Ann: Quentin Beck was a special effects wizard and stunt man trying to make a name for himself in the film industry. But he was shot down because he was just... bad at acting.

Monika: Vivid about this, Beck attempted to sabotage a film set but got arrested after Spider-man thwarted his plan.

Ann: Upon his release, instead of learning his lesson, Beck decided to move on into a life of crime and make Spider-man pay for his Interference. Using his knowledge of special effects to his advantage, Quentin Beck would become one of Spider-man's most elusive and persistent foes, and take the name of... Mysterio!

Monika: While Mysterio doesn't use real magic, his own tricks make him a difficult foe to deal with, especially when it comes to his suit.

Ann: Um... is he wearing a fishbowl...?

Monika: Mysterio has a dome on his head that protects him from his own illusions and has a 30 minute air supply. He also has an electrically charged Cape and gauntlets that can shoot powerful blasts of electricity.

Ann: It also comes with magic shoes that stick to surfaces and gas that can block Spider-man's spidersense and dissolve his webs.

Monika: This gas also allows him to use his most well known skill, his ability to create illusions.

Monika: This allows Mysterio to get into his opponents head quite easily, letting it be unknown what if something is real or an illusion.

Ann: This helped Mysterio fake his own death numerous of times.

Monika: He's also done things like make Spider-man think he was 6-feet tall... twice. He can make people see things like old people, snakes, tigers, or even make them think they're in an entirely different building.

Ann: He even made Wolverine think all the X-Men were villians and had Wolverine kill them all.

Monika: And if that's not enough, he can also hypnotize others.

Monika: He used this ability to make Spider-man think he was drowning and even forced Solo into fighting Spider-man.

Ann: On top of that, Mysterio has a tranquilizer, a ray gun, and a bunch of androids by his side.

Ann: These android's look just like Mysterio and probably possess the same physical attributes too.

Monika: While Mysterio isn't a physical fighter, he is strong enough to trade blows with Spider-man and can even react to Spider-man's attacks... but that's about where he reaches his limits.

Ann: Right, this is where we get to Mysterio's weaknesses.

Ann: Yeah, underneath the tricks and illusions, Mysterio is just another human with normal human weaknesses.

Monika: He's also not a physical fighter as he prefers tactics and illusions to take an opponent down. Still, with his gadgets and intelligence, it's no wonder Mysterio is one of Spider-man's greatest foes. He even once ascended Godhood.

Ann: Yeah... wait wha-
