Kokonoe: Born in a world where Hunters and Huntresses fight off the evil forces of Grimm, Ruby Rose has always dreamed of being a hero just like in the stories her mother would read to her as a child.

Junko: And this dream would come true a bit earlier than expected. After chasing off a crook in a top hat, Ruby was brought to Professor Ozpin and he agreed to have her go to Beacon Academy early to be the huntress she always wanted to be. 

Kokonoe: She would become the leader of Team RWBY along with Weiss Schnee, Blake Belodanna, and Yang Xiao Long. The four of them would go on many adventures but one day they would go on their toughest adventure yet, when they would be transported to another world entirely and forced into a tag tournament against three other worlds... Persona, Under-night, and of course... Blazblue.

Junko: Under normal circumstances, Ruby would be completely dominated by all three of these universes. But luckily the Blazblue version of Ruby is a lot stronger than the regular one, having already gone through the events of volumes 1 and 2 as well as Grimm Eclipse and Ice Queendom which is semi-canon to the main series.

Kokonoe: Since the game has 4 separate timelines, we will look at all of them though focusing mostly on Ruby's route. And while the events of Cross Tag more than likely occur between volumes 2 and 3, Elizabeth introducing Volume 6 Neo messes that up a bit. So just to be sure, we will also be going over volumes 3-6 though our main focus will be with Blazblue.

Junko: And as stated before, a tad bit different from the original but way stronger in terms of power.

 Junko: She's stronger than Makoto, who can punch you to the moon so hard it shatters! She's also beaten Noel, who can react to and take lasers powerful enough to destroy entire cities! While she's not stronger than her sister, Yang, she's still stronger than Weiss, who could go toe-to-toe with a held-back Azreal for a short period. This was still the same guy who broke out of 17 layers of gravitational binding!

Kokonoe: Not only that but Ruby has beaten the likes of Hakumen and Iron Tager. Hakuman is strong enough to take on the Planet-Busting Black Beast while Tager is capable of surviving atmospheric reentry.

Ann: And she can keep up with members of the Investigation Team like Chie, Yosuke, and Yu Narukami. The investigation team are all able to face Shadow which can react to one of Yu's Persona, Mada, who can devour a universe in seconds! Yu himself should be comparable to other Wild Card holders like Joker, who can react to attacks capable of crossing galaxies in seconds!

Junko: Ruby is a pretty cheerful and energetic young girl, as well as one of the youngest of the four main characters. But don't let her age fool you. She's actually a decent strategist and has a keen eye for weapons... possibly even more so than the original Ruby. 

Kokonoe: She is capable of analyzing a weapon she's never seen before down to the function and the material it's made of just by looking at it once, even when suffering from severe stage fright. She also possesses superb combat prowess, having received training from her uncle Qrow.

Ann: She even made her own weapon, Cresent Rose!

Ann: A giant scythe that turns into a customizable, high-impact sniper rifle!

Junko: A what now...?

Ann: It's also a gun.

Kokonoe: The top of the scythe can fire ammunition from the sniper and the hook on the back can jam itself into the ground or enemies. She can also rotate the blade head around, allowing her to attack from both sides. Her scythe can also take two other different forms for various purposes.

Junko: Like the War Scythe Form!

Junko: Where her scythe folds out and becomes an enormous polearm. It lacks any long-ranged capabilities but it does allow for more cutting power.

Ann: My favorite though is the sniper form.

Ann: This form is used for more accurate shots! It lacks the melee capabilities of the scythe form but seems to hold around 30 bullets and seems to have a semi-auto mode. She can also replace her regular ammo with dust!

Kokonoe: A sort of energy that takes the form of various crystals. Using these crystals as ammunition grants them various elemental properties.

Ann: Ice dust lets her shoot icicles that explode and freeze her targets! Fire dust lets her shoot a fiery projectile that causes an explosion on impact! Electric dust shoots an orb of electricity! And Gravity dust is used to propel Ruby across the battlefield!

Kokonoe: Ruby doesn't just have her weapon though. She also has her aura.

Kokonoe: The physical manifestation of one's soul. Every living being has one except for Grimm, beings that possess no soul. It is a necessary energy source for all huntsmen and can be used for various purposes.

Junko: Especially when it comes to defense as it creates a barrier around Ruby to protect her from damage. It lets her survive extreme temperatures and weather conditions. It also gives her a minor healing factor.

Kokonoe: It also seems to protect her from the side effects of Ragna's Seithr. Hell, the fact she's able to take hits from people like Ragna, Noel, and Hakumen alone is impressive considering all three of them have weapons that permanently damage the soul and negate healing factors. She's even taken hits from Hyde, whose sword can erase others from existence.

Ann: Her Aura also helps manifest her Semblance, Pelat Burst.

Kokonoe: Also known as Speed, this allows Ruby to take the form of a wisp, traveling at an extreme velocity from one point to another by breaking herself down to her molecular components. Thus negating her mass and then resembling them at her destination.

Junko: Thus is the reason why she can move so fast it almost looks like she's teleporting. Her semblance also lets her fly, create decoys, and even form a tornado strong enough to lift a Beringel, which should be around 300 to 430 pounds.

Ann: She also has her Silver Eyes.

Ann: To make a long story short, Ruby inherited her silver eyes from her mother. In the world of Remnant, Silver-Eyed warriors are special as their powers are a direct counter to Grimm, letting Ruby burn them, turn them to stone, or completely vaporize them. 

Kokonoe: Though it doesn't work on just anybody. It mostly works on creatures of darkness like the Grimm. 

Junko: Plus she doesn't have full mastery of her Silver Eyes anyway. Especially not around this time she crossed over with Blazblue. She didn't really need it either. I mean, she is the only one in the game who got all 4 Keystones... with a little help of course.

Kokonoe: These keystones actually make up System XX, the being who brought Ruby and the gang into the Phantom Field in the first place. Her job is pretty much to gather up data and invade worlds. 

Junko: Even in a weakened state, Hazama accidentally used System XX to create a clone of Susano'o, who nearly destroyed all six universes including Persona's own multiverse. So you could imagine that Ruby had a lot to deal with. Luckily she had a few more tricks up her sleeve. 

Ann: You're talking about her Distortion Skills?

Junko: Yep! Starting with the one named directly after her Semblance, Petal Burst!

Junko: Where she charges forward, piercing her opponent once before more attacks follow up behind her!

Ann: Then there's the Petal Dance.

Ann: Ruby spins around her Cresent Rose while blasting along with it, following up with a powerful final strike, similar to those of Gordeau's Shade Harvest, but upward parabolic.

Kokonoe: And finally her Astral Finish, Red Reaper.

Kokonoe: Ruby dropkicks the opponent and uses her Semblance to fly into the sky, hooking them around the neck with Crescent Rose to take them along for the ride. She propels herself higher and higher by firing Crescent Rose repeatedly before flipping upside down and using one final shot to decapitate her opponent in a flurry of rose petals.

Junko: Hah! Now that will definitely get everything splashing red!

Kokonoe: But Ruby does have her own flaws.

Kokonoe: Ruby is pretty naive, air-headed, and somewhat reckless. And without her weapon, Ruby lacks any real combat ability, especially with this version of Ruby. 

Junko: So she's fully reliant on her weapon, semblance, and aura, which while stronger is not unbreakable. It helps Ruby resist a lot of things but can still be shattered with enough damage. And since Ruby's aura is depleted, she can no longer use her Semblance.

Ann: With such flaws, you would never think she would stand a chance against System XX, but after it blasted away the likes of Ragna, Es, and Hazama, Ruby stood against it. And with the help of her friends... mostly Weiss... she took it down and managed to return to her own world.

Kokonoe: She didn't just beat System XX, she reverted it back to its state as a Keystone, weakening it so greatly it could only take the form of a Keystone. She even managed to get System XX to have a change of heart and ended up keeping it as a pet after saving the world.

Junko: Only to be forgotten cause this isn't canon! Wait, but if they returned home, what happened to the other worlds?

Kokonoe: We don't dig too deep into that either. 

Ruby: As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books... Someone who fought for what was right, and protected people who couldn't protect themselves!
