you have unresolved personal trauma

HOPE SAT IN the living room of the McCall household, and she was looking between Scott and Stiles with hesitant eyes. Things were moving too fast and even though they didn't know each other long, she felt like they deserved to know the truth about her. After all, it looked like she was stuck there.

Everything was suddenly hitting her like a brick. She had sacrificed herself and jumped into a black pit for however long it was with her enemy who she had actually gotten close to.

"She got close to Clarke?!" Landon exclaimed before blushing in embarrassment and slouching further into his seat.

"Who is this Clarke?" Klaus asked with narrowed eyes.

Landon gulped and whispered, "my brother who I didn't even know existed until moments before Hope snapped my neck and jumped into Malivore, who is my father by the way."

Lizzie's eyes widened before she bursted out laughing so loud and hard, she fell off of her seat. "You're mudmans son? And you have a brother who actually has a personality? I would never guess that." Rafael is just a broody, quiet boy who is either stuck up Landon's ass or following Hope around. And yeah, she is still hurt by what Rafael had said and done at her birthday party. But, it's her fault, she's always been the girl to show her emotions on her sleeve and then get hurt.

Josie glanced to Lizzie, frowning.

Klaus cleared his throat loudly, making everyone turn back to him. "So, what I'm hearing is that you're the son of the... thing, that has sent my daughter to a completely different universe that who knows what holds in store for her?"

Landon's eyes widened and his heart thumped loudly in his chest. "Uh... yeah. I guess. Bu-but I had no say in the matter! I have been in foster care since for like ever, okay?! And Hope snapped my neck so I wouldn't stop her from sacrificing herself."

Klaus stared, non-blinking, at the boy before humming and facing the screen.

She was then teleported to another universe, and everyone back home probably doesn't even remember her, and probably has moved on without her. That last thought is what made her eyes water. All this was happening and she still hasn't had any time to come to terms with her parents deaths.

The Super Squad blinked. "Wait, why do we remember?"

"Because powers outside of this realm, outside of this place, do not work here. Meaning in here, you're safe. But out there, you wouldn't remember any of this," the author explained.

"But then... once we're all done with watching Hope's life... does that mean—" Freya started, frowning.

"Everything should reset like nothing happened," the author stated, and there was a pause where everyone took that in. "Unless something changes the course of time and space."

Everyone swallowed thickly at that, wondering what needed to be changed for them to remember all of this.

"What was that back there?!" Scott exclaimed in shock as he and Stiles looked at the girl in front of them with suspicion and fear. Her abilities were unknown and it freaked them out.

"I wish I saw it," Stiles said with an excited smile, his eyes lighting up at the thought of something out of Marvel. "Are you like the Scarlett Witch?"

MG blinked and then shot out of his seat with his vamp speed, jumping around like a kid in a candy shop. "Oh, my god! She's practically Wanda Maximoff."

Lizzie tilted her head in thought, "do you think she could do half of what Wanda does?"

Klaus rose his brow, "I have no clue who this Wanda person is, but my daughter is strong and powerful. She can do anything she puts her mind to."

Hayley and the other Mikaelson's nodded in agreement.

Hope couldn't help but chuckle lightly when she was reminded of MG, one of her vampire best friends. She bit her lip before exhaling. "Not exactly... but I am a witch."

"But... you're a werewolf," Scott said with furrowed brows.

"So, are you like a Werewitch?!" Stiles exclaimed, leaning forward in his seat which made Scott nudge him with narrowed eyes.

"I love that he doesn't see her any different," Rebekah commented with a small smile. Flash's of her past boyfriends — and girlfriends — went to the forefront of her mind; either they were killed by her brother or, if they found out about her, they were scared and disgusted... before Klaus killed them. Hell, one of her boyfriends actually did try to kill her.

Hope couldn't help but smile at him before shaking her head. "Actually... I am what you would call a tribrid."

"And what exactly is that?" Scott asked as he leaned forward, laying his elbows on his knees. "I just want to make sure you aren't a threat. We already have enough going on and—"

Klaus growled, "of course she could be a threat, you mutt. She's a Mikaelson after all."

Hayley rolled her eyes at him, giving him a look, "yeah, she's powerful, Klaus, but she won't and doesn't want to hurt them. So therefore, she isn't a threat in this scenario."

Hope shook her head, stopping him from continuing. "Scott, I understand. And I would never hurt anyone here. I am a friend and I promise that no matter what... if you hate me or not, I will fight for this town. And as for what I am... well, I'm part werewolf and witch. But, I also am an untriggered vampire."

"Vampire?!" Stiles screeched with wide eyes, and he ran his hand through his buzzcut. "They're real?!"

Hope cringed. "I don't think so... not here anyway."

"What do you mean?"

Hope sighed and bit her lip, trying to figure out her words. "Okay... I know you guys don't know or trust me, and I might sound crazy, but trust me on this one thing. Please." She pleaded them with her eyes, swallowing thickly. "I um... I am not from around here. Or anywhere around here, actually. I am from another universe in a town called Mystic Falls."

"Another universe?" Stiles asked, his mouth falling open. "Am I dreaming? I feel like I'm dreaming. I have wanted something like this to happen since I was like six! Oh, my god, you are fulfilling my dreams!" He then frowned. "Wait... is this real?"

Lizzie shook her head, "of course she would find herself a nerd." She glanced to Landon who was still pouting at the screen. Deep down, she feels bad for the boy, boy she also knows Hope deserves better than Landon. And if she had to choose between them, she will choose Hope each time. Sure, they have had their ups and downs — mostly downs (because of Josie) — that doesn't mean Lizzie doesn't want Hope to be happy.

Hope shuddered slightly when she realized she had no clue how to tell them everything. "I don't know, honestly. All I know is that I sacrificed myself and jumped into this pit called Malivore, and I was there for a while, I don't know for how long, and then it spit me out in the woods here. The only way I knew I was in another world was when your father searched up my name and town. When nothing popped up, I was scared." She pursed her lips, trying to not break down. "I... I then did a locator spell, trying to find my family and found nothing. And the same thing happened when I tried to find Malivore. Nothing!" When she realized she shouted, she looked down, biting her lip. "I can't answer most of your questions because I don't know the answers. Sorry."

Scott nodded, staring at her with sad eyes. "Can you at least tell us who you really are, then?"

Hope tilted her head. "I didn't lie about who I was, I just withheld some information. But, I don't go by Hope Marshall like I told your father," she glanced to Stiles as she spoke. "My name is Hope Mikaelson."

"If you knew you were in a different world or whatever, then why did you lie about your last name?" Stiles asked with furrowed brows, trying to understand her and her motives — if she had any, that is.

Hope sighed. "I wanted to be careful just in case there was anyone who might know the last name Mikaelson. I don't know. I've just been used to hiding my real name for years because of what the name meant for many people."

Lizzie and Josie frowned, remembering the way they first found out about Hope's real last time — it was when they had to take the Hollow out of her.

"That's kind of sad, actually," Kaleb stated, "having to hide a part of herself for so long. Even if it's just as simple as a last name, there's no way it was easy for her."

Hayley and Klaus shared a look, hating that because of who the Mikaelson's are, their daughter had to suffer in more ways than one.

"And what exactly is that?"

The tribrid took in a shaky breath. "My father... he wasn't exactly a loved person. He did a lot of terrible things on his lifetime, and when people hear the name 'Mikaelson' they either quake in fear or decide to strike. My family figured I should use my mother's last name."

Klaus frowned and swallowed thickly, clenching his fists in his lap. He knows that all of his past would catch up to him someday, but he never wanted it to catch up with his daughter. All he has ever wanted, was for her to be safe and feel loved.

It seems like he didn't get that wish.

Elena looked over at the Mikaelson's, especially Klaus. Yeah, she has many good reasons why she would be terrified of him, or even try to kill him, but she feels bad for him. He's been alive for over a thousand years, a part of himself was hidden away, he had been abused — if her earlier suspicions are correct — and now he is having to watch his daughter go through so much pain and he can't even do anything to help her.

She hopes he gets his happy ending.

"Your father was evil?" Scott asked, sitting up straight.

Hope bottom lip trembled and she closed her eyes for a second, trying to contain her emotions. "A long time ago, yes." She let out a breath, and the boys in front of her could tell she was close to breaking down. "My father was... an Original."

"Original? What does that mean?" Stiles asked, pinching his eyebrows together. He took a mental note of everything she was telling him so that he can write it all down later. He also noted the way she said 'was', and his heart ached for her because he knew what it meant.

"Oh..." Elena frowned, knowing the pained look on Stiles' face, and his train of thought. He has lost someone, as well, and her heart aches for him. Her heart aches for Hope, as well. Losing anyone, let alone a parent — or two — is hard.

"The first ever vampire," she informed them. "My grandmother took matters into her hands when her youngest was killed by Werewolves, and turned her children into the very first vampires."

"How was she able to do that?" Scott asked, his head tilted like a puppy.

Hope smiled lightly at that. "She was a witch, the Original witch. She was powerful enough to turn her children into vampires. And that was over a thousand years ago."

"A thousand?!" Stiles yelped, his eyes wide, and his heart pounding against his chest.

"Yes," Hope gently told him, holding back a chuckle at his reaction.

"And your mother?" Scott asked as he tried to get past the fact that her father was over a thousand years old.

Hope swallowed thickly and Scott heard her heart pick up. "She was a werewolf alpha."

Hayley held a hand to her mouth, trying to not cry as she is mentioned.

Klaus reached over and held her hand in his, giving her a nod.

"Alpha?!" Scott exclaimed, jumping up from his seat. "Your mother is an alpha?"

Stiles watched Hope with gentle eyes when he realized she said 'was' again. And when a tear skidded down her cheek, all he wanted to do was wipe away her tear and tell her everything was going to be alright. But, he couldn't even if he understood her pain.

Elena smiled sadly at the screen. These teenagers have been through so much, and she wishes she was there with them to give them all a hug.

Freya frowned, eyes sad, "he has lost his mother too. Poor boy."

There was a sniffling sound and everyone turned around to see Caroline crying while wiping away her tears, trying to be discreet with it.

The auburn haired girl quickly wiped away her tear and looked up through her thick eyelashes at Scott. "Yes... she was. But, not the kind of alpha you're thinking about. No red eyes. Our wolves look exactly the same."

"And... and your father was a vampire?" Stiles stuttered out, surprised by all of this news. "And your mother was a werewolf? Wow! Talk about opposites attract."

"That's what I have said!" Kol exclaimed, pointing at Stiles.

Klaus and Hayley chuckled and looked to one another, lots of emotions going through their eyes.

Hope shook her head. "They were only a one night stand. I wasn't ever suppose to happen or exist," she told them, her voice cracking, and she could feel her walls begin to crumble one by one as she recalled her parents. "My mother actually fell in love with my uncle."

Hayley winced, glancing at Elijah who was tensed in his seat, staring at the screen. She swallowed and squeezing Klaus' hand again.

Klaus' heart hurt to hear his daughters words. "You're our miracle, you are suppose to exist," he mumbled, staring at his daughters sad face, wanting nothing more to reach in the screen and hug her and never let her go.

"Damn... alright," Stiles breathed out before shaking his head. "Wait. In every lore I read or watched, vampires can't procreate."

She nodded along with his words. "They aren't. But, my father was special. Not only was he part vampire, he was also part werewolf by an affair his mother had with a werewolf. And when she changed them into vampires, and he had his first kill, she locked his werewolf side away. But, a thousand year later, he broke the curse, and then he slept with my mother."

"Oh..." Scott breathed out as he sat back down. "I don't even know what to say right now."

"Same," Bonnie muttered.

"It's a lot to process, that's for sure," Freya stated with a nod of her head.

"Complicated, too," MG commented, intrigued with the Mikaelson's family history.

"Very messy," Kaleb said, nodding, eating some popcorn.

"Okay, seriously, where are you guys getting the popcorn?!" Rebekah exclaimed, turning around just to see Kol sipping away at the largest drink she has ever seen.

Hope entwined her hands and licked her lips. "My life is screwed up, I know, but trust me, I am not here with any agenda. I'm just a girl who's lost in a world she knows nothing about, alone."

"You are not alone," Scott told her gently before he went over to her, and sat down beside her. "You have us now." He laid his hand over hers with a kind smile.

"I said no boys!" Klaus exclaimed, his emotions doing a complete one-hundred.

Alaric rose a brow at Klaus before chuckling, "I feel like I would be the same way as a dad."

"No girls, also, dad!" Lizzie exclaimed from where she was perched on her seat, sipping away at a strawberry smoothie.

"Yup, can't forget the girls," Josie stated with a smile, sipping away at her own vanilla smoothie.

Alaric simply blinked. Again with the 'dad' — he thought.

Elena giggled as she leaned to her other side to lay her head on Caroline's shoulder. "My own father kept forgetting about the girls, too."

"Mine, too!" Caroline exclaimed with a giggle. "God, do you remember the one time my mom and dad walked in on us kissing?" Elena and the blonde shared a look before doubling over in laughter.

Bonnie smiled, "what about when my Miranda and Grayson saw us kissing, El? It was like they saw a ghost."

Elena laughed louder, "their faces!"

Lizzie and Josie stared at the mother and aunts with wide eyes, then turned to one another. "That's where our fruitiness comes from!" The blonde exclaimed before they started laughing.

Damon stared at the love of his life, blinking repeatedly. "How have I never known this about you?!"

She giggled and snorted at his question, "you've never asked. And well, I have been too busy falling in love with you to think about anyone else, let alone girls."

Stefan huffed, glancing at Bonnie and Caroline, and then at Damon and Elena who shared a quick kiss.

Klaus stared between the girls before turning to face the screen. "Should I worry about the girls, too?" He mumbled to himself, frowning even deeper if that was possible.

Rebekah pouted, "I just wanna know where the food and smoothies are coming from."

The tribrid looked up at him through her eyelashes, trying to smile, but it came out as a wince. "You mean that?"

Stiles was the one that spoke up next, feeling his eye twitch when he saw that Scott's hand was still overs her's, for some reason. "Of course."

"Aw, he's jealous," Caroline said as she calmed down from laughing so hard.

"So cute," Bonnie commented, her hand holding Caroline's.

Landon seemed to not be blinking as he watched as Hope interacted with Scott and Stiles.

That's when Hope broke and she let out a small cry, bringing her hands up to her face. "I don't deserve this," she sobbed out, her shoulders shaking.

"You deserve the world and more, littlest wolf," Klaus said, staring hard at Hope's face on the screen, as if he was actually having a conversation with her.

"Hey..." Stiles whispered as he was now crouching in front of her. "I know you're scared and you're in a different world, but—" He laid his hand on her knee, gaining her attention. And when we tearful blue eyes met his, he swallowed thickly before continuing, "you have Scott and I now. We will help you out. And hey, if you want us to, we will try to help you find a way back to your home."

"He's so nice," Hayley stated as she cried into Freya's shoulder. "He's so patient and kind with her. That's all I have ever wanted for her."

She gulped and didn't look away from his caramel eyes. "You will?"

He nodded with a small smile. "Of course. What are friends for?"

Her lips trembled before she sucked in a breath, and nodded. "I am lucky to have ended up in this place."

Scott nodded with a smile on his face, as well. "You are."

And that's when the front door opened, and Melissa walked in with wide eyes when he saw them together. He then noticed the tears on Hope's cheek, and quickly ran over. "What happened?! Are you okay?"

"She's worried about our Hope," Hayley stated, turning to stare at Klaus with a small smile. "I think she's in good hands, Klaus."

He nodded in agreement. "Yeah..." He just wishes she was there for her... with her.

Hope nodded and smiled at her worry, glancing to Scott and Stiles. "Yeah... I'm alright."
