Chapter Sixty Four

Another Spain Picture!

Tanya calms the wind to allow all the seabirds to fly better. There are thousands all different sizes and breeds, flocking around the ships. I watch as they shift in mid-air, landing on the decks of the ships with elegant grace, their silver armour the same shade as the water rising around them. They fight those on board the ships, moving with the rising and falling boats with grace. This is a complete sea battle. It is utter chaos. There is an underwater explosion on one of the ships and it lurches violently, wood spraying everywhere.
"If they weaken the magic on the ships," the High Queen starts, "then they will be able to take more damage from your magic," she tells us.

"Tanya, Serenity!" I shout. They nod, shifting into their dragon forms. I jump onto Tanya's back and Toryn gets onto Serenity. Without hesitation, they take off into the sky. We fly over the ships and look at what is going on bellow. The Greybite army fight the onboard NightShades. There are so many NightShades, but they seem to be defeating them with ease. More explosions rock the ships, happening under the water. My guess it is so the water animals can get into the ships as well as to help sink the great war vessels. We watch as the ships weaken and the become more damaged by the ocean and the wind.

Tanya sweeps down to one of the ships, blasting a burst of powerful wind along the decks, causing the ship to break and splinter. She grabs two NightShades in her claws and lifts them into the sky, dropping them into the ocean. As they get close to hitting the ocean, a huge great white shark launches out of the water, catching them in its mouth and tearing them apart. Andrea! The shark disappears beneath the surface. I watch as Serenity attacks another ship, her and Toryn have landed on it and they both fight. Tanya sweeps down again, flying alongside the ship and blasting more shots of powerful wind, creating huge holes in the side of the boat. We land on the deck again and Tanya grabs a NightShade that had pinned down one of the warriors and tears him apart. She takes off again, taking more NightShades with her. We head toward another boat. I let out a shout as I see a big black spear heading straight toward us.

"Tanya!" I scream in a panic. My sister twists her body and the spear bounces off the scales on her stomach. I, however, lose my grip and fall off her back. As I fall, I twist my body around so that I don't land in the water on my back. My feet enter first and then I an consumed by the raging ocean. It surrounds me, throwing me around like a rag doll. I smile, loving the feeling. I watch as a great shark looms toward me. It is Andrea. She twists, allowing me to grab hold of her body and pull me along. She carries me through the water toward the ships. I can see now, what they have been doing beneath the waves. I can see the massive holes in the bottom of the boats, filling them with water. Debris and bodies float around them. She goes into one of the boats and swims around the sunken passages. Together, we dispatch of any floating NightShades. We do this for a while, going in and out all the boats, destroying and killing anything in our way. Whilst my siblings and the warriors attack from above, the sea creatures attack from below. I spot Queen Sophie. My eyes widen as she swims with power and slams straight into the side of the ship, causing a great hole to appear. There is a cloud of blood after she enters and mauled bodies begin to float out from the gap she just made. As the ships weaken, I use my water ability. Pushing the oceans waters into the ships and filling them. Making them sink.

"Isla," Toryn's voice rings in my head. "The ships are weak enough for us to use our powers, see if you can get all the Greybite's evacuated," he tells us. I tap on Andrea's back. She swims up to the surface and shifts. We float on the surface of the water.

"My siblings can use their powers now, we need all of your warriors off and away from the boats!" I shout at her. She nods and shifts back again. She gets the message to her mother and quickly, all the warriors begin to leave. I watch as hundreds of seabirds fly from the ships at once. Big black clumps twisting around in the air as they abandon ship. Beneath the water, all the ocean shifters swim away and shift once close to the rocks, then begin to climb up. I climb up with them. The army gathers on the cliffs, the seabirds shifting to stand in a line along the cliff edge, watching the sinking ships. Though we have damaged them heavily at the moment, that doesn't mean that in the state they are in, they can't reach our lands still.

"They think we've given up," Queen Sophie says. I nod my head as I can hear the victory screeches coming from the ships. I look up to the sky and smile. I make the clouds darker, thicker. I make the rain pour heavily. I look back out to sea again as the warships still approaching. From the dark clouds, a shadow appears. Then, a huge red dragon bursts from them with two smaller dragons on each side. I smile as Toryn sweeps over the ships, blowing waves upon waves of burning flames over the decks. They consume the ships. Tanya and Serenity work alongside him. Tanya destroys the ships using her wind powers and Serenity catches all those who try to jump off to escape. My brother, though huge, flies with grace and power. It isn't long before the ships are just burning wood.

"There are survivors in the water," I say to Queen Sophie. "Would you like to finish them off?" I ask. She smiles.

"Definitely," she nods. The sea animal shifters all jump off the cliffs and into the water again for the final attack. Toryn and my siblings fly overhead, the ground almost shaking as Toryn sweeps over. He lands behind us, shifting back into his human form. His skin is pale as he stands next to me. I lean into him, knowing that the shift takes a toll on him.

"Thank you," I say again.

"Next time, you're shifting," he sighs. I chuckle. I'm still not allowed to shift. They are worried it will re-open all my internal wounds. Tanya and Serenity appear next to us and we all look out at the burning ships and the bloody water.

"For now, we are safe," the High Queen says. I nod my head. "They'll try again though and their magic is growing. Soon, we won't be able to stop them reaching land." No one says anything as we realise that it is true. Today we are safe, tomorrow may be a completely different story.
