Classification: Human, Southern Water Tribe, Water Bender

Kokonoe: A young teenage member of the southern water tribe, Katara was once the only waterbender on the South Pole and had to teach herself simple techniques due to the absence of a master.

Junko: Two events stand out in her past. The first being the death of her mom due to a dickhead, and the second being her daddy abandoning her afterwards.

Kokonoe: *sigh* I can definitely relate to that. Anyway, after those events, responsibility for taking care of the village fell to Katara, her older brother Sokka, and their grandmother Kana. One day her and Sokka went fishing when they found someone they weren't expecting, the Avatar Aang. Having rescued him from a block of ice, Katara and Sokka joined him to fight against the fire nation and save the world.

Junko: Yeah, and Katara was a great fit to the team. After all, she's a waterbender, meaning she can literally manipulate water.

Junko: She can't create water, but she can control it at will. This ability is strongest during a full moon.

Kokonoe: The amount of water she can control is only limited to the water around her. With large amounts she can blast her opponents away. With short amounts of water, she can unleash small, quick strikes. She keeps a pouch with water with her just in case. She can make water whips, whater domes, etc. She can also turn water into mist for camouflage or turn it into ice.

Kokonoe: With the ability to manipulate ice, she can make ice walls, staircases, etc.

Junko: She can also use her waterbending for healing.

Junko: She can heal minor wounds and even once brought Aang back from the dead.

Kokonoe: She also has a special technique in plantbending.

Kokonoe: She can basically manipulate plant life and even managed to overwhelm two advanced plantbenders. She can also take the water out of the plants.

Junko: But that's not even close to as good as my favorite technique, Bloodbending.

Junko: The dark subset of waterbending, this allows Katara to control the bodily fluids of living organisms, mostly their blood. She can basically turn her opponents into puppets and, in theory, rip the blood out the human body or rip apart organs.

Kokonoe: Still, this technique isn't one Katara typically uses. And stronger waterbenders are able to break out of her bloodbending technique.

Junko: Still, Katara is very quick and agile.

Junko: Having dodged lightning multiple times and can keep up with Zuko and Azula. Those two can take on Aang who is literally as fast as the wind.

Kokonoe: She's also very durable.

Kokonoe: She can take hits from other benders, No-sell a throw that made Sokka scream in pain, ran face first into an earth pillar, and tanked being knocked back a few feet by a swamp monster, who can lift and throw tanks.

Junko: Hah! Looks like Katara can really tank a hit!

Kokonoe: ... *ahem* Anyway, despite her power she is still human and can be killed by normal human means.

Junko: Yeah but still, with all her experience and skill, it's no wonder she's the wife of Avatar Aang! Sorry Katara x Zuko fans!

Katara: I will never, EVER turn my back on the people who need me!
