Kokonoe: The arena is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

In a prison within the snowy mountains, a bunch of ruckus was going on inside.

Litchi: "Professor Kokonoe! Azrael is escaping through the front door!"

Kokonoe: " *sigh*... just let him go..."

Litchi: "What?!"

As she said that, Azrael had broken down the doors to the entrance of the prison as he still had his handcuffs on. Outside in the snow, however, Kenpachi stood facing him.

Kenpachi: The Soul Society sent me here to deal with a pest. I guess that's you?

Azrael: Hm?

Azrael looked around.

Azrael: ... I can't see you... nor can I hear you...

He smiled and looked right at him as he broke the handcuffs.

Azrael: But I can definitely smell you... and your thirst for battle.

Kenpachi noticed this and smiled as well.

Kenpachi: I see... so that's why they wanted me for this. Hehe... I'm getting real excited now.

Azrael: So what are you supposed to be? Some sort of Grimm Reaper?

Kenpachi: I guess you could say that...

Azrael: Hmph. Not that it matters.

Both Kenpachi and Azrael dashed at each other. Kenpachi swung his sword as Azreal swung his fist and they both clashed, creating a giant shockwave around them. Azreal went for a heavy punch to Kenpachi's gut, sending him straight through a mountain. Kenpachi quickly recovered as Azrael dashed after him and went for a heavy punch. Kenpachi dodged it and swung his sword, but it barely pierced his skin.

Azrael: Heh, did you actually think you could hurt me like that? My body is tougher than steel-

Suddenly, Kenpachi swung his sword and cut his chest open. Almost surprised by this, Azrael got back.

Azrael: What?

Kenpachi: Why didn't you say so sooner? If you had, I would have cut you as if I were cutting steel.

Azrael: Tch! Gusav Buster!

Azrael quickly punched Kenpachi straight in the face. The punch was infused with dark energy as it sent Kenpachi flying again. He quickly caught himself in midair as he was laughing and grabbed onto his eyepatch.

Kenpachi: Well what do you know?! I actually felt that!

He ripped off his eyepatch and swung his sword with both hands, sending a giant shockwave at Azrael, who sensed it coming and smiled.

Azrael: Heheheh... Worthless!

Azrael absorbed the shockwave and sent it straight back at him in the form of a giant fireball that blew up in Kenpachi's face. Kenpachi flew straight out of the explosion and down towards Azreal, who went for an upward punch. Kenpachi responded with a downward slash and they both clashed as Azrael went for a punch with his other fist. Kenpachi dodged it and swung his sword, knocking Azrael back. Kenpachi went for another swing, but before he could Azreal punched him in the gut.

Azrael: Tiger!

He kicked Kenpachi up in the air and waited for him to fall in front of him.

Azrael: Magnum!

Before he could land, Azrael hit Kenpachi with an extremely potent clothesline punch that sent Kenpachi back hard. Kenpachi landed on his feet as Azrael jumped in the air.

Azrael: Fall Apart!

He slammed himself to the ground and Kenpachi quickly dodged as a giant crater grew from under them.

Azrael: Get out of here!

He then went for a kick fused with dark energy and Kenpachi went to block it but was still knocked back. Azrael then charged at him.

Azrael: Soar!

He then went for a darkness-infused, table-flipping motion strike that sent Kenpachi flying into the air. He then jumped up after him.

Azrael: Oraa!

He went for a mid-air strike, but Kenpachi caught it and threw him back into the ground.

Kenpachi: Gyahahaha!

He went for a downward swing and Azrael quickly dodged his strike as Kenpachi landed on the ground. He went to punch Kenpachi but it was easily dodged. He went for another, but Kenpachi caught it and kneed Azrael in the gut.

Kenpachi: Come on. Your moves are predictable... it's pathetic.

He grabbed Azrael by the head and threw him straight into a giant chunk of rock. Azrael started to get up.

Azrael: Damn you... Don't underestimate me! Enchant Dragunov... Level 2... Release!

Kenpachi: Hm?

Azrael suddenly unleashed a huge burst of power and unleashing so much dark energy it got Kenpachi excited.

Kenpachi: Alright, now this is what I'm talking about!

Kenpachi unleashed a huge burst of spiritual energy as everything around them was being blown away. The two of them dashed at each other. Azrael went for a punch and Kenpachi swung his sword as they both clashed and caused a huge explosion that turned the snowy mountains into a crimson wasteland. They both jumped back excited.

Azrael: Let's have some fun!

Kenpachi: After you!

They dashed at each other again. Kenpachi swung his blade, but Azrael dodged his strike and went for a powerful uppercut. Kenpachi stood his ground with a grin and hit Azrael with a punch of his own, sending him straight into a giant boulder. Azrael recovered with a smile as he grabbed the boulder, jumped into the air, and threw it straight down at him. Kenpachi jumped up at it.

Kenpachi: Drink...Nozarachi!

His sword started to change as he swung it, blowing the entire boulder into smithereens. Azrael landed and looked up. He could only sense Kenpachi's increased power as Kenpachi himself was holding a giant war clever. He flew straight down and swung it as Azrael used his arms to block Kenpachi's strike. The clash caused a huge shockwave as blood ran down Azrael's arms and he pushed him back.

Azrael: Looks like you got an upgrade... let's see if it's enough!

Azrael dashed at him and Kenpachi swung his sword. Azrael went to block it as he was sent back hard and Kenpachi dashed after him, going for another swing. Azrael dodged his attack and charged forward.

Azrael: Your flesh and bones...

He hit Kenpachi with a heavy punch and sent him flying.

Azrael: Will know the true meaning of power!!!

Kenpachi recovered and slid on his feet.

Kenpachi: The hell are you talking about?! Power is just power! And all we will ever need!

He swung his clever into the ground and made a gigantic earthquake. Azrael quickly jumped up and went for a downward punch. Kenpachi swung his clever and they clashed, creating a giant shockwave as Azrael landed behind him. Kenpachi went to swing his clever again but Azrael dodged it, causing him to only manage to cut open Azrael's chest. Azrael dashed at him again.

Azrael: Only the fittest will survive! Accept your fate!

Kenpachi: You talk too much!

Kenpachi went to swing his clever, but before he could, Azrael punched him in the chest and sent a huge burst of energy through his body. Just moments after, Kenpachi coughed and fell to the ground.

Azrael: ... Get up... I won't say it again...

Kenpachi went to slowly look up as he saw Yachiru right in front of him.

Yachiru: C'mon... get up. Don't you know what time it is?

Kenpachi reached out his hand and Yachiru took it.

Yachiru: It's time... Bankai

Suddenly, a huge burst of power unleashed from Kenpachi's body as it knocked Azrael back. He sensed the newfound power and smiled.

Azrael: So that's how it is?! In that case... Enchant Dragnuv, all limiters released!

Azrael had his own boost in power as Kenpachi had transformed into an Oni-like monster.

Azrael: C'mon!!!

Kenpachi dashed at Azrael and swung his blade and Azrael quickly dodged it, but Kenpachi managed to grab him by the face and throw him into a large chunk of rubble. Kenpachi jumped up and went for a downward slash but Azrael hit him with a heavy punch that sent Kenpachi back hard. Kenpachi quickly recovered and slid on his feet as Azrael charged after him and went for a barrage of punches. Kenpachi was taking those punches and started swinging his sword, creating blade wounds all over Azrael's body. The two then started clashing fist to blade multiple times, creating giant shockwaves with each clash before Azrael finally grabbed Kenpachi and started running him through giant chunks of rubble. Kenpachi quickly burst out of Azrael's hold and threw him hard into the ground. Azrael started to recover and Kenpachi dashed at him and went to swing his sword, but right before he could, his arm chattered as his body began to break under pressure. Azrael grabbed him by the head and slammed him into the ground, creating a giant crater. 

Azrael: What's wrong? That all you got?!

He started to slowly lift the ground from under Kenpachi.

Azrael: Haaah... Haaah! ... Raaagh!

He sent the ground and Kenpachi flying high into the sky. Azrael watched as they fell towards him.

Azrael: You're in luck! I'm about to show you... the ultimate death!

Azrael punched the ground under Kenpachi that caused a huge explosion, chattering the chunk of rock and completely annihilating Kenpachi Zaraki. Once the explosion cooled, Azrael was the last man standing.

Azrael: Haa... Haa... Aha... Ahahaha! That was fun! Who's next?!

Junko: Wow! Guess this is the result of putting together two behemoths who just love to fight!

Ann: Yeah, this fight was a lot closer than originally anticipated. Azrael couldn't exactly see Kenpachi and his predictable fighting style made it easy for Kenpachi to predict his moves.

Junko: That leaves Azrael to having to rely solely on sensing Kenpachi's presence, which he's already done in the past. Plus, there wasn't really anything Kenpachi had that Azrael hadn't already dealt with.

Kokonoe: Right. Even with his Bankai and Shikai, which can cut through almost anything, isn't all so new to Azrael. And even with Kenpachi's speed and strength advantage, Azrael can close the gap by releasing his limiters.

Junko: In the end the Death God got ate by the Mad Dog.

Kokonoe: The winner is Azrael.

Junko: Next time on Death Battle!
