I give you a warning to not watch this if you don't want spoilers and a lot of foreshadowing. Also, I made this at like 12 at night. Otherwise have a good day/night :D

I and Xan were looking through the nether for Mumbo when we saw him come out a portal across from us. We hurriedly flew after him, me with my wings and Xan with their watcher wings.

Mumbo looked back at us several times. He looked scared and wouldn't slow down no matter how much I called for him to stop. He went through a random portal that I believe was somewhere near the shopping district. I looked back and saw that Xan was nowhere in sight. I waited and they finally came around the corner. They said that they got caught up trying to kill a ghast that kept attacking us.

We went through the portal just in time to see Mumbo fly off. He was wearing elytra and judging by the way it looked, it seemed he had forgotten to check the durability. I quickly followed him.

We made our way to the edge of the island we were flying over and I saw him hesitantly look back and then forward again. I watched as he flew out over the water. I and Xan quickly followed behind him trying to reach him. Each time we tried to get close to him he would propel himself with a firework.

It looked like he had finally run out of fireworks. He looked back at us in horror as we slowly got closer to him.

Then he started falling.

"MUMBO!!!"

I dove down towards him.

He fell into the water.

I dove into the water and tried to reach him. It seemed like he had just given up. I finally pulled him up with the help of Xan who picked up Mumbo and was carrying him. We quickly flew back to Scars village.

"HEY G! WHAT YOU NEED?!"

I looked down to see Scar below us. I and Xan dove down and landed in front of Scar, startling him.

"There's something wrong with Mumby and when we were chasing him he fell into the water!"

"Wasn't he wearing his elytra?"

"No..."

"Well take him inside and I can take a look at him."

Xan brought Mumbo inside and placed him down on one of the beds.

"I'll wait with him in case he wakes up."

"Huh?"

"We may be afraid that a watcher is possessing him or has done something to his head..."

"I only understood half of that but what I heard was watchers possessing or head so Im assuming its bad."

"Yeah Scar it's bad."

"Alright... Well, he may be out for a couple of hours, he probably won't wake up right now."

"Alright well, I'm going to go see where Iskall is. I think they may be at their base."
"Well bye then."

"Bye Scar!"

I flew over to Iskall's tree first to see if they were there. Surprisingly I thought they would be here. I flew over to Mumbo's base. Maybe they were still here? I landed in Mumbo's base. There didn't seem to be anyone here. I heard some slight whimpering somewhere. I looked all around his base. I couldn't seem to find anyone though. I finally looked between his nether portals.

"G..."

"ISKALL!?! What happened to you?!?"

Iskall was on the floor perfectly still. There was a small pool of blood by their arm and there seemed to be vines piercing through their arms and legs.

"Mumbo... I don't think he meant to... He was just surprised..."

"Mumbo did this to you!!"

"Heh... I mean he didn't... with the vines... He shocked me and... sliced a bit of my arm... "

"Hold on Iskall I'll help you!"

"G Im too heavy for... you to carry-"

I picked Iskall up bridal style and flew into the air.

"Heh... You're stronger than you look..."

I flew towards Scars village, making sure I wouldn't drop Iskall. Flew into the door, opening it, and landed with Iskall still in my arms.

"SCAR!!"
"G!?! Oh, you scared me please don't fly through the door next time."

"Not now Iskall needs assistance!"

I put Iskall down on the bed next to Mumbo's. Scar immediately tried to treat them.

"G, Iskall needs to respawn first so wait a couple of minutes, we need them to be able to move."

"Scar... the vines..."

"Oh! I'm sorry, I forgot about those! I think that they started to come through because you were shocked."

"Didn't you do somethin... with your magic..."

"Yeah. I can just cast the spell again."

I watched as Scar made a light grayish-blue crystal appear out of thin air along with a pair of small vex like wings. He did something with the crystal and put it away.

"All done!"

"Thanks..."

We waited a bit for Iskall to respawn. They finally died and respawned but they still couldn't move their legs.

"Well, maybe I just need to wait..."

We heard coughing from the other side of the room.

"Mumby!"

I ran to the other side of the room where Xan was with Mumbo. Mumbo quickly sat up and looked around. He spotted me and Xan and immediately back up a bit.

"Xan-his eyes..."

"I know Grian. We need to figure out how to snap him out of it."

"O-oh..."

"⸮Ɉɒʜw-W"

Xan and I both stopped and looked at each other.

"Do you know what he just said Grian?"

"I-"

I-

It's more than just the watchers...

Why would this happen?

"Grian!"

"Yeah?"

"What is it? What you were going to say?"

"I-The only time this has happened was when... he was insane..."

"What do you mean by insane?"

"He was super stressed and stuff and basically attacked all of us... And after he was back to normal when he first woke up he was like this-I mean without the purple eyes."

"⸮lɒɿɘᆿ"

"What did he say?"

"I don't know."

Mumbo reached a hand out towards me. He seemed to be touching something in the air. He quickly brought his hand back up to him. He reached his hand out towards Xan but he also seemed to touch something that was in the air. We watched as the purple slowly drained from his eyes leaving a grayish-red color behind.

"G-gri?"

"Mumby? You there?"

The first thing I noticed was how his voice sounded a bit gravely and if you listened closely enough his words sounded a bit backward. Mumbo hesitantly hugged me. He still seemed to be afraid of something.

"You okay?"

"You're okay... I love you..."

"I love you too, Mumby. Are you okay?"

"I-Im fine-"

"Mumby, tell me the truth."

"Im o-okay..."

"Good."

We sat there hugging for a bit. He started crying after a while.

"You good?"

He hesitantly nodded and put his head on my shoulder. I sat on the bed letting him lay against me.

"Hey...Mumbo."

"I-Iskall?"

"Yep...Im here...hold on."

I watched as Iskall pulled himself up.

"Alright...Im try something."

Iskall slowly moved their legs over the side of the bed and slowly stood up, wobbling a bit.

"Whoah, Iskall sit back down you need rest!"

"Im...fine G"

I heard Mumbo wince beside me.

"I-I did that..."

Mumbos voice got a bit deeper and sounded gravelly. I looked at Mumbo to see him just as surprised as I was.

Mumbo looked at me in terror. He took a deep breath and began to speak backward? [Idk what to call it so ima call it backward speaking for now.]

"Grian we know it's them. We shouldn't have to confirm it. His eyes were purple."

"Well, they were both wearing dark purple cloaks, with purple wings, a light purple or pink halo I believe, and they had white masks? I think that's all the stood out to me."

"No...nonono! This is all my fault! None of this would have happened if I stayed and trained or learned what they needed me to..."

"Gri! None of this is your fault! I was the one who ran away from you and attacked you guys!"

"But you also looked like you were attacking me... so it was your fault!"

"But it wasn't you so it couldn't be you..."

"It was your fault I attacked you because you attacked me!"

"But it was mine-its al my fault!"

"Mumbo-"

"But you didn't do anything!"
"But you hurt me! You attacked me!"

"I died! I crumbled to dust!"

"It wasn't your fault though-"

"MUMBO!!!"

"Y-yes..."

Mumbo was in tears and was grabbing his hair.

"I-I told you we're unstable together..."

Insane laughing came from Mumbo.

"Mate, you're the unstable one!"

"You little-"

"Mumbo! Maybe if you lay down and get some rest it will keep you stable! Besides you need actual rest you dont look like you've slept in days..."

"But-"

"No buts you're laying down and getting rest."

Mumbo hesitantly layed down and closed his eyes. I knew he wasn't asleep but It would do for now.

"Hey, Grian? What happened to the necklace? Wasnt it bound to you or something?"

"I uhh got it off but I shattered it in the process..."

"Oh... It's okay. I needed to make me and Suma new ones anyway. They were a bit old and falling apart. Besides, it held bad memories I dont want to remember..."

"Oh well, im still sorry I shattered it. We have something more serious though..."

"I know. I dont know how they got into his head, but I think it may have to do with the barrier. Before you took me from Suma it looked like it was going to shatter. It was barely holding itself together."

"That might be... but let's hope not."

"BRAIDS!!!"

I winced as I heard K stomping up the hall. I knew what I did.

"BRAIDS! WHY DID YOU LET UP YOUR CONTROL ON HIM!!!"

"They had figured it out and had taken him back!"

"I DONT CARE IF THEY KNEW!!!"

"IT WASNT MY FAULT! THEY HAVE THEIR STUPID "I USED TO BE A WATCHER" GUY"

"Then we need to take him back!"

"Why?"
"If we leave him there then he could tell the so-called "Hermits" were our location is and they could try to attack us!"
"So we take them both?"

"Yes. We take him back when we take ̇/ᒷꖎᑑ⚍ᔑ back home with us. We shall begin to teach ̇/ᒷꖎ and uilql shall learn and train beside him. He will be much more useful to us."

"But-"

"B. Get ̇/ᒷꖎ back home to us and make sure to take him as well."

"Them-"

"B. Do your job. Dont start going soft on me. I dont want to have to replace another one again. It doesn't matter what he's called as long as you get both of them back here. Back to their home."
