Junko: And YoRHa Unit 2B, the combat android of NieR: Automata.

Kokonoe: The stage is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

Noctis was standing on a giant flying airship. He stood his ground as 2B hovered and landed behind him.

Pod 042: Mission... eliminate the king of Lucis.

2B: Yes... I'm aware.

2B grabbed at her sword as Noctis turned to face her.

Noctis: Heh, do you really think you stand a chance against me?

2B: Won't hurt to try.

2B was the first to strike. She swung her small sword, but Noctis summoned his sword and blocked it. 2B quickly grabbed her bigger sword and swung it, but Noctis threw another blade and teleported out the way to avoid her attack. He summoned a gun and started shooting bullets at 2B, but she was dodging the bullets and had Pod 042 shoot back at him. They were both dodging each other's projectiles when Pod042 fired a huge blast of energy. Noctis summoned a shield to block the blast as 2B went to strike him from behind.

2B: Gotcha!

She swung her sword, but Noctis summoned a blade of his own and swung it, knocking 2B back a bit. Noctis swung his sword again, but 2B dodged it with perfect timing as time slowed down for Noctis.

Noctis: W...What...?

2B pulled out a pair of Samurai head gauntlets and punched his head straight into the ground.

2B: Take this!

She went for another punch, but Noctis quickly teleported out the way. Her Pod was right behind him as it shocked him with electricity.

Noctis: Geh!

2B was about to swing her sword at him but stopped as she noticed the cloudy skies.

Pod 043: Warning. Heavy thunder approaching.

2B: Tch!

She quickly jumped off the airship as Noctis unleashed a huge bolt of lightning that caused the ship to blow up and fall. Noctis quickly threw a sword down at 2B, who quickly went to try and block it. However, as soon as she attempted to, Noctis had teleported in front of her, grabbed the sword, and swung it again. Sending 2B crashing straight into a grassy plane. She quickly recovered as Noctis went for a downward slash. 2B flipped back to dodge it. She then went for a swing of her own, but a strong, cold wind blew her away as Noctis was summoning a blizzard. 2B landed on her feet and looked up at him.

2B: Dame!

A holographic screen appeared in front of her as someone was on it.

2B: Unit 2B to 6O! Requesting permission for YoRHa Flight Unit!

6O: Unit 6O here! Permission granted! Flight Unit is on its way!

As the screen disappeared, Noctis flipped a ring to the air and caught it.

Noctis: Hmph.

He put it on as he got a huge boost in power. He dashed at 2B and unleashed a burst of darkness, but that 2B was only a hologram.

Noctis: What?!

The real 2B was right behind him as she went for a swing of her sword. Noctis saw this coming and phased through the attack, inflicting holy magic onto 2B and burning her before kicking her back.

2B: ah!

2B looked down and quickly jumped to the side as Noctis erupted a giant explosion from underneath her. She dashed back at him and he went to punch her, but she quickly dodged and kicked him back. Noctis was quick to recover as he summoned a giant, blake-hole-like gate that started sucking everything in. 2B quickly stabbed her sword into the ground to prevent herself from getting sucked in, but Noctis ran towards her and kicked her off. She was almost sucked in until Pod 042 caught her and flew away from the portal.

2B: That was too close...

The pod landed her right near a flight unit and she quickly got inside and flew into the air. Noctis had looked up and immediately saw this.

Noctis: Hmph, thought you could escape me?

Noctis had summoned all 13 of his Royal Arms and flew after her. He launched three swords at her fast.

Pod 043: Enemy projectiles incoming.

2B: Yes, I can see that!

2B pulled out her saber and swung it, swatting the swords away. Noctis teleported to one of them and went for a downward slash at her. She immediately saw this and swung her saber as they both clashed and pushed each other back. 2B launched a barrage of energy bullets at him and Noctis easily dodged. He summoned a giant shuriken and threw it at 2B and she had dodged that as well. He teleported behind her and swung it again as it stabbed the mech's arm.

2B: Tch!

2B fired a giant blast and Noctis dodged it as he flew up at her. She quickly swung her saber and Noctis blocked it but was sent crashing to the ground hard enough to make a crater. He recovered quickly as he was getting exhausted.

Noctis: Dame... running out of magic...

He looked up to see 2B firing more projectiles.

Noctis: Why you... don't mock me!

Noctis summoned even more weapons and sent them flying, blocking the projectiles and going straight for 2B. She quickly jumped out of the Flight Unit as it was immediately destroyed.

2B: Pod!

Pod 045: Affirmative.

As 2B was falling, the pod summoned a barrier that blocked all the flying swords.

2B: Just... die already!

2B summoned a sword of her own and landed right on top of Noctis. She quickly went to stab him, but Noctis caught the blade and summoned a knife as he tried to stab her in return. She quickly caught his arm, making him only manage to cut off her blindfold.

2B: GAAAAH!!!

2B then self-destructed on top of him, creating a huge explosion that wiped out everything around them. Once the dust settled and everything was in black and white, 2B stood up. Ste was extremely injured and staggering as her clothes were disintegrated. She looked down at the ashes Noctis had become as a screen appeared in front of her.

6O: 6O to 2B. Is everything alright?

2B: 2B here... yeah... mission accomplished...

Ann: Wait huh?! I thought for sure Noctis had this in the bag!

Junko: Hold up! As much as I want Final Fantasy fans busting down the door with pitchforks hear me out before attempting murder.

Kokonoe: As far as stats go, Noctis had the clear strength advantage and they both were around even when it came to speed. But 2B had plenty of ways to work around this.

Junko: Yeah, 2B had plenty of ways to slow Noctis down, giving her more of an edge in speed.

Kokonoe: And while his ability to teleport could keep 2B guessing, it's also somewhat 2B has dealt with in the past already. Especially after her fight with the likes of Adam and Eve.

Ann: Not to mention Noctis had a limit on how much magic power he could use while 2B had no such issue. Not just that, but her blindfold allowed her to see Noctis' stats at any time. So all she needed to do was wait until he used up all his magic so she could deal the final blow.

Junko: Making his victory nothing more than a fantasy.

Kokonoe: The winner is YoRHa Unit 2B.

Junko: Next time on Death Battle!
