Foreversmilin' Presents: All About LaZY: LOTUS, ZOEY AND YAS

Presenting All About LaZY: LOTUS, ZOEY AND YAS

HELLO MY FELLOW WATTPADERS!

How are you doing, loves? Hope your day has been wonderful so far. I'm @foreversmilin, also known as Yas. Through this incredible chance I've gotten to participate on the Wattpad Block Party, I will be answering your questions along with Zoey Hunter from, Lotus from Flawed Souls and Rosemary from Smile, Rosemary, so that you can get a chance to know them and me better.

First up, the creator of these cool women: Yas, aka Foreversmilin, aka me.

Q:How old were you when you first began writing?

13!

Q: What is some advice to aspiring writers?

Remember that Wattpad is a site to help you write, not a site where the goal is to be popular. Write because you want to share your feelings and put your heart on a sleeve, not because you want to be known on Wattpad. Write from your heart before your mind.

Q: Who encourages you the most to continue writing?

Myself. I've never wanted to stop writing. It's my escape from the world. I get to create my own universe and characters, let out my feelings, get into someone else's body for a little while. I don't think I'll ever stop writing.

Q: What made you start writing?

Wattpad! My friend showed me Wattpad, I read stories on it for ages. And then, one of our favorite stories stopped updating and we wrote chapters for it on paper, as a competition to see which one is better. Eventually, I made myself a Wattpad and began to write for myself.

Q:One thing you'd tell your younger self.

STOP STRESSING OUT. Seriously. You're always freaking out, always over-thinking. Take a deep breath, enjoy every day and bask in your childhood, it goes away fast. Everything will happen the way it's supposed to.

Q:If you could describe yourself with one word, what would that word be?

Clumsy. In everything I do, I always trip on something. The other day, I was trying to make tea with lemon and ended up breaking the tea bag, dropping the lemon inside the cup of tea and spilling hot water on the counter in less than 30 seconds. But I love it.

Q:Do you ever randomly come up with an idea for your book and write it down?

All the time. Let's say I watched a movie about basketball, I get an idea to create two rival teams competing for a championship cup and make the team captains have a thing—oups. I've said too much.

Q:How do your parents feel about your books?

Proud, which makes them overbearing sometimes. My mom brags about me to everyone. It's humiliating and adorable, but I love her. Of course, neither one has read anything I've written because they don't like to read, which is good for me.

Q:Do your classmates know that you write popular books?

All of them. When I published AUKOL, I told everyone to get their support, which I did. My class was incredibly sweet about it, and 1/3 of them have copies of AUKOL at home, even the guys.

Q: How do YOU pronounce 'Wattpad'?

Are there a million ways, hahah? Watt-pad.

Q:How long does it take you to write a chapter?

A few hours, on good days.

Q:What do you do when you're going through writer's block?

Take a break, listen to music, or close my eyes and imagine that I'm in the character's brain.

Q:What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

In Med school, maybe. Applying to be a pediatrician. Hopefully engaged to someone. Happy and working hard. Still writing, maybe published a book.

Q:What's your favorite color?

All shades of blue. I have a friend with blue eyes, they're quite enticing. But pale blue on people always looks nice, I believe.

Q: Have you ever been heart-broken?

Hm. I don't think so. But I think my heart has been stomped on a lot. I know what heart-break looks like, through my friends. I write about it to avoid it, if that makes sense. If I prepare myself for it, I might face it better.

Q: What inspires you?

Everything. From a simple object to a person. I'm imaginative.

Q:What is a random fact about you?

I laugh at everything. Seriously, everything. When I get uncomfortable, when I'm happy, when I'm sad. At bad jokes, at good jokes, at my own jokes. It's embarassing sometimes, I won't deny that! I have a habit of putting laughter up as a shield, because if I smile at everything, the bad things won't seem as bad.

Q: Did you ever think "Mailboy" would become so popular?

I think I've always known the concept would get views. I started writing parts of it, the first 5 chapters and then I stopped for almost 6 months. But just by then, it already had 100k views. I had a feeling that with time, it would get popular. BUT, 13 million views popular? NO WAY.

Q: How do you create such vivid characters?

There's a lot I could do better with my characters. But, I guess I just imagine them to be real. I try to write a list of flaws and qualities and portray them through their actions. For example, when Zoey begged Nico to stay with her; she was being selfish.

Q: How do you find the perfect ending for a story?

You have two choices, a cliffhanger or a settling ending. I opt for cliffhangers, because I get so much joy out of torturing my readers ahahaha. You choose one, plan it out and voila!

Now, on to Zoey Willow Hunter, the main character of Mailboy and Artgirl.

Q:Was there ever a time you felt like you just wanted to leave everything and get on a plane to see Nico?

No, never. When I was sixteen, he made me feel like I wasn't worth loving. He made me think that if he didn't love me, I couldn't be loved by anyone else. And I hated that. I hated him for so long.

Q:How did your friends help you during the "break up" with Nico?

Constant trash talks about him, hahah! They defended me, stood by me, hugged me when I needed it. They also reminded me that I was better off without him. Diana and Lucy, at the time, called me for hours. James taught me how to fight. Joel made me laugh.

Q:Do you have any advice to girls going through situations similar to yours?

He, or she, Is. Not. Worth. It. A person who shatters you is not worth you throwing away all the pieces. You're whole; don't ever let anyone let you think otherwise. You're not a half; you're whole on your own. You deserve someone who will accept you completely, kiss you when you're crying, give you their fries if you still want more, remind you that you're beautiful when you forget.

Q:If you could change anything about how you met Nico, what would it be?

I think, I would've been better off meeting him at seventeen or even at eighteen. I was so young and naïve when I met him, but then again, if I hadn't, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

Q:If you didn't learn Oliver's true colors, would you still have a crush on him?

No.

Q:How often do you speak to Amir and the others?

Since I moved to England, barely. I keep up with them on social media, but even there, it's hard. We've all moved on with our lives, but I'm sure we will never forget about each other.

Q:Who do you see yourself ending up with in the future?

Someone who will make everything I've gone through worth it.

Q:What is one thing you would do differently from the past?

Spend more time with my loved ones.

Q:Where do you see yourself in five years?

Maybe engaged to someone. Teaching art at a kindergarten, or still taking care of the shop, which would be bigger and better. I'd be back in Canada or still in England, depending of the circumstances.

Q:Describe your relationship with Nico in five words.

Weird, relieving, weird, strange, and have I mentioned weird?

Q:Would you ever ( if you had the power..) rewind everything that happened when you were 16?

No.

Q:Do you think you will ever forgive Nico? Or James?

I don't know.

Q: Do you regret moving to England?

Sometimes. But at the same time, I don't. I'm trying to build a new life and experience the world, but of course, that won't come without consequences.

Q: Do you think James was a rebound?

Absolutely not. I had gotten over Nico for a while. When things started up with James, Nico was the farthest thing in my mind. He and I got a fresh start, our friendship merged into with love.

AND THAT IS IT FOR ZOEY HUNTER, FOLKS! On to our final interviewee, Lotus Marie! She stars in Flawed Souls.

Q: Do you think you will ever fall in love again after the incident?

Well, I've always thought that I'll fall in love with someone to the point that my mind blanks out with them. It happened with West. But, I think it will happen again. I can find better. It was never my fault, I've learnt to deal with that and accept it. Yeah, I've gotten my heart broken. Yeah, I cried about it. But, it's only the sad story that I'll tell my kids when I meet the one I'll spend my life with.

Q:What's the best way to find your 'happiness'?

You let go. You let go of all the stress, the hate, the pressure of being someone you're not. And you hold on to one thing: hope. You hold onto hope and cross your fingers that it'll end up alright, because it will, eventually.

Q:How did you see the world after you have experienced your heartbreak?

Black and white. I had trouble with trust. I could barely talk to my parents. I stopped talking to my friends for a while, in fear of them hating me, like West did. I hated the world, because I thought it hated me back.

Q:Will you love West forever?

No. He has a piece of my heart and will never give it back, but with time, that piece has shrunken into a particle. My heart has opened up to more, in life.
