Junko: You know, a girl's hair is very important to them. It helps you look right in front of your friends, take good selfies, and apparently fight to the death! Like these two girls right here!

Kokonoe: Filia Medici, the girl with a parasite on her head from Skullgirls.

Junko: And Shantae, the half genie from Shantae! I'm Junko and she's Kokonoe!

Kokonoe: The analysis is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

In a small restaurant in town, a man sat beside Filia. He put his arm around her.

Man: Hey little lady, how about you and I get together sometime?

Samson: We're fine. Thanks.

Man: Woah, that's a um... pretty deep voice you got there. But it's cool.

Samson: Grrr! That's it! You had your chance!

Samson quickly came out Filia's hat and swung a giant tentacle hair at the man, sending him flying back.

Filia: Samson... You shouldn't go causing a scene like that.

Samson: He had it coming!

Filia: I know you mean well, but you can't cause a commotion. I mean, what if-

Shantae: Hey!

Shantae suddenly came into the restaurant through the window.

Shantae: What did you do to that poor old man?!

Filia: Huh?! Wait no! It was all a-

Shantae: Don't try to make any excuses! You either go down the easy way, or the hard way!

Filia: Looks like we have no choice. Let's go Samson!

Shantae dashed at Filia and whipped her hair, striking at her. Samson quickly blocked the strike, knocking him and Filia back.

Shantae: Whoa! You're hair's alive!

Filia dashed at Shantae. Samson turned into teeth around Filia's arm and went to chomp at Shantae but Shantae dodged it and whipped her hair again, smacking Filia in the face and sending her through tables.

Shantae: Transform!

Shantae did a quick dance and turned into a monkey. Filia quickly recovered and ran at her. Samson turned into a knife and went to stab her but Shantae jumped up high then went to claw at Filia who quickly flipped back to dodge her.

Filia: Bug Off!

Samson turned into a cockroach-like shape and Filia charged at Shantae, knocking her into a wall. Filia went for another charge and Shantae went for the monkey bullet as she sprung off the wall at a fast speed and the two hit each other with a headbutt. This sent them back staggering a little but Shantae quickly recovered. She went back to base, danced again, and turned into an elephant. She charged at Filia and sent her flying straight out the restaurant. Shantae turned back to base and walked towards her.

Shantae: So, ready to give up?

Filia got up on one knee.

Filia: In your dreams! Samson!

Samson: On it!

Shantae: Huh?!

Samson quickly turned into an octopus and wrapped his tentacles around Shantae. She squeezed her body and threw her into a building in the middle of town. Shantae recovered and did a quick dance as she turned into a spider and shot acidic venom at Filia. Filia quickly dodged it as she dashed at Shantae. Samson turned into a spider and went to grab Shantae, but she quickly jumped to the side to avoid his attempt. Shantae went back to base, danced, and turned into a Harpy as she flew into the air. She started shooting feathers at Filia, but Samson started blocking them.

Samson: Pathetic!

Shantae went to dash down at Filia.

Filia: Rapunzel's grave!

Samson suddenly exploded into a monster monstrous form as he shot a giant hairball up at Shantae. Shantae quickly dodged it and went to strike at them but Filia jumped to the side to dodge her. She then curled into a ball as Samson covered her in spikes.

Samson: Hairball!

Shantae quickly turned back, then turned into a spinning tortoise and they both dashed at each other with their own versions of a spindash. The two of them clashed and sent each other back. Shantae turned back and flipped to her feet as Filia was launched straight into a building.

Shantae: *phew* ... that was... huh?

Shantae heard growling from the building Filia crashed into. Samson came out with Filia unconscious and on his back as he was now a mindless killing machine.

Shantae: Uh oh.

Samson dashed at Shantae and turned his hand into a drill to strike at her. Shantae quickly dodged and went to whip him with her hair multiple times, but it had little effect. Samson grabbed Shantae and slammed her to the ground, creating a massive crater. Samson then turned his hand into a hammer and was about to smash Shantae's skull in, but Shantae suddenly unleashed a giant burst of dark magic that launched Samson back. Samson quickly recovered and looked at Shantae as she had now transformed into Nega Shantae. Her eyes were filled with evil intent as she smiled. Samson roared and dashed at her and went for a strike but Nega Shantae dodged it. She danced and turned into a mermaid as she jumped into the air and started spinning, shooting explosive bubbles everywhere.

Nega Shantae: Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!

The explosions were overwhelming Samson as he quickly got back. Nega Shantae went out of her mermaid transformation as Samson dashed at her. He went to smash her with his fist but Shantae dodged him and smacked him with her hair, sending him flying back. She then started dancing and healing herself as Samson recovered and dashed at her. But before he could strike, Shantae went for a quick dance.

Nega Shantae: Obliterate!

Shantae let out a giant invisible blast that caused both Samson and Filia to blow up into giant musical notes. She smiled at her victory then passed out as she turned back to normal.

Kokenoe: Wait, were Nega Shantae and Monster Samson even supposed to be in this match up?

Junko: Who cares?! That was awesome!

Kokonoe: Anyway, this match up was an interesting one. While both combatants had abilities that could counter the others, it was Filia's inexperience that kinda gave her the loss this time.

Junko: Not just fighting experience, but Filia was lacking in all the physical capacities as well. Shantae was way faster than Filia and stronger too. And even if Shantae and Filia were equal in any of their physical categories, Shantae can easily just turn into an animal that makes her faster, stronger, or more durable than Filia.

Kokonoe: The only reason Filia would be thanks to Samson, a parasite with more experience than Filia.

Junko: However, Samson himself is very brash and reckless, and it's not like Shantae hasn't faced smarter and stronger opponents in the past.

Kokonoe: In the end, Shantae's superior experience and physical attributes, and superior power was all she needed to win this match up.

Junko: Looks like Filia is now in a hairy position.

Kokonoe: The winner is Shantae.
