Gilgamesh is the true king of Death Battle (Part One)
Name: Archer, Gilgamesh, King of Heroes
Origin: Fate/stay night
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 150 Ibs
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown (Summoned in his prime as an adult, though he possesses all the experience that he did in life, and spent ten years incarnated in the world)
Classification: Archer-class Servant, Heroic Spirit, Demigod
Theme:
Kokonoe: The Holy Grail War... a game where Heroic Spirits take each other on with their masters by their side. There are thousands of Spirits with different skills and techniques, but very few are as dangerous or as powerful as the King of Heroes, Gilgamesh.
Ann: Right, Gilgamesh was a Demigod born 2/3rd God 1/3rd Human in a time where humans and gods lived among themselves. At this time, magic and power was a lot stronger than it is now. And Gilgamesh definitely is a sign of that!
Junko: He's super strong!
Junko: He's able to take on heavy hitters like magical girl Illya, Saber Artoria, and Prototype Hercules! And Hercules' Noble Phantasm at the time practically guaranteed him victory on a conceptual level! He can even take on Archer Hercules, whose strong enough to lift the sky!
Ann: Not just that, but in his battle against Enkidu, their clash destroyed and recreated the world seven times over!
Kokonoe: Destroying the Earth requires at least 59.44 zettatons of energy, so multiplying that 7 gives us a clash of around 416.08 zettatons of energy.
Ann: And this was only from the initial clash! They weren't even fighting serious until right after that single clash!
Junko: He's also very durable!
Junko: He can not only survive shit blowing up in his face, but he can even take a point-blank Excalibur blast from Saber and hits from the busty AI of BB!
Kokonoe: The AI Junko is referring to is known as Passionlip. She weights 1 ton and her arms are strong enough to crush an entire human body to dust.
Ann: Or how about that time he rested in the Mooncell?
Kokonoe: Right, so there are two sides of the Mooncell. There's the Near side and the Far side. Gilgamesh was so incredibly powerful the Mooncell stuffed him in the Far side.
Junko: Normally servants can't go to the Far side as the mere act of it could erase them from existence! But since Gilgamesh didn't feel like dying, he just chilled out in there anyway.
Ann: Also, Gilgamesh is super fast.
Ann: He's massively faster than light, able to keep up with Saber Artoria and is superior to Saber Nero!
Kokonoe: He can easily move around in the Far Side of the Mooncell, which is not within normal time, allowing for a series of communications over eighteen days from Earth to take less than a microsecond within the timeframe of the Moon Cell.
Junko: Though to be fair, he's much more superior once we get to BB, though its safe to wait before discussing that.
Kokonoe: Either way, Gilgamesh is a Servant and therefore abides by a Servants Psychology.
Kokonoe: You see, Servants are essentially copies and avatars of Heroic Spirits from the Throne of Heroes. The Throne of Heroes is located within the The Root, which exists completely outside of space-time. The Swirl of the Root exists outside and beyond everything completely, transcending all reason, logic, theories and dimensions within the Nasuverse. It is the source of all things but is also the complete void of nothingness at the same time.
Junko: In other words, when a Servant ‘dies’, their memories and experiences are recorded to the actual Heroic Spirit that exists within The Root. However, when a Servant is summoned again from the same Heroic Spirit, the newly summoned Servant is completely different! They're practically immortal, buuuut for the sack of Death Battle, killing the Heroic Spirit’s avatar, known as a Servant, is sufficient to count as a win, even if the opponent didn’t kill or affect the actual Heroic Spirit in any way.
Kokonoe: All Servants are also able to resist spatiotemporal distortions, such as when battling against dragons in Fate/Grand Order, who can collapse space-time with their mere breath and presence.
Ann: Servants can see, interact, harm, and even kill ghosts and souls. They are also shown to be able to affect conceptually non-existent bodies, like how Yagyu Munenori was able to attack Kama, despite her being non-existent in nature and her body being the concept of nothingness.
Junko: A Servant can keep fighting 24/7 without sleep, food, or even oxygen! They're perfectly fine as long as they have a master with a good amount of magic power!
Ann: Right. Gilgamesh himself has had five masters within his series. Those being Tohsaka Tokiomi, Kirei Kotomine, Ritsuka Fujimaru, Tinè Chelc, and Hakuno Kishinami.
Junko: And for this fight in particular, we'll be giving him Hakuno Kishinami!
Kokonoe: An NPC created by the Mooncell and based off an existing person. We won't say too much about her, just that she'll be his master for this battle.
Ann: Anyway, now onto his skills and abilities!
Ann: All Servants have a set of Class Skills that can change depending on which series they're in or what master they have.
Junko: For example, his Independent Action!
Junko: This basically determines how long a Servant can go without their master. In Fate/Stay Night, when his master was Kotomine, his Individual Action was at an A Rank. But in Fate/Extra CCC, his Individual Action is an EX Rank and his master was Hakuno. In other words, even if his master dies, he can still roam around freely without a care in the world!
Kokonoe: Since this is a Composite version of Gilgamesh, we will be viewing these skills at the highest they can get possible.
Ann: With that being said, onto his Magic Resistance!
Ann: As the name implies, this let's him to cancel spells with a chant below two verses. It can't defend against magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals. At highest, it gets a C Rank for when he was summoned by Tokiomi.
Kokonoe: Next up is his Divinity.
Kokonoe: Divinity is the measure of whether one has Divine Spirit aptitude or not. At high levels, one is treated as a mixed race of a Divine Spirit, and the level declines when the Heroic Spirit's own rank as a Monster or Demonic Beast raises. It can also decrease due to one's dislike for the gods. Those who have A Rank Divinity or above has reached the Throne of Gods. It also has an effect which reduces special defensive values called 'purge defense' in proportion to the Divinity's Rank. It can break through Skills such as Protection of the Faith and Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig.
Ann: While being 2/3 god and 1/3 human makes him immensely divine, his sheer hate and disgust over the gods made it fall to a B Rank.
Junko: But those are just skills of a spirit! Now we can get to his Personal Skills!
Junko: These skills were given to him thanks to things that have happened in his life. For example, his Charisma ranking at an A+!
Kokonoe: At this point, it is no longer popularity or skill, but rather a kind of spell(curse) in itself. This basically means an army lead by him will have a tremendous increase in abilities.
Junko: Then there's the Golden Rule with an A Rank!
Kokonoe: Being fated a life that is filled with riches, he can live as a millionaire. Gilgamesh lives the life of a nabob and has no money troubles for the entirety of his life. In the legend, he claimed all the world’s treasures as his own and is said to have infinite wealth in his Golden Capital. The originals of Noble Phantasms preserved in his treasury were collected during this period. Although this ability seems unrelated to battle, it plays a great role in arming Gilgamesh.
Junko: And finally, the Treasury of Babylon with an EX Rank!
Kokonoe: Right, you see, Gilgamesh is a collector of treasures. "Gathering all the treasures of the earth" is his habit, but it is not a metaphor either. Within his era, he aggregated, paid and sealed unto his collection all the fruits of civilization. Rather than "possession of individual items", it would be more appropriate to say that the true treasure he grasped was "the very essence of human ingenuity." All that falls beyond the Treasury of the King are those creations that came of "new concepts" crafted by Post-Humans and items derived of the civilizations of other celestial bodies.
Ann: This... kinda explains his Noble Phantasm.
Kokonoe: Noble Phantasms are powerful armaments made using human imagination as their core, and are the weapons and abilities owned by Heroic Spirits. As humanity's illusions, they embody the ultimate mysteries of a hero as symbols of their existence through historical fact and anecdotes.
Junko: For example, Saber Artoria's Noble Phantasm let's her weild the almighty Excalibur! And Medusa's Noble Phantasm let's her turn people to stone and ride a flying horse! As for Gilgamesh, however... he gets one of the strongest of them all! He gets the Gate of Babylon!
Junko: Yeah, this Noble Phantasm grants Gilgamesh every treasure the world has to offer... and when I say everything... I quite literally mean everything!
Ann: He's got swords, spears, guns, games, and even the finest wine! And all he needs to do is open a portal to retrieve it.
Kokonoe: While he can weild some of the weapons in the Gate of Babylon, he much prefers to summon multiple portals at once and fire them at his opponent at a super high speed.
Ann: Each weapon Gilgamesh fires is its own Noble Phantasm, meaning they all have different abilities. This makes it very suicidal to try and parry all of them.
Kokonoe: Gilgamesh can easily bring his weapons back into the Gate of Babylon once he's fired them. He has a near infinite supply of weapons and can fire them off in every direction, making it incredibly dangerous.
Junko: Among the Noble Phantasms he has is Enkidu!
Junko: Gilgamesh's most trusted Noble Phantasm! Named after his dear old dead friend, these chains were made to bind the gods themselves!
Ann: Well, it depends on how much divinity his opponent has. Those with low or no Divinity at all can just find these as regular old chains. Still, they're incredibly strong and can even be used to block devastating attacks!
Kokonoe: He also has Sha Nagba Imuru.
Ann: Um... Sha what now?
Junko: It's basically Gilgamesh's mentality and intelligence, sublimated into a Noble Phantasm. It is continuously active and does not need its true name revealed to use it, though Gilgamesh keeps it restricted most of the time. It grants him high-level Clairvoyance, allowing him to discern great truths with a glance, identifying Servants and their Noble Phantasm with ease. It does not just show him advanced predictions and possibilities, but allows him to look down over all the possibilities and discern the correct move to make.
Kokonoe: If used while serious and with his not-so-arrogant personality, he can basically know everything about the fight, from start to finish, allowing him to strategize accordingly. Since its shows his all possibilities, it can help him not hold back, depending on the infinite possible futures shown to him.
Ann: I see. Well if that's not enough, Gilgamesh has his own vehicle, Vimana.
Kokonoe: This flying vehicle can move faster than the speed of thought and light. It also utilizes nuclear weaponry and modern warfare technology.
Junko: Hah! It looks like something a child would make!
Ann: Well... he can become one...
Junko: Wait what?
Ann: Gilgamesh has what's called the Potion of Youth. This can revert Gilgamesh back into a child, but since this only makes him half reincarnated, that means he's much weaker than his adult form.
Junko: But he's still strong enough to absorb energy from the entire planet and summon this-
Junko: Woah wait... is he riding a giant monster?!
Ann: Yeah, for him to ride on. Said monster is strong enough to devastate entire mountains.
Kokonoe: And onto the absorbing energy thing, Gil does have to be careful. If he's not, he could accidentally turn into Corrupted Gilgamesh.
Kokonoe: Think of this as an Alter form of Gilgamesh. It's incredibly powerful and can make shields that can be used for both offense and defense.
Ann: He can use other weapons too like his-
Junko: Hm? Oh sorry, looks like we're out of time! Anyway, see you on part 2!
Ann: Huh? But what about-
Kokonoe: See you next time.
Ann: Can you let me spe-
