Marilynwritesalot Presents: THE DEAN - CHAPTER ONE, SNEAK PEEK
"Marilyn!" You called after the returning member of the Wattpad Block Party, the sight of her now, cut, curly ebony hair was your prime focus as she made her way to the stairs. "What floor are you going to?" You asked as you caught up with her, gesturing towards the never-ending flights of stairs.
"Eight-hundred," she said, her voice holding a slight intensity, causing your eyebrow to involuntarily raise but you remain quiet, assessing her current state.
She was going to Kelly Blount's floor, it must be her day, you thought.
"What room are you in?" Glancing over at the relevantly tall, young adult that stood before you, peering up at the stairs that were held above you both.
"815," she said, a warm smile curves its way onto her delicate full lips. "The room before the last door on the left."
"I guess I'll see you there," you said, unable to fight your own smile. "I'm not sure if you remember me, but it's nice to see you again."
"Of course I remember, you, (insert name)," Marilyn responds almost immediately, her big, brown, doe-like eyes gleamed even under the dark and gloomy rays that crept through the windows.
The stairwell fell silent, the faint sound of the vending machine a few floors up bounced off the walls like rubber bands.
"Oh," She starts to ascend up the stairway until stopping and looking back as she stood one foot on one stair and one foot another stair. "Welcome back to my post."
HIYA, IT'S MARILYN AGAIN!
How have you guys been?
Good? Swell? Sort of well?
Nonetheless let's...
Ha, @my amazing amazing followers, I know I've been practically dead for the last few months but I have two totally LEGIT reasons.
1. As some of you may know I've been writing offline, and I'm A L M O S T finished with the rewrite of Reforming Blake Ryder plus I'm halfway done with majority of books
2. I'm just getting finished with my summer job (six flags) and my summer course which leaves me a good two weeks for my actual summer.
Bummer, I know. I'm still happy about the progress I've been making!
And when I tell you that I'm super super excited to share these books with guys, I really mean it.
I've been working so so so hard.
Anywho, enough of the family reunion. I'm here today with a short sneak peek of my brannnnnnnnd new book "The Dean".
Yes, you read that correctly ;)
A brand new book.
(ps, yes, it's still in the process of being written, hence the sneaking of the peeking *wink*)

CHAPTER ONE (SNIPPET)
"May all returning teachers and staff please report to the teacher break room to sign and complete your re-evaluation packets."
It was that time of year. Summer was over, the school year was back in session and I was desperately waiting for it to be over again. Don't get me wrong, I loved my job. I just loved sleeping-in, watching my lifetime movies, and not grading papers even more. I sauntered from the school courtyard—next to where my classroom is located all the way the front of the building — to the teacher work room.
"Welcome to the 2016-2017 School Year, we, The KSBS Administrative Board thank you for returning for another year school year..." I read the usual same exact welcoming on the staff bulletin board they've been using since, probably, the beginning of time as I entered inside of the lounge before taking the nearest empty seat.
"Looking good, Mahlia," David, pronounced Day-veed, instead of Day-vid, sung as he took the empty seat to the right of me and handed me a thick packet titled 'Teacher Clauses'. "How was your summer?"
David's been here a little longer than me, he actually trained met the first week and ever since then we've clicked.
"Not long enough," I sighed as I took the packet out of his hands. "How about you?"
"It was definitely long," he winked, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. "If you get what I mean."
I got what he meant, David's also been on the hunt looking for a man that he won't get bored with. Which shouldn't be hard given he's insanely attractive, hell, if he wasn't gay I'd bang that in a heartbeat.
Yet, I didn't say anything as I relocated my attention towards the packet.
My heart was heavy as I read the papers. This was unusual considering that I've never had the desire to 'fraternize' with coworkers within the three years I've been at Kennel Strait Boarding School. I'm glad to say that this was a first for me.
This school was heavily populated with nothing but trust fund and 'rich' bratty kids. Not to forget the uncles, aunts, grandfathers, moms, and dads of said kids were basically all of the staff. Except me of course, I actually got my job on accident but I wouldn't dare tell anyone that.
The more I blended it, the better.

I glared at the words as my brain contemplated on whether or not if this was just the nerves talking or if I really wanted to agree to the terms I've never actually had a problem with. If anything these terms has saved me from a handful of awkward dates. So why couldn't I just sign the two dotted lines at the bottom?
"Just look at him," my coworker and childhood friend, Harriet Dunn, who was sat to my left, whispered in a dreamy sigh, staring at the man that stood before us, Dr. Lucas. I heard he was certainly a man who would cause many heads to turn — of course, regardless if it was appropriate or not.
My breathing caught in my throat as I set eyes on the man behind all of the incessant gossip and pubescent whispers and secrets. I never really took the rumors seriously. Who does? First, they're rumors for a reason and the teachers here surprisingly loved to gossip — even a little more than the students.
But, I now understood why his presence rattled the teachers like no other, this man was pure sin on legs. Hot and incredibly toned ass legs at that. Oddly enough, something about him felt vaguely familiar.
I just couldn't put my finger on it, almost like I've met him before.
"Why is he eye-raping you?" I glanced up from the papers and searched the lounge room full of staff until finally making direct eye contact with a set of piercing blue, speckled with just the right amount green, orbs.
I chuckled, as if brushing off the idea and glanced back at the dotted lines, but when I turned back to him, the laugh caught in my throat. My pulse skipped, and a hot flush crept over my body.
Why was he staring at me? His razor-sharp jaw was clenched as his eyes assessed me as if he was searching for something in particular. We held each other's gazing for about what seemed like forever until he finally clear his throat and moved to the center of the room.
"Attention," his deep, rich, baritone voice sliced through the air. "My name is Dr. Sean Lucas, your temporary Dean since as most of you know, Mrs. Webber is out on maternity leave. First, I would like to welcome and thank all of you for coming back to KSBS."
A few 'thank yous' and 'hellos' echoed the room, I even heard an 'I'll gladly welcome you back", whom of which I believe came from Melissa, the front desk receptionist who had to be in her mid- 50's.
"Keep your grandma panties on, Melissa," Harriet remarked seconds after, rolling her eyes at the inappropriate comment from the receptionist.
"I have high expectations this year as any dean, the main one being the no-fraternization rule," I don't know why but my face and neck flushed as soon as the words left his lips. His stare lifted back to mine before clearing his throat once more.
My eyes involuntarily zoned in on his hands, they were big with broad fingers. The perfect size and weight to apply just the right amount of pressure to...
The idea snapped me back into reality, a million thoughts raced through my head as I start to remember that night. That one unforgettable and toe-tingling night.
Well, I'll be damned, I've already broken the one and only rule.
ANDDDDDDD THAT'S IT FOR THIS SNIPPET/SNEAK PEAK GUYS!
