Hello everyone!

Thank you for choosing to read my piece in the Wattpad Block Party. This time around I am sharing the first chapter and blurb for my #SNOWAnthology piece, OF A FEATHER. I'm super excited to be a part of this amazing anthology, and I hope you enjoy this chapter, as well as all the other sneak peeks you will see throughout the month.

Blurb

When angels get wind of demons plotting to overthrow the balance between good and evil, Mikelo, an Authority, is sent to earth to find out about the plan, and stop it at all costs.

While staying on earth in a cabin chosen specifically for the untouched purity of the land, he meets the landowners' daughter, Claudia, who takes care of their renters' every needs. But she quickly falls for the heaven bound creature, and worse yet, he can't seem to keep his mind off of her.

When Claudia's life is in danger, Mikelo must make the decision to save her and risk his entire career, or let her perish to discover the plans the demons' plans.

CHAPTER 1

White snow covered the ground, untouched by the inhabitants of the land. Flakes continued to fall from the sky, decorating the hair of the brunette who led Mike to the cabin. Her steps were sure and steady as she led him down the path to the cabin. The corner of her mouth pulled up as she turned to make sure he was following. A gust of wind passed through, carrying her tropical island scented perfume to him.

            There was something about her ...

Another breeze brought about a shift in the night air, and a sourness caused his nose to crinkle. Darkness floated with the wind as evil tainted the world. Mike followed her up the steps. She opened the door, turning the light on as she stepped inside. Almost immediately, the white specks of snow melted from the warmth inside.

"Here we are, Mike."

"Thank you, Ms.—"

"Please, call me Claudia."

Mike crossed the threshold and looked around. The room was something he might have called 'quaint'—if Mike were one to use words like that. An old, blue, corduroy couch and two matching chairs separated the entrance from the living room. The large flat screen TV was out of place with the rest of the room.

"This is it," Claudia said. "I can give you a tour of the rest of the cabin, if you'd like."

"I don't want to be any trouble," Mike said.

"Not at all. I'm used to giving tours. I've done so many." She smiled and placed her hands behind her back.

The demons were meeting later that night, and it was imperative for Mike to find out where. He needed to learn more about the land they were interested in. The sooner he started the mission, the sooner it would all be over with. But he also found it hard to turn the woman down. There was something about her that he didn't quite understand, something that pulled him in. He didn't want her to leave quite yet.
