Contest entry for Hawaiianhorse09, Round 2

     " Alright class, today we are learning about spells. Hey!! Arina be quiet or you'll have detention with the eels. " Mrs. Grouchy Seaweed Hair yelled.

Ok her names not actually grouchy seaweed hair but we call her that because she's mean, her hair is a mess, and she always uses seaweed scented things. Her name is Mrs. Pearl.

Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce myself.
I'm Zoe and if you didn't know I'm a mermaid. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and my tail is light blue. I live in a place called Moonspell.

I wasn't necessarily a beginner mermaid but I was still learning. My friends, Arina, Melissa, and Siena, and I were now at the library. We were studying for our big spells final.

I was looking for a spell book when something caught my eye. It was a book titled ' Beyond '. I reached out and pulled it and suddenly a secret doorway opened.

" Girls look!" I whispered. We check to see if anyone was around and walked in, closing the door behind us. A small light turned on and there was a small floating book.

It was a purple book but it had no title. Melissa grabbed the book and opened it. We all stood there looking shocked of what was in the book. This is what the book said.

The humans are not what you think. They haven't done anything to us. They will help us get things to build our world and we can help them to build their world. I recall these four special mermaids will become friends with the humans and discover human nature things

The last page was ripped out. We quickly ran out of the room and back to our dorm.

" When the school is asleep, we go to the shore." I said.

( Sleepy sleep time )

" ok we will camp out on the shore." Siena said.

We swam up to the shore and suddenly our tails began to shimmer. Blue dust came from my tail, purple dust came from Arina's tail, green dust came from Melissa's tail, and pink dust came from Siena's tail.

As soon as our tails glowed they turned into two long things. They had five tubular things on each one. We were all wearing this piece of fabric that was over our whole body that was the color of our tails.  ( dress ) We just sat there until it got light.

We saw a little girl holding a small dead mermaid in her hand.

" Ahhhhh!!!" We all screamed and tried to run away but ended up just falling. By now the little girl was coming over.

" Why are you screaming." She asked

" You killed the mermaid." Melissa said

" It's not real. It's a stuffed animal mermaid." She replied back.

" We're mermaids." I whispered.

" Mermaids aren't real." She said

" Look. " Arina and Siena dipped there two long things into the water and there green and pink tails. The little girl gasped and ran to tell her parents.

" Hey Zoe look." She said pointing under a rock. There was a piece of paper under it. We all took a look at the page.

Funny, it said Zoe, Arina, Melissa, and Siena.

The book ended up to be true and we were known as THE mermaids of Moonspell.
