Kokonoe: The story of Mewtwo has quite a few versions, but they all start off the same. Before Mewtwo, there was Mew, the ancestor of all Pokémon.

Junko: On a certain day in July, the criminal organization known as Team Rocket found Mew and managed to acquire one of its eyelashes. They hired scientists, among them the Gym Leader Blaine and the Lavender Town elder Mr. Fuji, to use said eyelash to clone Mew and create the most powerful Pokémon alive.

Kokonoe: They succeeded, but due to events that happened during his creation, whether it being the death of AmberTwo, the death of Mr. Fuji, or horrifying genetic experiments and the failure to give him a compassionate heart, Mewtwo became vengeful and savage. Mewtwo was unable to be controlled, and therefore went on a rampage, destroying the lab he was created in and killing a majority of the scientists in it. His escape led him to Cerulean Cave...

Ann: And his story went on from there!

Ann: Mewtwo was arrogant and merciless, being very distrustful of humans. This toned down after he switched to the good side though.

Kokonoe: He's a master strategist and tactician, even going as far as creating technology far beyond the human level in only 3 years.

Junko: This makes sense. He is a psychic Pokémon after all.

Junko: He can move things with his mind, hypnotize living beings, see the future, fly, teleport, predict his opponents movement, wipe memories clean, and sooo much more!

Kokonoe: Right. Mewtwo isn't the strongest for nothing.

Ann: He's strong enough to lift an entire lake and match a charging Ryhorn, which can topple skyscrapers! He even gored a Deoxys through its crystal! And Deoxys' crystals, which is harder than the planet itself!

Kokonoe: He constantly fights legendary Pokémon, often matching them. He's even survived re-entry into Earths atmosphere. He can easily out muscle human and even matched Omega Charizard X in physical strength.

Junko: He has plenty of abilities in his arsenal. He can copy any stat boost made by his opponent and force his own stats onto his targets. One of his signature moves is his Shadow Ball.

Junko: A ghost-type projectile with a 20% chance of lowering his opponents defenses!

Kokonoe: His other is Psystrike, which let's him strike his opponents with psychic energy.

Ann: He can even use a spoon!

Ann: Yeah, that's a thing. A spoon that he can create and dissolve at will. He can use it as a staff or to break through solid objects.

Junko: He can also use Aura Sphere!

Junko: A fighting type move that manifests his aura into a ball and fires it like a projectile! It's also a move that can't miss, just like his other ability, Swift!

Junko: Where he fires magical stars that home in on his opponent!

Ann: He can also make shields.

Ann: These shields act as bubbles to protect Mewtwo, dispelling damage rather than deflecting it. It's dispelled every Pokémon attack thrown at it as well as machines designed to surpass it.

Kokonoe: He can also make telekinetic barriers to boost his defense. But if that doesn't work, he can always use Recover.

Kokonoe: Which let's him heal minor injuries. He also has a move called Heal Pulse, where he emits a blast of energy to heal his allies.

Junko: That would be useless, if he didn't have an army of around like 151 artificially made Pokémon, each twice as strong as their original counterparts.

Ann: Mewtwo can use Psyco Cut.

Ann: Where he fires a crescent-shaped blade projectile made out of psychic energy. 

Kokonoe: Or Psywave which releases psychic waves or rings as projectiles. It can cause some serious damage and leave horrible sounds in the head.

Junko: He has a resistance to fighting and psychic type moves. It's honestly surprising he doesn't have Psyblast... but he does have Hyper Beam.

Junko: Because this is definitely a psychic type move. One that lets you fire a giant burst of fire.

Ann: He can also use Ice Beam... which let's him fire a beam of ice. Oh, but he has Hurricane!

Ann: Yeah, I think this one speaks for itself.

Junko: He can already make massive hurricanes with a few swipes of his hand, and he's tied with Rayquaza for having the highest base stat totals!

Kokonoe: However, he's still capable of becoming even stronger, as he's the only Pokémon who can Mega Evolve without a trainor.

Junko: He actually has two Mega Evolutions, X and Y!

Kokonoe: Both have power that far exceeds that of their base form. But both work in different ways.

Junko: Mewtwo X is a physical tank that can take out defensive beast like Steelix and Shuckle in as little as one hit! You could say he's the... One Punch Pokémon?

Ann: Ugh... well, Mewtwo Y is more about speed and an increase of his already enormous psychic power. Letting him escape Earth and go into outer space while carrying a Genesect that weights over 200 pounds!

Kokonoe: Mewtwo's power is so immense, it's second only by Arceus, whose basically a god.

Junko: There's also Shadow Mewtwo... but that's in a tier of its own so we won't go deep into that.

Kokonoe: Still, Mewtwo may be strong but he's not unbeatable.

Kokonoe: As stated earlier, Mewtwo is arrogant and distrustful of humans. And him being a psychic type makes him weak to dark, ghost, and bug type moves.

Ann: And unless he's using his Mega Evolution X form, he doesn't exactly have that strong of a physical durability. It actually decreases when he turns to Mega Evolution Y.

Junko: And even with all this, there's nothing stopping him from being one of the most dominant Pokémon out there!

Kokonoe: As Dr.Fuji once stated, they were trying to make the strongest Pokémon... and they succeeded.

Mewtwo: "I was not born a Pokémon, I was created! And my Creators have used and betrayed me! So, I stand alone!"
