It took 3 weeks to get to the Woodland Mansion. When I got there I saw a little base set up that I assumed belonged to Gri and set up beside it.

I was finishing putting everything away when I heard a blood-curdling scream, and then silence. It was coming from the Mansion. I couldn't go in now as it would be too difficult to try and fight off illigers and monsters at the same time so I went to bed.

|Time skip - next morning|

This morning I was woken up by a scream then there was silence, then another and another. This went on for about two hours when I had enough of it. I went and tried to locate Gri inside but that only got me with what seemed like a pair of broken ribs and half my health left.

I tried, again and again, every morning and afternoon but I still could get in. So I tried a different approach.

I tried going to the top of the mansion and going down that way. When I got to the roof and walked over to the third smaller level I noticed that some glass had been broken up here. (I guess this was the way Gri got in) When I came into the library I saw something shiny over in the corner.

It was Gri's pic and ender chest.

I quickly put his pic in the ender chest, forgetting that it goes to my stuff when I open it and put my wings in it for later use. It felt good taking the wings off as they were slightly heavy and felt clunky on my back. I was about to put the ender chest in my inventory when I saw books all over the floor, I quickly put them away thinking they might be what Gri was looking for. When I put the ender chest into my inventory I heard a familiar grunting noise of an illiger coming up behind me. I quickly tried to run down the stairs behind them.

That didn't exactly work out as planned I was cornered and had to stab a few of them the get out, once I got out I went all the way down to the bottom of the mansion

I dug down under the mansion and started digging, I dug until I hit a wall. The wall was made out of obsidian and bedrock with some sort of spell cast on it causing pain to whoever touched it. I couldn't use diamond tools as when diamonds touched me they burned, but only for a few seconds. I don't know why it burned but might have been a chemical reaction to my skin.

I pulled out my diamond pic and started mining the obsidian, hissing at the burn of the pickaxe. When I finally mined to obsidian all could see was a cage, something light purple and fluffy inhabiting it whispering to its self and crying.

|Grian|

This morning they used more of there illusions on me, either killing me or torturing me.

One of them was Mumby and he killed me tortured me and sliced off my wings. That morning I heard something very strange. When they were putting me back in my cage I heard a racket upstairs and they hurriedly went up to help, even though they left the door open to my cell I didn't leave there was no point in leaving, and besides if I didn't leave they wouldn't punish me which was better than trying to leave.

Each day they started to leave me alone more and more secluding me to my thoughts. There was this little voice in my mind I started mimicking slowly whispering

I'm a monster

Nobody loves me

Nobody cares about me

Nobody will try to save me

Im a monster to them

A disgusting

freakish

monster

Somehow I felt this kept me sane thinking no one was going to help me and I was going to be here for the rest of my life.

Then I heard something.

It didn't sound like an illiger, but I still didn't even turn around.

Then I heard a scream.

For the first time, it wasn't mine.

It wasn't mine!

They caught someone else and put them in the cage beside mine.

I couldn't see the cage because of my wings surrounding me but whoever was there in that cage starting cussing under there breath and then started hyperventilating that slowly escalated to coughing. After a while, they seemed to get the coughing under control and were taking deep breaths that slowly went to whispering to themself.

I tried to move my wings out of the way a bit to see who ar what it was, but I couldn't.

The reason they had me in the cage for so long was to make my body numb so I couldn't move. I bet they were trying out that serum I saw them make.

I started to hyperventilate as I couldn't move and my wings being around me made me more claustrophobic than before.

I started whispering tho my self saying that

nobody was going to save me

it would be better to get over this my self

im going to stay here forever I better get over it

And then I heard it

The person beside me was asking me if I was okay

I couldn't believe who it was.

|Mumbo|

When I was looking at the fluff in the cage they didn't seem to be moving. I was about to break the other obsidian block when I felt a burning pain at the back of my head and let out a scream.

I was in so much pain I almost fainted but I kept it together. Blindly walking to wherever the thing guiding me was going. I fell to the ground in a heap and died, respawning in the bead next to me with absolutely nothing.

"Shitshitshitshitshitshitshit shit!"

I was panicking because I had lost my stuff when I died including my mask. I started hyperventilating and soon was coughing because I didn't have my mask and needed it the breath when too much air came into my lungs.

I finally got my breathing back to its normal pace and stopped coughing. I just laid there looking that the ceiling of my cage when I noticed the person beside me was hyperventilating. They seemed to be saying things like nobody was going to save me and im going to stay here forever I better get over it.

"Are you okay?"

"Mu-mumby?"

"Gri! Are you okay"

"I mean as okay as one can get when they've been tortured by illigers and is now unable to move for probably the rest of the day when being enclosed." "Gri! Im so sorry I've should have come sooner- I've-"

I started coughing again and tried to slow down my breathing but I couldn't seem to. "My goodness mumby are you okay!" "Yep I-cough- I-i just n-need to slow down my breathing and make sure I keep breathing steadily."

...

"O-okay"

...

"W-what happened?"

...

"I-i don't really want to talk about it r-right now if that's okay."

"It's alright Mumby."

|Time skip - morning|

I watched as Gri got out of his feather ball, finally able to move, and looked at me. He was as shocked as I was seeing him with wings, horns, and a tail.

"Mumby!" "Yes, Gri?" "What happened to your face! It's all red!" "Its something called Redstone poisoning, and it's not just on my face." I lifted my sleeves as Gri kept that same shocked expression. "What is it?" "Its just Redstone, that's why I was coughing. It's taken over I little bit of my left lung so there's Redstone dust in there causing me to start coughing when I inhale too much air." "Is there any way to stop you from coughing?" "Yeah there's my mask that I lost when I died which helps me regulate how much air comes into my lungs, it also was waterproof so it could cover this half of my face." I pointed to the right side of my face where all the Redstone was.

The whole day we were left alone just talking to each other. I showed him my Redstone magic and he showed me his wings, tail, and horns.

It was the end of the day when I suddenly got hit with a wave of fatigue and collapsed onto the floor.

"Mumby are you okay!" "Yep-" "you don't sound okay..." I slowly got up and walked my self to the bed. I needed to sleep, or else this was going to turn into a very painful headache. "I'm fine just tired." "But being tired doesn't mean you fall onto the floor!" "Your right and I know why I fell, I need a power source, or else my energy drains faster than normal."

"Oh"

"Night Gri, love you."

....

...

"love you too"

|Time skip - morning|

I woke up to screaming along with a massive headache. I looked outside my cage and saw Gri on the floor of the room barely breathing, even when he respawned he was still only breathing a little. "Gri?" "Y-yes." "Are you okay?" "Yeah, they've done worse." "O-okay."

I was pulled out of my cage and place on the floor, where they proceeded to strap me onto a wooden board "G-grian what are they doing!?!" "They're taking you to the water tank." Grian realized what he just said as worry filled his eyes making him almost cry.

I tried to break free but the chains were reinforced with obsidian making them impossible to break out of.

|Time skip - after Mumbo got out|

Once I got out of the water tank I only had 4 health left. They just dumped me on the floor of my cage not even bothering to lock the door as they knew i would be weak after the water tank. I just stayed there curled in a ball waiting for the pain to stop.

Everything hurts.

My lungs were burning

All I could feel was pain.

I tried to hear what Grian was saying,

...

All I could make out was my name.

Then I suddenly gained all of my strength back due to somethings hitting me.

It was a Redstone torch.

I could get out

We could be free

I looked over at Gri, he was in no condition to fly or his wings for that matter.

I looked across the room to a chest that probably has our stuff and walked over to it, and sure enough, our stuff was in here. I quickly put my armor on and wings. I put the rest of mine and Gri's stuff in a shulker and tucked it away in the ender chest. I saw the illusioner that had been torturing Grian.

I grabbed Gri and ran

When I got out of the mansion I had a nether portal ready and went through.

I traveled faster than I ever had before trying to get Gri back home.

I turned to look over my shoulder and saw black vex chasing after us

I saw the portal into the shopping district

I hoped we can make it there in time

I flew through the portal only to find Xisuma on the other side

I kept flying so we wouldn't get caught

I turned around and saw that the black vex like creatures were retreating.

I quickly went near Scar (seeing he would be able to help us) before I passed out.
