Book Review: The Good Girl's Bad Boys
The Good Girl's Bad Boys: The Good, The Bad, and The Bullied by RubixCube89201
Hi guys! Welcome to what I hope will be a book club between me, you and 3 thousand other people. It's an open space for all of us, so pull up a chair and have a big mug of hot cocoa and get ready to feel like I've looked into your soul. Comments are more than welcome!
I thought for my debut book review here on Wattmag, I'd do a book that spoke to me on a personal level.
Okay, I don't know where you've been, but you haven't had the true Wattpad experience until you read the beautiful tale of Naomi Lorraine and her jaw dropping bad boys. It's classed under humor, (which is a total understatement) but once you delve into the world of TGGBB then you aren't coming out unscathed.
The story is based around the super intelligent protagonist Naomi Lorraine, who is bullied mercilessly at the hands of her peers. The baddest boys of her high school are the three musketeers: Bennett Frazier, Jordan Wallace, and Declan Lynch. All in one day, Naomi catches their attention one by one. But if you thought that this would be a regular cliché story that you've seen countless times on Wattpad then you're wrong. Get ready for a true Wattpad classic
We are introduced into Naomi's world when a load of students are gossiping about her through an online chat room. The story then cuts to Naomi and her regular day, she then meets each musketeer in different scenarios. She leaves her unique impact on each of them.
This book is actually one of the sweetest books I have ever read. It deals with a topic 77% of students face, RubixCube89201 has handled it so well that it touches you in such a way that you connect with the characters on a personal level. Rubix handles the topic ever so subtly and it's really impressive. I can guarantee that you will fall in love with it.
Not only is the plot well constructed, the actual structure shows you how much time and effort was put into it. The writer has a concise structure throughout her chapters and unlike countless of other books on Wattpad, she doesn't skip from one part of the story to the next (which can be REALLY annoying for me). It's a lengthy book and appeases the mind. Rubix challenges and subconsciously makes you theorize what the characters next moves are. THAT, MY FRIENDS, IS A RECIPE FOR A GOOD BOOK: a story that completely invests you in its world and the events that take place, leaving you with eagerness to watch how it will all unfold.
This book ranks very high on my book list, so give it a chance and you'll see that wise old Jenna was right. If you've already read it before, let me know what your thoughts on it were as I'd love to discuss.
See you guys next month!
