Aka: Four hundred years ago, a young Gajeel Redfox was raised and trained by the dragon, Metalicana.

Lisa: Sounds like a pokemon. What type is it?

Aka: Um...Dragon type?

Lisa: Thought so! Anyway, this pokemon only raised the young Gajeel for a few years before sealing himself into Gajeel and throwing him four hundred years into the future.

Aka: Sometime after, Gajeel joined Phantom Lord becoming one of their top wizards.

Lisa: Then Phantom Lord went to war with Fairy Tail, got their asses handed to them, and Gajeel ended up joining Fairy Tail soon after cause, like, what else was the guy gonna do? Become a musician?

Aka: Anyway, Gajeel had become a valuable asset to the guild and was definitely a skilled enough fighter to help defend it.

Lisa: Gajeel uses Iron Dragon Slayer magic! This caster-type lost magic can be used both defensively and offensively and gives Gajeel's body the characteristics of a dragon. This power can be used to boost his speed and strength, spew iron, cover his body in iron, and even extend his limbs to turn them into poles or swords.

Aka: Iron dragon slayer magic also grants him a large arsenal of attacks such as the Iron Dragon roar, which allows him to shoot a tornado of iron out his mouth as a Dragon would with fire. Such tornado possesses immense force. Able to cause explosions heavy blunt damage. All while releasing sharp shards of metal in the process, potentially shredding his opponent.

Lisa: Iron Dragon Club turns his arm or leg into a steel club, increasing his striking power. And with Iron Dragon's Sword, he can turn his arm or leg into a sword or a fuckin chainsaw if you're watchin' the anime.

Aka: Iron Dragon foot blade creates a blade on Gajeel's foot to help him climb walls and Iron Dragon hard fist has Gajeel punch his targets while his entire body is covered in iron scales, increasing the power of his punches while also giving protection to his body.

Lisa: That not good enough? He also knows the secret arts of Iron Dragon Slayer magic. Like the Iron God sword, where he creates a giant sword and swings it down upon his opponents. Destroying everything in its path. As well as the Iron spiral which has him turn his leg into a drill and pierce through whatever it strikes.

Aka: It should be noted that Gajeel's iron is much harder than regular iron, though it does use up his limited magic.

Lisa: But don't worry. Unlike most other magic users, Gajeel can replenish his magic. How does he do that you might ask? Well, he does it by eating metal! That's right, silver, uranium, lead, as long as it's a metal, his jaws are strong enough to munch on them. The only metal he can't eat is metal he made himself. Which is understandable. I mean if you shit out some chocolate you ain't gonna reach down and try to eat it will ya?

Aka: Anyway, Gajeel's magical abilities go even further. After eating the shadow of a shadow dragon slayer, which is somehow possible, Gajeel can now enter Iron shadow dragon mode.

Lisa: In this state, Gajeel's magical abilities amplify as he can do all his techniques with shadows.

Aka: Gajeel can also turn himself into a shadow. Making him invulnerable to all attacks unless by someone who can hit shadows. Only downside is it weakens him after use.

Lisa: Luckily for him, he has another trick up his sleeve. By absorbing iron, Gajeel can go from using iron dragon slayer magic to steel dragon slayer magic! In doing so, Gajeel's attacks and defenses are greatly amplified! Allowing him to break stuff he couldn't break before.

Aka: Gajeel is also durable even without his iron magic. Able to shrug off heavy attacks that would have killed Natsu. He's strong enough to go toe to toe with fairy tails heavy hitters and fast enough to block lightning. His only big weakness is his really bad motion sickness.

Lisa: Exactly why if Fairy Tail needs some help, they can always count on Gajeel to get the job done.
