advice would give to a new writer on Wattpad?

Keep going! Write because you love it, not for popularity. Nothing happens overnight. The only way to get better at something is to continue to work at it, so write away!

That was my lovely interview with bateaux !

Okay I have a question for you: should I keep on doing interviews with people? Is anyone even reading anymore? I have a few more interviews in drafts, and I know lots of people are commenting people. But do you want anymore interviews? And who would you MOST like to see interviewed?
