"Katara, we need to go tell everyone now!" I say grabbing her hand and tugging her behind me.
We raced down the steps. Both of us almost tripping on multiple occasions as our small bodies couldn't handle the frightened state we were in. I look around for the closest crowd of people and run to the center.
"BLACK SNOW AND BOATS!" I scream.
People glance around in fear. Anxiety and pressure filled the air after hearing my shouting. Once I was positive the message was heard, I grabbed Katara's hand one more time and pull her behind me, trying my best to get us as far away from the boats as possible. Some head to their igloos in fear just like we do, some freeze in fear, but our warriors are quick to run towards the boats to hold them off.
We run back to where we left Sokka before finding our way home.
"Sokka. Black snow," I say panicked.
The large ball of snow in his arms drops and cracks in half. He stares up as the black snow starts to fall into the city. He grabs his boomerang from his bag and a look of determination is found on his face.
"I'm going to find mom," Katara states.
"I need to go home," I tell them.
"I'm finding dad," Sokka states.
We all run our separate ways until I'm stopped by the sound of a familiar shout.
"Unhand me!" I hear a familiar voice scolding a stranger.
"Quiet water tribe peasant!" I hear a stranger say.
Suddenly a mesh netting with metal clasps on the end as weights is thrown at her. Trapping her instantly.
"Momma!" I shout in panic.
Without thinking of any potential consequences, I make a whip with water and slash at the netting to set her free. She looks at me, her eyes wide with fear.
"No! (Y/N), you have to run!" Momma yells to me in fear.
"Not without you Momma!" I wail running to save her from the awful fire nation soldiers.
Fire balls fly above in waves and crash into our surroundings. The ground spreading snow in waves and holes being burned into the ice artic ground. My vision and lungs slowly getting clouded by the smoke. I run faster so that I don't lose sight of my mom. Regrettably, a soldier gets to her before I do. The soldier forcefully grabs my mom's arm tugging her towards him. Rough housing her like a ragdoll that wasn't worth anything. I made a strand of water and whipped at a guard and then tried to hold on to my mom by making the strand of water a lasso. I had tears streaking down my face as I tried to pull her. It was like the most awful game of tug a war.The soldier shot fire in my direction, and I had to let go of Momma to quickly make a wall of ice. My mom took the soldier being distracted as an opportunity to yank herself free and she rushed in the direction of the docked boats.
I hid behind a nearby igloo. My breath was shaky, and it was starting to affect the calm demeanor I needed to bend. The fire came closer, and I sat down trying to look through the smoke and dirty snowflakes. The temperature was starting to heat up as fire was blasted everywhere.
I peeked around the igloo in a desperate attempt to find my mom. She had made it to the dock area and was standing in front of the large enemy ships. My mom used her water bending to create a wave massive enough to mess with the initial boat that was docked in the bay, lifting it up and encasing the lower part of it in snow and ice.
Once I caught sight of her, I ran back in her direction. A giant blast of fire came hurling down next to me, stopping me from reaching her. The large blast disrupted the snow beneath my feet and caused me to fall harshly into the ground. I weakly attempted to get up but had to gasp for air at the harsh pain that I started to feel on my left side. I wince and prop myself up with my right arm and clutched on to me lower stomach only to whimper at the feeling of warm blood coating the palm of my small hand.
I gasp as I see my mom finally in the grasps of another capture. I use what little strength I had to stand up, but before I could bend any water in hopes to assist my mom, I am shoved back into the ground. A soldier is above me while another is on my back, shoving me further into the ground to restrain me while I have shackles and cuffs placed onto me like some of my ancestors.
"Momma!" I shout in hopes for her to save me
"No, no not my baby!" She cries almost shrieking as she tries to make her way toward me.
"Get her!" I hear ordered in the distance.
Time stops as I watch in horror.
The last glimpse of my mother was the most horrendous sight in existence. The sound of her glass shattering screech, groans of pain, and begs for mercy forever being engrained into my mind. The fire engulfing her being as she is burned completely, painfully, and torturously slow.
"NO!" I wail scream crying, trying my best to escape the grasp from these horrible monsters. All of it being worth nothing as I get face full of snow.
I bang my head one last time on the ground and cry.
"What are we to do with this one?" A soldier asks above me
"I already told you we aren't taking prisoners soldier," another voice says sternly
"She's but a child captain!" The soldier says in horror
"Are you disobeying orders now soldier!" The captain says angry
"Sir! "The soldier says in disbelief
"Tch...Fine take it aboard. May her fate rest upon the fire lord," The captain says in disgust.
