Meet the Star: HeadphonesAndLuck
When I was a kid I was into fairytales and roleplaying. What pushed me into publishing the first chapter of Gods for Rent in Wattpad was this bet I had with my crush and my penchant for showing off. I fell in love with the magic of writing along the way and it was the best thing ever.
Through my crush! She's a writer, too, and I made an account to support her stories!
The Seven-Minute Semblance series! Aside from the fun and the adventure that I've had whilst killing off characters, the SMS series gave me an escape from reality and had been a lifesaver countless times. That story, despite not being of the fantasy genre, had introduced me to magic.
Interacting with witty readers and reading this one comment explaining to another reader why my character behaved like he did in the story. It was at that moment that I felt like my characters were alive to the readers. Readers can understand my children as if they were real human people living in our world and I felt accomplished.
I want my readers to know that writing my stories is the only reason why I'm still here. It's that special to me, and somehow, I hope that even if I'm not in the Hemmingway scale of being memorable, readers would remember that I exist whenever a memory of any of my stories brushes by them.
Being a writer is the closest to magic a person could ever experience! I could never shut up about how colourful and wonderful the world explodes into whenever I write and think about the worlds that I have. So go on your own adventure because you deserve to live a magical life.
"The Online Profile of a Serial Killer" by IanTuason. This was one of the first story I've ever read on Wattpad and I, being a naïve 15-year-old who thought everything on the story's real, was massively floored. It suspends readers in a fine line between reality and fiction and I remember sitting there, reading and being all like, "Why hasn't this author been arrested yet?" And now that I'm older I knew it was just brilliant storytelling.
I would be lying if I said that one of the things I like about the program is not the Star badge (I'm a simple human person, I see sparkly things, I like and sparkle with them). But I like the opportunities that come with it the most: being a part of a community that continuously teaches and trains their members, being able to mingle with the cool kids and my Wattpad senpais, and learning from the professionals and veterans of writing.
