Lightning_Stryker Presents: An Interview with Peter Pan and Laney Riverdale

Hello everyone! My name is Jay! You may have seen me before either on the 'Clubs' portion of Wattpad or through the many comments I leave while reading stories. This is my first time participating in the #WattpadBlockParty , so a huge shoutout to @KellyAnneBlount who organized this entire event!

I've been writing on Wattpad for about two years now and during that time, I've been able to finish many books. Today, I will be presenting an interview with the two main characters of The Lost Boy Series. We first met Laney Riverdale and Peter Pan over in my short story, Peter. There we discovered that Laney was just a simple girl who needed to be reminded that she mattered. She wanted to feel cared for, to feel like she was more than just a soul blending into the peeling paint on the wall.

Peter was the boy who knew just how to heal her.

Many people enjoyed the modern twist on the Peter Pan tale, becoming emotionally invested in the complex relationship between the two main characters. With a mix of fantasy, romance, and adventure, The Lost Boy Series is the perfect combination for readers who enjoy all different genres!

So without further ado, I think it's best that I pass the mic over to the characters!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Jenna: Hello there all of you beautiful people! My name is Jenna and I will be hosting the interview today! Many of you may know me for my appearance in The Lost Boy Series as your favorite redheaded bestie, but for those of you who don't know me.....I'm sure you're really going to want to get to!

So without further ado, it's time to introduce our main stars of the day!

First up is our favorite flying friend! The boy who has all of the girls screaming 'Take me to Neverland too!', here is Peter Pan!

*Peter comes out with his signature grin, waving to all of the readers*

Peter: Thank you! Thank you all for having me today! By the way, love the introduction Jenna. That was perfect.

Jenna: Oh thank goodness! I was working on that all night!

Peter: Can't wait to hear the next one.

Jenna: Oh, this one is even better! Check it out!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Prepare your eyes for one of the most average teenage girls who spends her nights reading anatomy books and eating Chinese food. Give it up for the woman, the myth, the legend- Laney Gwendolyn Riverdale! Yes, give it up for my main girl! She deserves some love too!

*Laney awkwardly shuffles, making sure not to trip over her Converse. After shooting a quick glare at Jenna, she takes a seat beside her male companion.*

Jenna: So nice of you to join us, Laney! How's it going?

Laney: Eh, not too bad. Just been busy lately. It takes a lot of energy working on the third book in your series. Apparently Jay thinks I'm going to stick around for another two books....? Let's see how that works out.

Peter: *gasps* You're planning on leaving me?

Jenna: Goodness Laney, you can't leave! You still have a story to tell! Plus I need someone to talk about hot guys with.

*Peter rolls his eyes and grins*

Jenna: Okay, I'm sorry. I get easily distracted. So with that being said, let's head into our first question before I get off topic again.

Laney and Peter, can you describe 'The Lost Boy Series' in your own words?

Peter: Of course I can! Matter of fact, I can do it in just a few words. The Lost Boy Series is the most exhilarating, suspenseful, seductive-

*Laney slaps Peter in his shoulder*

Peter: Ow! Hey...what was that for?

Laney: It is not seductive you dork!

Peter: *chuckles* I know. I was just joking! But on a more serious note, I would say that The Lost Boy Series really puts a different spin to the Peter Pan tale. I've heard that there's a very scary one and then there's a cutesy Dolty version-

Laney: Disney. It's Disney! Ohmypixiedust this boy... *facepalms*

Peter: Oh, right. It's Disney. Oops.

But either way, I think that this version is a good combination of seriousness and fluff. It's has a bit of a deeper story than the Disney version, but in the end I think it really sends a good message to the readers.

Jenna: Anything to add to that Laney?

Laney: Well, I would have to agree with Peter. I think this version puts a whole new dynamic to the story, especially since many people were expecting me to be Wendy and well....I'm nothing like her *nervously chuckles*.

But besides that, I do think we're able to see a lot of my character's development. I was pretty insecure because I didn't really know how to love and cherish myself, but Peter here really knocked some sense into me!

Jenna: Aw how sweet! I can't get over how cute you two are!

*Both Peter and Laney blush*

Jenna: And now that both of you are bright red, it's time to go to our next question:

Laney, your middle name was not revealed until just now. Why is that so?

Peter: This is on you, Lane!

Laney: Well I think so many people were obsessed with the fact I wasn't Wendy but...in reality, I guess my middle name makes me a bit closer to her character.

Jenna: And why is that?

Laney: Well Gwendolyn can be broken down as Gwen for short, but it is also a variant of the name Wendy.

Jenna: Ooooh girl, how cool is that?

Laney: *shrugs* Pretty cool I guess! People have been wondering if there was any connection between my character and hers, so here's another random fact to fangirl/fanboy over.

Jenna: Right! Now even I can't help but go and think about the connection!

Laney: Please don't go all Nancy Drew on me. I would have to demote you to the 'acquaintance' rank.

Jenna: Um no...I'm bestie and I will always be bestie.

And with that being said, onto question three!

To celebrate the fact that The Lost Boy Series has been so successful, five bonus chapters were just released. Peter, I can't help but comment on how adorable your brother seems to be. Has he ever left Neverland?

Peter: Ohmypixiedust, no! If Finn ever left Neverland, he would eat everyone out of house and home!

Jenna: Oh, is that so?

Peter: It's highly probable. He's a great kid, he really is. I couldn't have asked for a better brother, but man that kid could eat!

Jenna: Well I certainly hope we get to see more of him soon!

Laney: Oh, you'll be seeing him again. No doubt about that. *grins*

Jenna: I'll just make sure to hide my food. And if he's anything like you Peter, I think I'll start with hiding my Poptarts.

Peter: *chuckles* That might be a good place to start.

Jenna: And now it's time for question four!

There's also a story related to The Lost Boy Series on Tap app. It is called 'Texts from Thomas'. What does this spinoff provide for fans of The Lost Boy Series? And are you surprised that it nearing 2 million Taps?

Laney: Well a pretty big event happens in book 3 of the series, and Texts from Thomas revolves around the details of that. The main male protagonist is a boy named Thomas who appears in book two which is titled Pan.

Jenna: *cough cough* I think you're missing a very important detail here....

Laney: And Jenna is also the main female protagonist and I think she does such a great job.

Jenna: Yay!

Laney: Honestly, it's really hard talking about this spinoff without giving too much away.

Peter: There's something I could agree with! But Jenna, I gotta give it to you. You really did a great job.

Jenna: Aw, thank you boo! The story is doing pretty great by itself though!

Peter: It really is though! When I first found out that it was featured on Tap, I was astonished!

Laney: Yeah, his first reaction to the news was, 'No! Thomas is going to be more famous than me!' *laughs*

Jenna: That's hilarious! And being able to say that it's number of Taps is in the MILLIONS is absolutely insane! There's so much love and support for this story! I just want to hug every single cutie who has checked it out!

You can totally check out Texts from Thomas over on the Tap app! The link is also in Jay's bio so feel free to take a visit to @Lightning_Stryker 's profile!

Peter: Do it. You won't regret it, I promise.

Jenna: But enough about me! Let's get back to the main stars of the interview! Time for the next question!

A series directory was just released and there's an unnamed spinoff coming in 2018. Care to spill any details?

*Peter and Laney exchange a glance*

Laney: Oh man, we're going into restricted territory now.

Peter: Yeah, I don't know if we're technically allowed to say anything about it...

Jenna: Is it the spinoff for Finnegan Pan?

Peter: *grins* Actually, no. It's not my brother's spinoff, but it's for another character.

Jenna: Have we met this character yet?

Peter: Crazy you should mention that, but no. We have not met this particular character.

Laney: I know we're basically teasing because it can literally be anyone we're talking about. But with that being said, I can guarantee that it's going to be uber important to the series. We get a lot of information in this spinoff that's going to be relevant to the series later on.

Peter: A lot of it has to do with the origins of Neverland. This particular character has seen the other side to Neverland- the side that's unforgiving. I think this installment will definitely open your eyes to the fact that Neverland is far from perfect.

Jenna: I'm suddenly scared to read it....it sounds eerie.

Peter: *shrugs* Neverland isn't a perfect place. Even I can admit it.

Jenna: Well then...I look forward to see what's in store.

And now we head into the next question.

Recently, we had quite a cool character enter the scene. In the third installment, we get to see Jack Frost enter the series for the first time. How was it to work with him?

Laney: Goodness, he's a drama king. He is probably the most sassy character in the series. Well, maybe the second sassiest one. I think I have the number one spot occupied.

Peter: I can understand why you two didn't get along at first. You two are so similar that it's actually kind of scary.

Laney: Yeah, you're right. *laughs*

Peter: But besides that, I think Jack is a pretty chill person. I've known him since I was a young kid and we grew up in the same town. Even though we're two very different beings, we have a ton of similarities. He's like a wiser brother to me and he's really great at giving advice. I certainly think that Jack Frost was a great addition to our cast.

Laney: And honestly, I can say the same. It takes a while for him to warm up to people since he's a very independent person, but he's definitely a nice person once you get to truly know his intentions.

Jenna: *blushes* Well he sure sounds mysterious....

Peter: Jenna, why are you turning red?

Laney: Wait, what's going on here? Jenna do you li-

Jenna: And now I think it's time for the next question! Um..yeah...

So a lot of readers here have not really heard of The Lost Boy Series. What kind of reader do you think it's suited for?

Peter: Oh man, that's a tough question. You know, the series originally started out as this cute little story about self-love and self-esteem, but I really think that it has a combination of so many elements.

Laney: Yeah, like it has a fantasy element since you're dealing with the differences between Earth and Neverland. It is definitely considered teen fiction since the main setting of the first book is in a high school. We were both so young back then! Time flies so fast!

Peter: Right! Those were the good ol' days.

But like we were saying earlier, The Lost Boy Series is also classified under the short story genre because the first story was only about 10,000 words long. A lot of readers actually finished the whole book in less than an hour.

Jenna: Seriously? That's so impressive!

Peter: Yeah! What can I say? Our readers are amazing!

Laney: Before we change subjects, I'd just also like to say that it's definitely good for readers who like fairytale retellings. For some reason Jay seems to like those a bit too much.

Also, it's highly suited for readers who like uplifting, touching stories.

Peter: *chuckles* I was just scrolling through the comments left the other day and I died of laughter. Some of these readers are so dedicated and get so emotionally invested in the story. Seriously, I love you all so much.

*blows a kiss*

Jenna: Okay, you shared one kiss. Save the rest for Laney. *smirks*

Laney: *turns bright red*

Peter: But to answer your question, I think The Lost Boy Series is suited for any type of reader because it combines so many different aspects and elements. I hope to see you all there! *winks*

Jenna: And on that totally awkward note, here comes our last question:

How much do you love your fans?

Peter: To Neverland and back! If it weren't for all of your love and support, this story never would have gotten the amazing response that it has. You all seriously inspire me to be a better character every single day. I may have my ups and downs but you all are seriously some of the most amazing people to have ever roamed Earth. And I truly mean that.

Jenna: How about you Laney?

Laney: *nods* I have to agree with Peter. There have been a ton of comments left here on Wattpad and on social media about how much people love the story. I hope that my personal story inspires others to love themselves.

I know there are tons of kids out there- the ones who try to blend in the background. Regardless if you're feeling down or just like you don't matter, I want you to know that you're important. You matter.

The first chapter of Peter really did a good job in highlighting the feelings and insecurities that I was experiencing at that point in my life. These feelings are ones that a lot of people experience at a certain point in their life and I wanted to convey those emotions to the readers to let them know that they aren't alone. It's almost too easy to lose faith nowadays with the messages being sent from the media, but you can't give up on yourself.

Jenna: Wow, that's really deep.

Laney: Yeah. But my fans mean the entire world to me. They're my oxygen, my sunshine. They're the ones who make me wake up with a smile on my face.

Peter: *scoffs* And I don't?

Laney: *sarcastically smirks* Nah, not really.

Jenna: Well thank you all for tuning into that very long, ultra exclusive interview with Peter Pan and Laney Riverdale!
