Also 👇 the following is a plan I developed about two months ago. All of this started around mid-January this year and I was just overcome with curiosity about what it is about an account that gives it followers.

Spoiler alert: you have to be a bit obsessed with your account for any of these to work.

Okay, without further ado, let's go into the Wattpad Experiment.
🧐The Wattpad experiment investigation 1:

Aim: To investigate whether niceness=more followers

Hypothesis: If I'm nice to everyone, I'll for sure get more followers

To be measured: time it takes to get followers

What's being measured: number of followers gained within set of time

Goal: to get 2000 followers within one month across all accounts😯

Method 1:(this is the first method I tried)
1. Make a new account which is visually appealing
2. Make sure you remain anonymous so that nobody knows you/hates you initially in case you've had

3. You can skip steps 1 and 2. Get to know people and talk about things that interest them. Spoiler alert=very fatiguing if you do it too much
4. Do follow for follows. Most people are glad to accept if you do it in the right way. Make sure you record every follow for follow because some people might unfollow then you'll have to unfollow
5. Use the old account as a control variable where you do your normal things on it and see how many followers you're getting there. This will let you know which of your methods are actually working
6. Make sure to encourage people to follow you back by voting on chapters for their books AND add them to your reading lists. Comment so the person feels an emotional connection somehow
7. Journal everything that happens down so you can refer to it later on

🧐Wattpad experiment investigation 2:

Aim: to investigate whether authors with fiction books get more followers

Hypothesis: yes it's true

To be measured: if I can get lots of votes

What's being measured: votes to followers ratio

Goal: to get lots of votes🤷‍♀️

Method 1:
1.write a good book
2.publish

This book will focus mostly on investigation 1 but I'll eventually start talking about investigation 2

I might use pictures/screenshots to help you all visually see what happened so you can interpret it your own way.
