Meet the Star: blackpearled

Poetry and Music. It all started with rhyming words at the age of eleven when I was trying to compose a song/lyrics through the influence of my favourite artists.

It's around January 2014 when I was watching TV and the trailer of Diary ng Panget came out. I still had no idea what Wattpad is about when the voice over mentioned that it came from a Wattpad novel so I tried asking my cousin--who was studying at that time while I was already working-- about it. She told me it's an app where I can read and write stories for free. That moment she said it, I looked back at the stories I wrote in my laptop but never got to share in public. It took me probably a week or two to decide to create an account.

TDHBR might be my most read, but the story I am proudest to accomplish was While on the Other Side. All of my anger, frustration and doubts about myself and in life were summarized in that whole story and finishing it until its very last was such a relieving moment. After typing the last line, literal na huminga ako nang malalim at naibsan ang bigat sa dibdib ko. Also because it's the heaviest story I wrote and ending it is bittersweet. Somehow, I missed the characters, at the same time I hate to look back at the pain I've felt while writing it.

My favourite experience is interacting with readers especially when they send messages and share their thoughts about my stories as well as their own experiences. It's just overwhelming at the same time humbling how there's a foundation of trust as they share a piece of themselves and on how they can relate to my characters. It makes everything really special for me, the bond and the trust they give to you. :)

One thing my readers I want to know is that some characters are inspired from real people I met in real life.

Don't stop. Finish your story and continue writing even when there's little to no reads. We all start from the ground. But most importantly, write because you love to, either you want to express yourself or you just couldn't sleep without getting into that next chapter.

I don't read nowadays but way back when I still do, one of the stories that I always come back to and might reread if I have time is Montello High. So yes, I would still recommend it lalo na sa mga bago pa lamang sa Wattpad.

Aside from the opportunities, I also love the fact that we get to know other authors and interact with them. And the way this program inspires healthy and positive environment among writers and giving each a moment to shine not just through the spotlight but the encouragement received that for sure is well deserved.

Haven't been in anything, but hopefully win a Watty Award. Hahaha!
