Tell us a little bit about yourself

I am a mother of three crazy boys. In 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo chemo. During one of my treatments, I was reading a story in a magazine about a young writer in her twenties who had just signed a publishing deal. In her bio it mentioned that she got her start by posting stories on Wattpad. I had always dreamed of writing a book (I'm a former reporter turned public affairs professional...so I write a lot, but writing a novel is different) and would start, but never quite finish. When I started posting on Wattpad, readers comments really pushed me to complete my story. One year after reading the magazine, my first book, Jump Line, was featured on Wattpad. I have since completed a second book and fingers crossed, my first adult romance will be finished by this summer. I'm truly one of those believers that when life gives you lemons...don't just make lemonade...make so much more. Lemons are used in lots of successful recipes. :)

What genre do you write in? Why are you drawn to the genre?

Young Adult, Sci-Fi and Romance-lite

What is your most memorable moment on Wattpad?

I don't have one memorable moment, but I really do appreciate all of the writers I've met through this site. It's been an amazing journey.

Do you think that writing on a platform such as Wattpad has helped you grow as a writer?

Yes. Definitely. I've seen a huge amount of growth in my writing.

What advice can you give to those that are just starting out on theironline writing journey?

Stay with it!

What books have most influenced your life most?

I have to admit, the books I was forced to read in high school for English class are still some of my favorites and influential: A Separate Peace, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Lord of the Flies, The Crucible.

Recipe Name: Sausage Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers

Is there a special story behind the recipe? If so can you tell us a little bit about it?

I love these things!

Ingredients:

18 Jalapeños

1.5 8-ounce packages of Cream Cheese

1 lb. Pork Sausage

1 c. Shredded Cheddar Cheese

1/2 c. Parmesan Cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Cut jalapeños in half (long) and remove the seeds

Cook Sausage

In separate bowl, mix in cream cheese, cooked sausage, cheddar and parmesan cheeses

Fill each jalapeño half with a spoonful of the mixture

Bake until they are golden brown on the top (about 20 minutes)
