Ivojovi's Question & Answer

"Hey, it's me, ivojovi. ivojovi of Wattpad. Don't adjust your... whatever device you're reading this on. It's me, live and on paper."
//Tape 1// GET TO KNOW ME!
@emoticat // Ano po real name nito Ms. Author? (What's your real name Ms. Author?)
My real name is Jovi (:
@Harasonara // Have you been in New York ate?
Never been in the US. I just did a lot of research for the book.
//Tape 2// HOW IT ALL STARTED
@ElyenGirl // When did you start writing, aside from Wattpad?
@katrynna___ // Why did you choose to write your own story/s instead of reading other stories?
I'll just flat-out tell you that I used to hate reading! I also had no interest in writing. Haha. Unexpectedly, a friend recommended me to try Wattpad. She said that I get to read free books without the need to purchase online and in paperback. From there, I joined in 2013 and became a lurker – no activities like voting on a story or doing reading lists and no interactions from anyone. I was just there to read and add more stories to my private library. After about a year, that's when I decided to try writing my own because I had a story idea.
@rootiful // Why did you write The Other CEO?
@yentrovert // How did you come up with The Other CEO's plot?
I wrote The Other CEO because I wanted to try writing – if I had what it takes. Basically, it started out just for fun that turned into a little secret hobby of mine. I only had an idea with what the story was about but I never really made a plot. As I wrote The Other CEO, the next plot was only created usually after I made a chapter.
HOW DID YOU DO IT?
@yentrovert // How did you end up with that kind of plot? (The Other CEO's plot) was there an inspiration behind it?
@ElyenGirl // What's your inspiration in writing The Other CEO?
@louisebiance // Who's your inspiration while writing The Other CEO?
Thinking about it now, it's funny when the inspiration came from The Amazing Spiderman 2 movie. Norman Osborn, the owner of Oscorp, was dying from an illness. His son, Harry Osborn was summoned by his father so that he could take over his position before he died. Harry worked with a secretary that was loyal to him. They didn't have any romantic interest with one another, just a mutual understanding that they have to run the company as a team. It sparked an idea because I wanted them to be together. Hence, The Other CEO. Lol. I was inspired by the characters. They needed a separate story.
@diaryctioner // Ano po ang inspirasyon niyo na magsulat? May pinaghuhugutan po ba kayo sa stories niyo? (What is your inspiration in writing? Where do you get your ideas from your stories?)
My mind usually works at night after everyone is asleep. I need a quiet and comfortable place to do my work, good music and chocolate! It helps me think and work on some ideas. I usually like to read and watch romantic stories. It helps me imagine more unique scenes and create dialogues.
@dyosangnerd24 // What's the hard part of being an author?
It's tough and sad to see when your work or idea has been copied, especially if it's word for word and they claim that it's their original work. I also hate having writer's block!
@purplewater // Have you ever experienced having writer's block? If yes, what did you do to overcome it?
@SazuuukiHan // Noong nag start po kayong magsulat ng 'The Other CEO', hindi po ba kayo nakaramdam ng boredom? (When you started writing the 'The Other CEO', did you ever feel bored?
@DayolaRodriguez // When you were writing the story, did you somehow had a mid-crisis? And what is it like, for example, did you almost surrender on writing or continuing the story or you stopped writing he story because you did not have enough ideas to complete it? If it's neither of the two, just state another reason if you had a mid-crisis.
Yes, a million times yes! There were times that I wanted to stop writing The Other CEO because I couldn't think of what to write next or how am I supposed to end it or the scene I imagined in my head was too detailed that words could no longer express how it will all turn out. Sometimes, I worry too much about my word count that it stresses me out. Describing a scene is actually challenging since you need to use your senses to create that feel in that certain environment. Other times, I would get too excited for this particular scene that I didn't want to write the scene that comes before it. It easily makes me feel bored and uninspired. How to overcome it? Just reflect on it when you're out to get some fresh air and do it slowly, writing a few paragraphs per day can actually help you finish a chapter.
@jeanxz // Ano po driving force niyo sa pagsusulat at pagtatapos ng "The Other CEO" in such a nice and successful way? (What's your driving force when you write and finish "The Other CEO" in such a nice and successful way?)
@miss_griffin // What is your motivation when you write?
@ElyenGirl // What's your motivation when you write? Because, you know, sometimes ideas are hard to come out.
I wanted to challenge myself to write and finish a story. It was a personal goal that I wanted to achieve. I just kept on writing until the story ended which took more than a year to complete. There will always be a time when I wanted to just leave it and get on with my life, though it kept on pulling me to continue.
//Tape 3// TIPS AND TRICKS
@queenleyyahh // How do you deal with criticism?
I usually just ignore it when they only say negative comments about my book. But if it's constructive, then I would learn from it (:
@riahwinchester // What advice do you have for aspiring writers?
The only simple advice that I could give is to just keep writing. Don't think about getting instant fame, a thousand of readers or a million reads. Focus on yourself and work on your story. If you get haters, ignore them! If they try to bring you down, ignore them! Only accept comments that could help you be a better writer. It's okay to dream big. But of course, before you make it to the top, you have to start at the bottom.
//Tape 4// FUTURE PLANS
Acee Mary // I'm wishing for The Other CEO Part 2. Is it possible?
@maylin79 // I really love The Other CEO. Is there a chance for the sequel? Thanks!
@crizababe // Would there be a story for the second generation (Pierce & Olivia's kid(s)? Is it possible?
So sorry guys! But I have no plans on creating a sequel. They are already inside their own happy bubble. We'll just leave it at that, heh.
@Mschocolatedream // 'Yung sa The Other CEO: Extras ate dadagdagan mo pa po ba yung POV ni Pierce? Kinikilig kasi ako sa kanya. (Are you going to add more POVs of Pierce in The Other CEO: Extras?)
Hmm, I don't have plans for now. But we'll never know! I actually made a POV of Charlie. If you want to read it, you can inbox me for the link.
@nicalognics // Kung sakaling magka time kayo, gagawan niyo po ba ng bagong generation na related sa TOC? Halimbawa po sa side characters magkakastory ba sila o ang mga magiging anak nila. More stories to come the merrier. (If you have time, are you going to be making a spin-off of a new generation that's related to TOC? Example, side characters or their children?)
Yes! I'm plan to make a spin-off titled The Other Knight after I finish Scar. It's Sab and Jonny's story. I made one chapter a few months back. If you want to read it, you can inbox me for the link.
@crizababe // Do you have any plan to write a story with dark/erotic plot?
Scar is somewhat a dark story. I still haven't reached that part where something happens to the main character. It's going to cause a lot of drama. You'll find out soon enough :P As for an erotic plot, I'm not that ready yet. But the idea is not off the table.
//Tape 5// THE OTHER CEO
@ShutUpAngelixa // What's your favorite scene in The Other CEO?
My favorite scene was when Hugh yelled, "Babe, who is it?" when Olivia answered the door and saw Pierce standing on their doorway.
@crizababe // Say after 15 years of Pierce and Olivia's marriage, how many kids could they have?
I imagine them to only have 3 kids.
@jalen_abrogar // Walang feelings ang mas nadevelop ni Hugh kay Olivia? Hahaha. Magkababata kasi. (Did Hugh develop any feelings for Olivia?)
Lol, I don't think he would. He bats the other team.
@frnchskam // Meron po ba talagang Manila paper sa New York? (It was said that the package for Pierce is covered with Manila paper. Na ba-bother lang po kasi ako. This isn't supposed to be a joke, but you find it funny then I have no say on that hahaha) (Do they really have Manila paper in New York?)
This is the most interesting question, lol. I was actually referring to the material of the paper used. It's made from Manila hemp or abaca. I've seen them mentioning Manila envelopes in movies.
//End of tape//
Thank you so much for tuning in! I had a lot of fun answering them. I love you all ❤❤❤
