Kokonoe: Orphaned at a young age, Liu Kang was taken in and raised the Order of Light's Shaolin Monks, deep within the mountains of China. One day, the god of thunder, Lord Raiden, visited the Shaolin temple. Upon seeing Liu Kang's talent in martial arts, he was convinced Liu Kang was Earthrealm's last hope.

Junko: Because nothing says "saving the world" more than a child.

Kokonoe: So he took the young warrior monk and had him trained by a legendary martial arts master, Bo' Ra Cho. After several years of training, Liu Kang joined the secret White Lotus Society and would eventually be chosen by his grandmaster to defeat Shang Tsung. While he was successful, his battle was far from over and he would protect Earthrealm from constant threats.

Junko: And he has all the skills he needs to do so.

Kokonoe: Right. As a Shaolin Monk, Liu Kang is perfectly capable of hand to hand combat. He can preform cartwheels, somersaults, and flips.

Junko: He can also jump long distances, jump on walls, and even run on walls.

Kokonoe: Liu Kang has mastered many fighting styles, such as Jun Fan, Karate, Pao Chui, Choy Lay Fut, Monkey, and Dragon.

Junko: He has skills like his flying kick.

Junko: Where he basically does a jumping kick in the air. He can follow this up with a bicycle kick.

Junko: Where he leaps forward with a flurry of wheel motion kicks.

Kokonoe: He also has a move called Dragons Tail.

Kokonoe: Where he does a cartwheel and follows it up with a bunch of different moves.

Junko: And there's the Dragon's roar.

Junko: Where he does a potent spinning backhand. He doesn't actually shoot giant fireballs out his mouth... probably. Oh, but he does have the Windmill Punches.

Junko: Where he moves forward and jabs many times with the motion of a wheel.

Kokonoe: He also has different types of weapons, like the Dragon Sword.

Kokonoe: A curved sword, similar to a serpent. He uses it to swing, stab around, and cut anything with its blade.

Junko: He also has a pair of nunchucks.

Junko: A weapon with two small sticks connected to a chain, but you knew that. Anyway, he can use these to attack with swift and impressive swings and spins. It can also deflect projectiles.

Kokonoe: And to add onto that, Liu Kang can control the element of fire.

Kokonoe: With this ability, he can infuse his limbs, or even his whole body, with fire, increasing the strength of his attacks.

Junko: He can create small flaming shockwaves with a stomp, and even shoot fiery projectiles like the Dragon Fire.

Junko: Where he fires a projectile or two the shape of a dragon.

Kokonoe: He can also use Shaolin Vanish.

Kokonoe: Where he can teleport infront of his opponent in a birst of flames. Perfect for sneak attacks.

Junko: And like many video game characters, he can control his Chi.

Kokonoe: Chi is an energy force that every living being possesses, and Liu Kang can use his for many things like detecting the Chi of others.

Junko: He can also use his Chi to form a Light and Dark Metamorphosis.

Junko: He can switch between these two states, giving him different properties.

Kokonoe: The Light Metamorphosis allows him to use the Solar Flame.

Kokonoe: Which is a large ball of light he shoots from his hand. It also lets him use Yin.

Kokonoe: Which let's him focus his energy as he slowly heals himself, though it does leave him vulnerable.

Junko: And Dark Metamorphosis is that one hentai everyone cries about. I believe it was 177-

Kokonoe: HEY!

Junko: Whoops. Well, anyway, the real Dark Metamorphosis allows him to use Soul Sphere.

Junko: A projectile of dark energy that Liu Kang can stop and have explode after a few seconds. Though if he doesn't stop this projectile, it will do nothing to the opponent. He can also use Yang.

Junko: Where he infuses his fist with dark energy, increasing its power and reducing the time it takes to explode.

Kokonoe: Liu Kang also has a Rage Mode.

Kokonoe: Where he sets himself on fire and beats his enemies to death with fast and powerful jabs. He can even spam Dragon Fire.

Junko: Speaking of, I should point out that due to Death Battle rules, there are certain transformations Liu Kang will not be using. For example, he won't be using Zombie Liu Kang or Fire God Liu Kang as they can only be accessed through outside help. But he does have one form that doesn't require outside help...

Junko: That's right! He can turn into a freaking Dragon! In this form, Liu Kang can breathe fire and has teeth as strong as knives. He can literally chomp off the upper half of someone's body!

Kokonoe: Liu Kang is fast enough to dodge light based attacks and strong enough to destroy three big golden symbols with one attack. But while all this is impressive, he's not without his weaknesses. Despite being a champion, he's had his fair share of losses. Some of his moves leave him wide open and being burned and electrocuted at the same time doesn't do him well.

Junko: Not to mention that he's sometimes overshadowed by a mustard color ninja despite being the main character. But even then, Liu Kang has proven time and time again why he is the champion of Mortal Kombat.
