Today was the day before the formal. Elain still hadn't asked Annabelle. STILL. WHY?! Well Xeno had just about had it. He had gotten the best idea of all time. School had not yet started, but he knew that he would be late, due to the plan.
He was walking towards the hospital, one that I will not name, because I'd not like to give away where I live. He was going to the hospital to get something important to the plan... something... essential...
He reached the door and hesitated. He wasn't sure if this was the best idea. Eh, whatever. He pushed open the doors calmly, staggering as he walked. He limped up to the lady at the front desk, coughed a few times, and looked upward dramatically.
"I... I have ingested *cough* rat poison!! Please!! I need medication to help!!" Xeno said through fake tears. He coughed a few times, and luckily she turned out to be a rookie.
"Oh, you poor baby! I'll go get the rat poison antidote that just so happens to be in the back room!" She said, dashing off to the back. Xeno did a small, unnoticeable fist pump before sitting down. Not three minutes later, she was back with the antidote.
"Thanks, miss!" Xeno said, sickly. He slowly walked out the door and did a quick victory dance before trudging towards his school.

Xeno got to school just in time. He wasn't late after all! He sat by his locker and input the code. The door swung open with ease. He got out his English binder, folder, book, and pencil pouch. He also pulled two more things out. The rat poison medication and a small bottle of rat poison that he had acquired from Costco. (Thanks Costco.) He shoved both things into the front pocket of his hoodie.
He closed his locker and stood up. Xeno questioned his actions for a second, but just for a second, because he was proud of his idea and he'd gone through with every last bit of it. Now came the fun part.
Xeno walked into homeroom, waving at Annabelle. He walked over towards her and Bobby at no particular pace. He had placed his things on his desk, he had his hands in his pockets, protecting the poison. They talked and chatted for all of homeroom like normal, and she had no idea what was about to happen.

There it was! The final bell before lunch! It was time to put Xeno's plan into action. He put his pencil in his pocket and grabbed his sketchbook. He walked to lunch with Toni, Annabelle, and DJ, for this was the usual routine. He did not want them to know. Yet, at least.
Xeno looked all around the cafeteria for Elain, and finally found him walking towards one of the three lunch lines. He quickly sprinted ahead of him, blocking his position in line. Good. Elain was directly behind Xeno. All was as planned. Now, to make small talk. That was the hard part.
"Hey, buddy-pal-boi-bro! Whaddup?" Xeno exclaimed loudly. Elain looked at him oddly before responding.
"Not much. How's you?" He asked.
"I'M FIIIIIIIIINE," Xeno said, but what he was thinking was completely different. Haha! I'm gonna poison you! I'm gonna poison you good! was what Xeno was thinking at that moment in time.
They were finally at the food. Finally. Some progression! Xeno watched, making sure he knew exactly what Elain was getting, and making sure to get the same thing. Chicken nuggets and fries. McDonald's garbage. Xeno quietly and stealthily poured a small bit of the rat poison on each of his nuggets. When he was done with that, he emptied out the rest of the poison on his fries.
"Hey, Elain? I have one more nugget than you do. Do you want my tray?" Xeno asked. He knew that nobody could turn down an extra nugget. Elain nodded and they switched trays. As Xeno turned around, he smiled. It wasn't a happy smile, or a sinister one. It was a smile of one who was truly insane.
Xeno payed for his food, and left for his table, where DJ, Annabelle, Toni, David, Matthias, and Gabe were already waiting for him. Good. Everyone would see it. Everyone at the table would witness his masterpiece!
"Why are you smiling like that?" DJ asked as Xeno sat down. Xeno sat, adjusted and reached in his pocket. He pulled out the empty poison bottle and slammed it down on the table. Annabelle gasped and Matthias fainted. Toni and DJ were staring at Xeno like he was a madman. Well, I mean, he was laughing uncontrollably, but he wasn't a madman... he was... what's another word for insane?
"That's not real. Nope," Annabelle said. Just at that moment, a small drip of yellow-brown liquid dripped from the nozzle of the bottle, for it was on its side. Annabelle covered her mouth, and leaned back.
"You're crazy," she said, shocked.
"It was for the greater good," Xeno said, "Plus, I have the antidote." During all all of this, Xeno never once dropped the smile. Suddenly, at the table next to them, someone started violently coughing. Xeno smiled even wider.
"Oh my god, Elain!" Annabelle yelled, running towards Elain. He was about to fall over when Annabelle caught him, right on time. She was kneeling and crying and holding him, watching him suffer the effects of the poison in his system.
"I, uh, was going to ask you later today at *cough* swim meet, but I don't think I'm gonna *cough cough* get around to it. Ha ha..." Elain said, softly.
"What? What did you want to ask me?" Annabelle asked impatiently.
"Would you *cough* go to the formal with me?" Elain asked sweetly. Then he vomited on the floor.
"AAAAAAND CUT!" Xeno yelled. He smiled wildly and tossed the antidote at Elain. "Don't worry. It was a nonlethal dosage!"
Annabelle walked up to Xeno and slapped him in the face. He staggered backward and sat back down.
"Told ya it would work!" Xeno exclaimed. Everybody looked at him with utter disgust, except Elain and Annabelle who where hugging.
And they all happily ever after! Except Xeno who got sued, lost the case, and went to jail. But it was worth it!
