Kokonoe: Born September 13, 2027, Hibiki Tachibana was a regular girl who lived a regular life with her best friend, Miku. 

Junko: Don't worry, you can ship them. Even they ship them.

Kokonoe: One day, Miku and Hibiki were supposed to arrive at a concert performed by the likes of Kanade and Tsubasa.

Junko: Hmm... Hibiki... Kanade... for some reason those names... sound familiar... ... ... Must be my imagination. Moving on!

Kokonoe: Well, Miku couldn't make it, causing Hibiki to be forced to go alone. Bringing her to the right place at the wrong time.

Junko: Why? Because the entire stadium was attacked by Noise, mysterious creatures that carbonize their victims on contact!

Kokonoe: Despite clearly being outnumbered, Tsubasa and Kanade still tried to fight the Noise off, and Hibiki ended up getting caught up in all of it. 

Junko: And struck right through the chest! She could only rely on Kanade to protect her as she died!

Kokonoe: And yet, Kanade successfully saved Hibiki, though sacrificing her own life in the process.

Junko: But if you're thinking Hibiki's life was all sunshine and rainbows after that then you got another thing coming! Hibiki was the only known survivor of that mess. So everyone who lost a family, friend, or even a lover would naturally take all their hate and unleash it on her. I mean, why does she have to survive when Leon had to die?

Ann: Um... who's Leon?

Junko: People had sent piles of hate mail and death threats to her and her family, threw bricks through her window, and so much more! It got to the point that her father left and abandoned her!

Kokonoe: Eventually, Hibiki would suffer from survivor guilt, with the only things keeping her up being Miku and the final words Kanade told her before death... "don't give up on life".

Junko: Bleh, such hopeful statements make me wanna barf.

Kokonoe: And then one day, while on her way to pick up some music, another Noise attack erupted across the city.

Junko: This girl can't catch a break. And instead of taking shelter, she risked her life for some kid who lost her mom.

Kokonoe: Eventually the two would be cornered. To comfort the child, Hibiki sang the same song Kanade sung way back then. And just like that, Hibiki discovered her hidden powers allowing her to escape the Noise. She would then join S.O.N.G in their quest to defeat the monsters.

Ann: Commanded by one Genjuro Kazanari.

Junko: This man is a complete badass! Capable of facing some of the toughest of opponents with his bare fists despite being some lowly human!

Ann: Regardless of his skill, he mostly stays in the HQ, analyzing Hibiki's opponents and giving Hibiki advice or strategies against them.

Junko: Still, he's incredibly strong, plus he's the one who trained Hibiki!

Kokonoe: While she does have an actual training regimen, her fighting style is based on movies that Genjuro made her watch. Letting her learn from legendary martial artists such as Bruce Lee.  Even as a rookie, Hibiki was strong enough to take out armies of Noise at once and fly all the way to the moon to destroy a large chunk of it.

Junko: Her friend, Chris, blocked a laser blast capable of destroying the entire moon and Tsubasa destroyed the weapon that blasted the laser. And this was before all three of these girls became even more powerful than that!

Ann: All thanks to the power of singing!

Kokonoe: Hibiki is a kind-hearted individual. A little too nice for her own good, to the point that both friend and foe alike can't tell if she's stupid or insane.

Ann: Despite being a bit naive, Hibiki is rather smart. She's a very skilled melee fighter and martial artist. She's also good at adapting to certain situations to a degree. She's good at singing too, which is good because it activates her Symphogear.

Kokonoe: Also known as gears, this is a powerful armor used to combat Noise. It is activated when the user sings a song to harmonize with a relic shard, which in Hibiki's case is attached to her heart, though it will later be replaced by a regular one that she wears around her neck. Still, because she only has a fragment of the original, she can't summon a spear like Kanade did.

Junko: But that's just fine because her main weapons are her "knuckle-type" fists! With fist like those, she can massive gusts of wind with a single punch and even produce massive explosions! She can punch hard enough to depart clouds or spin fast enough to create massive tornados! 

Kokonoe: She has rockets on her arms and legs to increase the power of her punches and kicks. She can also perform drill attacks and she has pistons to amplify the power of her punches as well.

Ann: And since her powers are powered by music, it makes sense that she has a special song for a special occasion... her Superb Song.

Kokonoe: Comonly mistranslated as the Swan Song, the Superb Song is a song that boosts the power of the Symphogear beyond its natural limitations at the cost of the user's own life. When Kanade used it, she managed to wipe out an entire stadium of Noise in a matter of moments.

Ann: Hibiki can use the Superb Song to unleash a massive punch possibly even more powerful than that considering her already impressive strength. And since she used to have her relic inside her body, she's strong enough to use the Superb Song without it killing her... though it does still take a lot out of her.

Junko: That's fine. She's got plenty of other attacks up her sleeves, like the Hibiki Style, Spear Thrusting Strike!

Kokonoe: By gathering and concentrating energy, she can extend the Gear of her arms, before releasing it after connecting her fist with her opponent. She can use this attack on the ground to perform the Hibiki Style: Earth Penetrating Power, making the ground below the target rise and making them lose their balance.

Ann: She has a Sky Hammer Kick and can a rocket punch called the Spear's Violent Destruction.

Junko: Though there used to be a chance of her going berserk, she managed to replace this berserk state with her Ignite Module. She ended up losing both of these transformations and they were replaced with a badass Almagan form!

Kokonoe: A transformation unlocked by fusing a Symphogear with a Faust Gear, this form grants Hibiki an increase in power and physical stats.

Ann: This transformation has two stages. The first stage is the Cacoon Stage, which surrounds her in an energy barrier to protect her until she reaches the second stage which is the Imago stage, which turns the energy into an upgraded Armed Gear.

Kokonoe: In Hibiki's case, this upgrade takes the form of two large armored gauntlets that come from her shoulders and mimic her arms. They can detach and fly independently, as well as spin rapidly to become drills.

Junko: In this form, she should be able to perform attacks like TESTAMENT, where she can JoJo punch kaiju into the sky before punching straight through their body! But it's not even close to as powerful as her X-Drive.

Kokonoe: This mode is hidden in the gears under 3,001,655,722 locks, and it can only be unlocked when it obtains a high level of phonic gain. In this state, all Symphogears users, regardless of their normal capabilities, can fly and survive in space, and also gain telepathy between each other. All their stats get a massive boost, including the manifestation of their Armed Gears.

Junko: And by mixing in her Almagan and Superb Song, she can tap into her Burning X-Drive, boosting all this even further in her final form!

Kokonoe: In her X-Drive, she can use a stronger version of her Spear Thrusting Strike called the Extra-Large Spear Rush. She also has an upgraded version of the Spear's Violent Destruction called the Super Rank Spear's Violent Destruction, except this one has her turn the Gear of her arm in spear-like form, still linked to her arm, thrusting and dealing with the large groups of enemies around her.

Ann: This is similar to what she did in her Berserk State and it's safe to say she can do moves from her Ignite Mode too, like the Star Stream Spear, where Hibiki transforms the Gear of her arm, before punching the air, creating a torrent of fire, striking the target; Hibiki then emerges from the fire toward the sky before charging anew while transforming the Gear of her leg and activating the propulsor to deal the fatal blow with a burning kick.

Kokonoe: But her strongest attack is METANOIA. By gathering all the Phonic Gain of humanity into her hand, Hibiki can break through any attack. She then hugs her target, expelling any foreign influence within them. 

Junko: As the strongest attack of the entire series only used by Hibiki, it is said to instantly exorcise and erase all kinds of evil, even that of a god like Shem-Ha!

Kokonoe: Well that does make sense considering Hibiki is a God Killer.

Junko: I'm sorry what?

Kokonoe: As it turns out, Gungnir isn't just an ordinary Symphogear, but also the lance created by Odin to pierce through Jesus Christ himself. Due to the real-life theories that Gungnir and the Lance of Longinus are one and the same, this grants Gungnir god-slaying properties on the conceptual level.

Ann: And that means...?

Kokonoe: With a single punch, Hibiki can destroy anything divine or anyone viewed as a God even by name. Not just destroying them physically but conceptually as they are erased from every single timeline and dimension.

Junko: This hope-fueled twerp is more of a badass than I thought. But she has her flaws.

Ann: Well, her power is severely limited if she's not singing, but that's not all. She can sometimes allow her emotions to get the best of her to the point of running from her problems and having bouts of self-doubt.

Junko: And she's a huge pacifist. Sometimes outright refusing to fight another human being even at the cost of her own life.

Kokonoe: But when the going gets tough, and Gods come to threaten the universe, you can rely on Hibiki to protect everyone's life... no matter the cost.

Hibiki: Everyone's singing... that's why... I must continue to sing, and work hard... and fight!!
