Chapter Two: Always & Forever

Nobody's Pov

Everyone reluctantly did as told and sat down.

None of them wanted to stay here but they had to admit that they were curious to know if this witch was telling them the truth or not.

And considering they can't really leave, they have no choice but to obey.

They just hope that none of this was a waste of their time.

Rachel grabbed Finn by the arm and dragged him over to one of the seats. Their friends followed their lead.

Blaine went to sit at the seat on Rachel's other side while the warblers sat near him.

Burt and Carole sat together with Mr. Schue, Ms. Pillsbury, Coach Beiste and Sue sat near them.

Gertrude smiled as everyone sat down before turning her attention to the screen. With a snap of her fingers the screen began turning on.

The screen turns on and we're given a nice view of New Orleans.

The camera pans around the city before stopping at the outside of a bar called Rousseau's. We head inside and we see a young woman sitting at a largely deserted bar at midday. She turns her head around and her eyebrows furrow together.

Almost everyone looked at the screen either in confusion or annoyance.

They were supposed to watch the life of Kurt so why were they watching some random woman?

Although, some of the boys had to admit that she was really pretty.

Burt gritted his teeth and looked towards Gertrude who was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

"You said we were going to supposedly watch the life of my son? So what the hell is this?" Burt asked, visibly annoyed.

Gertrude rolled her eyes and simply said, " just be patient and watch?".

Burt glared at her and opened his mouth to say something when Carole placed her hand on top of his and caressed it.

Burt took a deep breath and when he managed to calm down he turned to his wife and nodded at her.

Carole smiled at him and the married couple put their attention back onto the screen.

The camera pans over to a young man sitting next to her while sipping a glass of wine.

His head turns to face the young woman with concern plastered on his face and his eyebrows furrowed together.

The young man was none other than Kurt Hummel.

Almost immediately gasps filled the theater as the scene paused on Kurt.

The new directions eyes were wide open as well as their jaws, they were staring at the screen with many emotions coursing through their eyes.

"Oh my god" Rachel gasped, her hand coming up to cover her mouth.

"Holy shit" Finn breathed out, never taking his eyes off the screen.

"Kurt...he's alive. My boy is alive. Oh thank god" Burt breathed out in relief.

His eyes began to water and before he knew it tears were streaming down his face but he didn't care.

All he cared about was his son and that his son was alive.

After all this time thinking that something had happened to his son, that there probably was a slight chance of him being dead, he was proven wrong.

Because his son was alive, his son was safe, that's all he cared about.

Carole, who had tears of her own streaming down her face, grabbed her husbands hands and caressed them gently.

She was in the same boat as Burt.

She was happy that Kurt was safe and alive.

The new directions were in the same boat as were the staff of McKinley high.

Blaine let out a breathless laugh as his eyes began to water and tears began streaming down his cheeks.

There he was.

Kurt.

His first love, his ex-boyfriend, someone he still loves dearly and someone he has missed since the day he ran away.

He was alive.

Blaine felt nothing but relief and happiness at the knowledge of Kurt being alive and, from the looks of it, safe.

Now he just needs to find a way to get to New Orleans in order bring him home.

To his friends, to his family and, of course, to him.

The warblers were relieved at seeing Kurt, a former warbler and their friend, alive and safe as they too were worried that something could've happened to him during the time he was gone.

They were happy that that wasn't the case.

Hell, even Sebastian looked relieved at seeing Kurt alive and safe.

Gertrude let a small smile appear on her face before she resumed the episode.

"Hales, is everything alright?" Kurt asked in concern.

The young woman, Hayley, nodded and turned her head to face her best friend and smiled at him.

"I'm fine, Kurt. Don't worry" Hayley reassured him.

Kurt merely hummed and nodded before going back to sipping his wine.

"How do they know each other? What's their story?" Burt asked, turning to the witch.

"When Kurt arrived in New Orleans he ran into Hayley and learned that she was searching for her birth family and he decided to join her. They grew really close because of it, they're best friends. Practically brother and sister" Gertrude explained.

Burt let a small smile appear on his face, as did Carole.

They were happy that Kurt wasn't alone in a new tone and had someone that he trusted.

Meanwhile, the new directions frowned at hearing the relationship between Kurt and Hayley.

More specifically, Finn and Rachel.

Rachel didn't mind that Kurt had other friends, something that was normal, she had to admit that hearing that they were best friends made her jealous.

She thought she had earned that title herself.

While Finn was just jealous that Kurt saw this Hayley girl as a sister when he believed that them being brothers was all they needed.

The bartender walks towards them with a smile on her face.

"Third time in here this week?" the bartender asked.

"We're obsessed with the gumbo, Jane-Anne" Hayley told her with a smile.

Kurt nodded as he happily ate the gumbo that he and Hayley ordered.

Everyone couldn't help but chuckle softly at seeing Kurt eat his food like a kid that was gifted a piece of candy.

Blaine cooed at his ex-boyfriend. Kurt was adorable no matter what.

The bartender, Jane-Anne, smiles at them and begins pouring some wine into another drink as she turns her head to another direction.

"You know, ladies in the 9th ward say my sister, Sophie, bleeds a piece of her soul into every dish" Jane-Anne told them.

The camera pans over to her sister, Sophie, who was working in the kitchen.

"So, Hayley asked around the quarter about her family" Kurt said.

"And?" Jane-Anne asked.

"Nothing. Zero. I can't find a single person who remembers them" Hayley told her with a sigh.

"Aw, poor girl" Ms. Pillsbury frowned.

She felt bad for the girl not being able to find any information on her birth family as it's pretty clear she wants nothing more than to meet them.

"Because, Hayley, people like you were run out of here years ago" Jane-Anne told her.

Hayley raises an eyebrow at that as Kurt sets his glass of wine down on the counter and leans forward.

"What do you mean, people like her?" Kurt asked.

Jane-Anne pressed her lips together before walking around the bar to the other side in order to stand beside Hayley.

She takes out a map and sets it down as Hayley looks down while Kurt leans forward and looks down himself.

"In the bayou, they call the werewolves Roux-Ga-Roux" Jane-Anne said.

Everyone either furrowed their eyebrows together at that or tilted their heads to the side.

"I'm sorry, but did she just say werewolves?" Puck asked in confusion.

"No, I heard it too" Sam nodded, a small frown plastered on his face.

Almost instantly all heads turned to Gertrude.

Who sighed but knew that they wanted answers and knew that they deserved it.

"I promise that I will explain everything later. Right now please just continue watching because more is going to appear and you all need to be prepared" Gertrude explained.

She needed them to watch the events that would soon take place so that they don't think she's lying.

Everyone looked at her warily before reluctantly nodding their heads.

They turned their attention back to the screen and the episode resumes.

She circled a point on the map before looking at the two best friends, "you head out there, you'll find what you're looking for".

Hayley stands up and grabs the map and examines it. Kurt stands up and moves closer to her and looks down at the map in order to examine it himself.

Jane-Anne walked in order to stand in between them and placed her hand onto their shoulders.

"Be careful. It's the last place you'd ever want to go" Jane-Anne told them.

Some peopled couldn't help but let small smiles appear on their faces, happy to know that Jane-Anne was worried for their safety.

While a few others couldn't help but frown at her words, their eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Something felt off about Jane-Anne, it was like she was planning something.

They were just hoping that neither Kurt or Hayley got hurt.

The two best friends smiled at her and nodded. They grab their jackets before leaving the bar.

The scene changes to a country road where we see a car driving down. The camera pans inside the car and we see Hayley and Kurt inside.

Hayley was driving while Kurt was on his phone, he was bored and wanted to pass the time by playing some games.

The new directions were confused, to say the least.

Normally when Kurt was bored he would start singing, something that always helped cure his boredom, or would start talking about new fashion trends.

Seeing him do neither of those surprised them and they couldn't help but worry slightly.

The scene changes to the bayou and it's already late at night.

Hayley parks somewhere in the bayou and Kurt turns his phone off and stuffs it into his pocket.

"Kurt, check the map and see if we're close or we need to drive further" Hayley said.

"Sure thing" Kurt nodded.

He took the map out from the compartment and opened it and began looking to see if they were in the right place or still needed to go further.

All of a sudden the map ignites, startling the two people in the car.

Almost everyone in the theater jumped, clearly startled at seeing the map surprisingly ignite on its own.

"What the hell?!" Santana yelled, confusion and slight awe shown in her tone.

"Did that map burst into flames on its own?" Mike asked, a frown plastered on his face.

Nobody said anything as they too were confused, shocked and a little scared.

They continued watching the scene in front of them, wanting to know just what would happen next.

"What the hell?!" Kurt shrieked in surprise.

He quickly tosses it out the window and examines his hand to make sure he wasn't burnt or anything.

Hayley looks worried by what just happened and puts her car in reverse but the car starts to produce smoke and abruptly stops working.

"Are you kidding me?!" Hayley yelled in confusion and frustration.

Everyone was beginning to get more and more confused due to the unexpected things that were happening.

"The car was literally fine minutes ago" Finn frowned, getting worried.

"What the hell is going on?" Blaine asked, confused.

"What the hell is going on?" Kurt asked, his eyebrows furrowed together.

Blaine couldn't help but smile, happy to have said the same thing as his love.

The two best friends get out of the car and Kurt goes to check on the car while Hayley takes her phone out to call for a tow service.

Kurt pops open the trunk of the car and began inspecting it to see if he could find out what the problem was.

He's really thankful that his dad taught him everything he needs to know about cars, as well as learning how to fix them.

Burt smiled, happy that his teachings were going to come in handy.

Meanwhile, Hayley took her phone out and dialed a number as she placed her phone to her ear.

"Hey, I'm looking for a tow service?" Hayley asked, placing one hand on her hip.

All of a sudden her phone produces an ear-piercing noise causing her to grimace in discomfort. She pulls it away from her ear before throwing it to the ground and stepped on it.

Everyone looked at the scene with narrowed eyes as they were beginning to grow more confused, curious and frustrated.

"Ok, first the map lights on fire then the car suddenly stops working and now her phone. What is going on?" Artie asked.

"Yeah, what's happening?" Mike asked.

All eyes turned to Gertrude, waiting for her to answer.

But she remained silent causing them to grow irritated but said nothing as they focused their attention back onto the screen.

Kurt, having heard what happened, turned to his best friend with a raised eyebrow.

"Hales, is everything alright?" Kurt asked as he walked towards her.

Hayley pressed her lips together before nodding her head as she turned to him.

"Yeah, I think my phone was having some problems" Hayley told him.

"Understatement of the century" Puck whispered to Finn who nodded.

"Can you call? Please" Hayley said.

"Sure" Kurt nodded as he took out his phone and began dialing a number.

However, just as he was going to make the call footsteps from a distance are heard causing the two best friends to turn their heads around.

Shadowy figures emerge from the trees and approach Hayley and Kurt causing the two best friends to tense up.

Everyone's eyes widened at seeing those shadowy figures appear out of nowhere.

And almost instantly everyone sat up in their seats, nothing but fear coursing through their bodies.

"What the fuck?!" Santana yelled.

"Who the hell are they?!" Finn yelled.

Nobody said anything as they too were confused and scared as to who those shadowy figures were.

Not to mention Hayley and Kurt were still there. They were alone and outnumbered.

"Get the hell out of here, bud" Burt muttered, his full attention on the screen.

"Hales" Kurt muttered, scooting closer to his best friend.

Hayley swallowed thickly and grabbed her best friend by the arm, ready to make a run for it, when her eyes roll to the back of her head and she passes out.

"Hayley!" Kurt yelled, his eyes widening in fear and concern.

He tries to check on her when he stumbles backwards, beginning to feel lightheaded himself.

"No, no, no" Burt breathed out, his eyes widening in horrifying realization.

The new directions along with the warblers were right behind him.

"Get out of there, Kurt. Go, make a run for it" Blaine begged, his fists clenched tightly at his sides.

Kurt does his best to keep his eyes open but it's no use. His eyes roll to the back of his head and he begins to fall.

One of the shadowy figures lunges forward and catches him before he could hit the ground while a girl had caught Hayley and was holding her in her arms.

The girl looks at the shadowy figure holding Kurt and nods. She nods at everyone else and they nod back at her.

Everyone was staring at the screen with nothing but shock and fear in their eyes.

Not only did Hayley get knocked out and kidnapped but so did Kurt, meaning they were both in danger.

Everyone began protesting when the screen turned black, they were beginning to think that it was over.

"No, it can't end like that!" Finn yelled while shaking his head.

"Tell me that's not all! There has to be more!" Blaine yelled.

Burt nodded and stood up in his seat and whipped his head around to look at Gertrude.

"Tell me Kurt alright! No. Tell me Kurt and Hayley are alright, please!" Burt yelled.

He was begging, yes begging, that his boy was alright and that he wasn't going to be harmed.

He had to witness his boy get knocked out and he couldn't do anything to help. He doesn't want to witness his boy getting harmed by whoever kidnapped him and his friend.

Gertrude sighed before answering.

"Don't worry, he is alright. Hayley is alright too. Just continue watching and all will be explained soon" Gertrude said.

Burt shot her glare, he didn't want to continued watching he just wanted answers.

He opened his mouth to say something when he felt his wife slide her hand into his.

He looked at her and she flashed him a small smile and gestured for him to sit back down and continue watching.

Burt pressed his lips together before letting out a defeated sigh and slowly sat back down.

Gertrude flashed the woman a small smile before resuming the episode.

The screen turns on and the camera pans to a cemetery before we head inside a cemetery crypt.

The camera pans over to the ground where we see Kurt lying on his back unconscious.

Everyone's breath hitched at the sight of seeing Kurt lying on the hard cold ground unconscious.

While they were relieved to see that he wasn't beaten they still would prefer to see him awake.

They just wanted some sort of sign to know that he's alright.

Burt clenched his fist at seeing his boy in the state he's in, wanting nothing more than to rush to his aid and gather him in his arms and keep him safe.

Finn was in the same boat as his stepfather, he just wanted to gather Kurt in his arms and protect him from everything and everyone.

Blaine, as expected, felt the same way as those two.

Suddenly, Kurt begins to stir indicating that he was regaining consciousness.

And just like that everyone breathed out sighs of relief at seeing Kurt beginning to wake up.

"Oh thank god" Quinn breathed out, her hand over her heart.

"I'll say" Santana muttered in agreement.

Once his eyes were fully open and his vision was clear he furrowed his eyebrows together in confusion as he took in his surroundings.

"What the hell?" Kurt asked out loud.

"Kurt!" Hayley yelled.

Kurt turned around to see his best friend rushing towards him, kneeling at his side once she was near.

Everyone breathed out sighs of relief once more, happy to see that Hayley was alright too.

"Oh thank god you're alright" Hayley said.

"I'm fine. But what the hell happened? Where are we?" Kurt asked.

He sat up from the ground with Hayley's help.

"These witches appeared out of nowhere when we were in the bayou and brought us to this cemetery crypt" Hayley explained.

"For what?" Kurt asked.

"They needed us in order to test out a theory of theirs" Hayley told him.

At her words everyone raised an eyebrow, confusion coursing through all their bodies.

"Theory? What theory?" Sebastian asked.

Nobody said anything and decided to continue watching, curious as to what theory Hayley was talking about.

They also seemed a little confused when Hayley spoke of witches but they will worry about that later.

"What do you mean?" Kurt asked, confused.

Hayley frowned, she was hesitant to tell him but knew that he deserved to know since it involves the two of them.

"The witches have this theory and to prove that it's real they performed some witch experiment on me while I was unconscious. And, apparently, their theory was correct" Hayley explained.

"What was their theory?" Kurt asked.

"Apparently I'm pregnant" Hayley revealed.

Kurt's eyes widened at that, shock coursing through him.

"Pregnant?!" Kurt yelled.

Almost immediately everyone was filled with confusion.

"That's it? Their theory is that she's pregnant?" Puck asked with a raised eyebrow.

"That's literally nothing. If that girl was showing symptoms of pregnancy I don't understand why it's so shocking" Santana scoffed.

"Maybe she didn't know" Quinn suggested.

"Or maybe she hasn't been with anyone to get herself pregnant" Mercedes suggested.

Thad raised an eyebrow and looked at his fellow warblers.

"Are we just going to ignore the fact that the Hayley girl talked about witches?" Thad asked.

The warblers all looked at each other and shrugged.

Maybe more would be shown and explained or maybe Gertrude would explain everything to them.

"But how is that possible? We've been together the time we spent here and you haven't been with any guy" Kurt asked.

"I think I might know but I don't want to believe it since it shouldn't be possible" Hayley sighed.

"What does she mean it isn't possible?" Jeff asked.

"I don't know. Maybe she's infertile" Nick shrugged.

"Wait, you said they needed the two of us to test their theories? What was their theory about me?" Kurt asked.

"They performed a witch experiment on you while you were unconscious. I tried to stop them but they held me back. Apparently, it has something to do with that star birthmark on your chest" Hayley explained.

Kurt frowned at that and rested his hand on his chest where his birthmark was located.

A birthmark he has had since he was born.

A birthmark that was strange, something he nor his father could explain.

Eyebrows were raised and all eyes turned to Burt.

"A star birthmark? What star birthmark?" Finn asked his stepfather.

Burt sighed before turning to everyone and they turned to him.

"Ever since Kurt was born he had this star birthmark on his chest. Elizabeth and I were confused and so were the doctors. They had no explanation as to why that type of birthmark would be on him. Elizabeth and I didn't think it was a big deal since his shirts always covered it up" Burt explained.

He was always confused as to why his son was born with that birthmark. He and his late wife were both confused.

But they believed they had nothing to worry about since it never caused harm to their son.

And Kurt never seemed to mind his birthmark as he grew older, he'd always smile whenever he saw it.

Which is why he was confused as to what theory these so called witches had about his birthmark.

What was so important about it anyway?

Everyone looked at each other as they tried to process everything Burt had just told them.

"What was their theory?" Kurt asked.

"I don't know, they didn't tell me anything" Hayley told him.

Kurt frowned as he let out a disappointed sigh.

A few people had the same reaction as Kurt, Burt being the main one.

They're all dying to know the story behind Kurt's birthmark and what theory those witches had.

Kurt leaned his head on his best friend's shoulder to which Hayley wrapped her arm around him.

They didn't know how long they were going to be here. They didn't even know if they would be able to leave.

But one things for sure is that if those witches tried to harm either of them there would be hell to pay.

Everyone couldn't help but let small smiles appear on their faces.

The new directions were happy that Kurt made himself a new friend in New Orleans.

Burt was happy that his boy wasn't alone in New Orleans and was happy that his new best friend would protect him.

The scene changes and we're back in the cemetery crypt where we see Kurt and Hayley sitting together, looking bored and tired.

It's been a few days and they were still stuck here with the witches.

"A few days?!" everyone yelled with wide eyes.

"Seriously? Are they ok? Have they been fed or given any water?" Mr. Schue asked in concern.

How could he not be concerned?

One of his former students had been kidnapped as well as his best friend who, mind you, is pregnant.

The witches made them stay in the crypt and threatened to harm them if they tried leaving.

Not only that but they were beginning to get hungry and thirsty since none of those witches have given them anything during the time they were held in the crypt.

The new directions and the warblers felt their eyes widen at that.

Those witches didn't just kidnap Kurt but were basically starving him and his friend.

Burt glared at the screen with clenched fists.

He didn't care who those people were, he would find them himself and beat every single one of them for kidnapping his son and treating him like he was nothing.

Blaine was in the same boat as Burt, he just wish he was there right now in order to get his love out of there.

"Bring them out!" they heard Sophie yell.

All of a sudden footsteps are heard causing the two of them to turn around to see three witches walking towards them.

They grab Hayley and Kurt by their arms, forcing them to stand up, before forming themselves around the two and gesture for them to walk forward.

The best friends glare at the witches in annoyance before reluctantly obeying.

"What the hell is porcelain doing? He and his friend should be kicking their asses and getting out of there" Sue scowled.

"Sue, I'm pretty sure if they tried anything they would get hurt" Ms. Pillsbury told her.

Sue huffed but didn't say anything.

She knew Emma was right but seeing Porcelain and his friend in the situation they were in made her angry.

She wishes she was there to get them out of there and somewhere safe.

Once they are outside the two of them look up to see Sophie along with a man wearing a suit standing next to her.

The man was staring at the two of them with interest while Kurt and Hayley were confused and irritated.

The girls, the women and the gay boys felt their eyes widening at seeing the attractive man onscreen.

"Well damn" Quinn muttered, eyeing the man up and down.

"Who's that fine piece of man?" Tina asked, never taking her eyes off the man.

"He's hot" Nick breathed out to which his boyfriend, Jeff, nodded in agreement.

"For once I agree with the two of you" Sebastian muttered.

Everyone looked at them weirdly while a few others were feeling jealous at seeing the attractive man onscreen.

Some felt their egos dropping a little bit.

While Gertrude just laughed in amusement.

"That's Elijah Mikaelson and he's important in all of this. You'll see why soon" Gertrude told them.

Everyone nodded at her and put their attention back onto the screen as the episode resumed.

"Who the hell are you?" Hayley asked.

Elijah glanced between the two of them before looking at Sophie.

"Give us a moment, please" Elijah said to which the witch reluctantly nodded.

The witches that were surrounding Hayley and Kurt moved away from them to which the two best friends rolled their eyes before heading back inside the crypt with Elijah following behind them.

Kurt and Hayley are back to sitting next to each other while Elijah stood near them.

"So, have they been holding you both here against your will?" Elijah asked.

Hayley sighed before replying, "they lured us out into the bayou and grabbed us. And they did all these weird witchy tests on us".

Kurt nodded and said, "they had theories about us. Their theory about Hayley was that she was pregnant and they were, surprisingly, right. But they haven't said anything to me about what they found out".

"All because of a birthmark" Sebastian scoffed.

He doesn't understand any of this and he doesn't understand why lady hummel having a weird birthmark since birth was important.

Hell, he doesn't understand why he or his friends are here.

He just wants to get out of here but because of Gertrude they can't.

Hayley nodded before looking at Elijah.

"I don't understand how this could happen. I mean, vampires are dead. They can't have children" Hayley said.

Everyone did a double take on what she just said.

"Am I deaf or did she just say vampires?" Puck asked, looking at his friends.

"No, I heard it too" Finn nodded at his best friend.

"Same here" the rest of the new directions said in unison.

The adults as well as the warblers nodded their heads in agreement, they heard that too.

Gertrude sighed, she knew it was going to be a hassle when she would have to reveal everything to them.

"Perhaps if you knew my brother's story, it might explain how this is possible. Here, if I may" Elijah said.

He walks towards them and tries to touch their heads but they recoil back.

Everyone tensed up at seeing Elijah trying to touch Hayley and Kurt.

Now, while he just showed up they don't necessarily trust him since for all they know he could be trying to hurt them as well.

"What are you doing?" Hayley asked, eyeing the man in suspicion.

"Relax" Elijah said as he slowly sat down.

"How do you expect Kurt, or Hayley, to relax after everything they had to go through" Santana scoffed.

"If you open your mind to me, I can show you" Elijah told her.

Hayley frowned and looked at Kurt who looked at Elijah in suspicion. The two of them glance at each other before sighing and nodding at Elijah.

Elijah nodded back and placed his hands on the side of their heads to which they closed their eyes.

Everyone's eyes widened at what they were seeing, it was confusing yet fascinating at the same time.

Everyone leaned forward in order to hear and see what would happen and what Elijah would show to the two best friends.

Meanwhile, Gertrude sighed as she prepared herself to explain just what they were about to see.

"In the beginning, our family was human. A thousand years ago, now. Although our mother dabbled in the dark arts, we were actually just a family trying to survive in a time when it was quite difficult to do so. And, for better or worse, we were happy" Elijah said.

He slowly released his hands from Hayley and Kurt's heads as their eyes were still closed and they were in a trance.

"That is, however, until one night, our youngest brother was killed by our village's greatest threat. Men that could transform themselves into wolves during the full moon. Our family was devastated, none more than Niklaus. Desperate to protect the rest of us, our father forced our mother to call upon her black magic in order to make us stronger. Thus, the first vampires were born. But with this speed, this strength, this immortality, came a terrible hunger. No one felt this hunger more than Niklaus. When he killed for the first time, we knew what he truly was" Elijah explained.

"He wasn't just a vampire" Kurt breathed out in realization.

"He was also a werewolf. That's how the werewolf curse works. It isn't activated until you take a life" Hayley added.

"Niklaus was the result of an indiscretion our mother had hidden from us all. An affair, with a werewolf like yourself. Enfuriated by this betrayal, my father forced our mother to cast a spell that would suppress Klaus' werewolf side, denying him any connection with his true self" Elijah finished.

Everyone's eyes widened at all the flashbacks they were seeing when Elijah had been explaining everything to Kurt and Hayley.

At first they didn't want to believe what they were seeing but they could tell that it was all real.

There's no way everything they just saw was fake.

"What the hell was that?!" Mike yelled.

"I agree with the asian dancer over there. What the hell did we just see?!" Sue yelled.

All eyes immediately turned to Gertrude who was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed over her chest.

Upon feeling all eyes on her Gertrude let out a sigh before turning to everyone.

"Everything you saw was real, trust me. And I also want you to trust me with what I'm about to say" Gertrude said.

She took a deep breath before continuing.

"Supernatural beings exist. Such as witches, werewolves and vampires. I'm a witch myself and that's how I was able to bring you all here" Gertrude explained.

Everyone just stared at Gertrude, unsure of what to say.

They honestly didn't know what to say to everything they just learned.

None of them wanted to believe that witches, werewolves and vampires exist.

But...they had to admit that it makes sense.

It makes sense as to why things started acting up when Kurt and Hayley were on their way to the woods to find answers for Hayley and her family.

And it explains how Gertrude was able to gather all of them and bring them here.

It also explains the bright light that blinded them and knocked them out.

"Wait, hold on, so that means that Hayley is a werewolf? Because that was mentioned earlier in this episode" Quinn asked.

Gertrude nodded.

"What about Elijah?" Mercedes asked.

"Elijah and his siblings are vampires but they are the original vampires. They are the first ever vampires" Gertrude explained.

"Does that include his brother?" Artie asked.

Gertrude shook her head and said, "no. His brother, Klaus, isn't a vampire. Not like his siblings. He's the original hybrid".

"And what exactly is that?" Mr. Schue asked with a raised eyebrow.

"He's a werewolf and a vampire" Gertrude revealed.

Everyone's eyes widened at that and their jaws dropped, they couldn't believe it.

If this Klaus guy was a werewolf and a vampire then that meant he was incredibly powerful.

However, they were more worried about Kurt since their friend was now involved in the supernatural since his best friend is a werewolf.

They were hoping that he would be alright but they were honestly beginning to doubt that.

During their silence Gertrude decided to resume the episode since there was still much more to see.

Hayley and Kurt slowly came out of their trance and locked eyes with Elijah.

"Your dad was a dick" Hayley bluntly said.

Kurt laughed at that while Elijah couldn't help but chuckle.

Everyone in the theater couldn't help but laugh at the pregnant girls words.

"Understatement of the century" Puck chuckled while shaking his head.

He, along with everyone else, saw the flashback in regards to the father of Elijah and his brother.

If he thought his dad was terrible he was clearly wrong considering there are far worse dads out there.

"I'm Hayley, by the way" Hayley introduced herself, extending her hand out.

Elijah smiled and shook her hand and when they pulled away Kurt spoke up.

"I'm Kurt" Kurt introduced himself with a nod of his head.

"You should probably know our names if you're gonna tell us your whole life story. I mean, I know yours. Your family is legendary. Your brother is a notorious psycho...who I slept with. Classic me" Hayley sighed while shaking her head.

"I mean, as long as he was hot then she should honestly be glad" Santana shrugged.

A few people laughed at her words while a few others just shot her weird looks.

Gertrude chuckled under her breath, she couldn't wait for them to meet Klaus.

"I cannot excuse his behavior, but you must understand, when our father hunted him, hunted us, for centuries. Every time we found a moment of happiness, we were forced to flee. Even here, in New Orleans, where we were happiest of all. Not long after Niklaus broke the spell which prevented him from becoming a hybrid, he defeated our father. I thought this would make him happy" Elijah explained.

"Wait, he killed his dad? Seriously?" Blaine asked with wide eyes.

He had to admit that while he hated his father since he never accepted him for being gay, he never thought about killing him.

He was just getting ready to cut him out of his life the second he graduated and turned 18.

Killing him never once crossed his mind.

Everyone looked shocked at the fact that Klaus had killed his father.

While they understand that supernatural creatures aren't to be trusted, especially vampires, they didn't expect for Klaus to kill someone of his own family.

Elijah sighed and shook his head.

"He was angrier than ever. I wonder if perhaps this baby might be a way for my brother to find happiness. A way to save him from himself" Elijah said.

"Ok, as cute as that sounds can you please explain to me why the witches want me?" Kurt asked.

Hayley nodded and asked, "I understand that they want to use me considering I'm the one carrying his child. But what do they want with my best friend?".

"Yes! Please explain to me what these witches want with my son!" Burt yelled.

He understands what they want with Hayley since she's the pregnant one and the father is this Klaus Mikaelson.

But he doesn't understand what they want with his son.

He wants answers and he wants them now or he will go insane.

Elijah looks between them but just before he can answer Sophie walks in.

"Are you kidding me?!" Burt yelled, causing a few people to flinch.

They have never seen the Hummel man this angry but, then again, his son has been kidnapped for whatever reason.

The new directions understand his anger and frustration as they too themselves are curious and concerned for their friend.

"I'm glad you feel that way, because we need your help" Sophie said.

"What, precisely, is it that you want and what does it have to do with this young woman and young man?" Elijah asked.

"We want to run Marcel and his vampires out of town. Klaus is the key. Everything Marcel knows about being a vampire, he learned from Klaus. Marcel trusts him, looks up to him, and he won't see the betrayal coming" Sophie explained.

"Yes, well, as I'm sure you're aware, my brother Niklaus doesn't like to be told what to do" Elijah told her.

"Pretty sure none of us do" Sebastian commented.

He sure as hell didn't like to be told what to do from anyone, he does what he wants no matter what.

This made everyone look at each other before nodding in agreement.

"That's why I brought you here. Marcel drove the werewolves out of town decades ago. And humans that come here aren't safe either. Do you really think he's going to welcome a hybrid baby to the neighborhood? Do you think he's going to welcome a human to the neighborhood let alone leave him alive?" Sophie asked.

Kurt tensed at that to which Hayley wrapped an arm around his shoulders protectively.

Everyone tensed at that.

Burt gritted his teeth and clenched his fists at his sides, feeling nothing but nervousness and anger course through his body.

Finn was in the same boat as his stepfather while Carole gasped and covered her mouth in fear.

The new directions, the staff of McKinley and the warblers were staring at the screen in horror as they processed the information they were just given.

Blaine cursed under his breath and gritted his teeth anxiously.

Kurt's life was basically in danger and he wasn't there to get him out of it.

He wasn't there to keep him safe.

He really, really, wished he was in New Orleans so he could find his love and get him the hell out of there.

"Convince Klaus to help us, and no one has to know about the newest member of the Original family or about the boy" Sophie said.

"That sounds remarkably like blackmail" Elijah said.

"Like I said, I'm desperate" Sophie shrugged.

"Well, then, I have my work cut out for me, don't I?" Elijah asked with a tight smile.

"Yes. Yes you do" Carole muttered under her breath.

The scene changes and we see Hayley and Kurt walking side by side with witches near them as they walk into another part of the cemetery.

Elijah returned back with his brother and the two of them had to be there as proof.

As they enter the crypt the camera pans over to Elijah, Sophie and Klaus.

Everyone's eyes widened when they see Klaus and, just like with Elijah, some were beginning to fawn over him.

"Hot damn" Sebastian breathed out, his cheeks red.

"For once, I agree with the meerkat. That's one fucking hot man" Santana nodded.

Brittany didn't even feel any anger or jealousy because she too had to admit that Klaus was hot.

The guys felt their egos definitely die down at seeing Klaus, none of them could ever compete with him or Elijah for that matter.

"Klaus. You need to listen to them" Hayley told him.

Kurt's eyes widened when he saw Klaus and Klaus felt his eyes widen slightly at seeing Kurt as well.

The two of them feel some sort of pull towards each other but neither could explain what it was.

Confusion coursed through everyone's bodies as a few eyebrows were raised.

Burt frowned as did Blaine who couldn't help but have a bad feeling about this.

Klaus snaps out of it and looks back at Hayley and laughs, amused.

"You're all out of your minds if you think some liquor-fueled one-night stand, no offense sweetheart, means a thing to me" Klaus grinned.

Kurt glared at him for that while Hayley scoffed.

"Asshole" Sam scoffed, shaking his head.

"Marcel may be able to keep up from practicing real magic in this town, but as keepers of the balance we still know when nature has cooked up something new. For example, I have a special gift of sensing when a girl is pregnant" Sophie told him.

Sophie then turns to Kurt, "and when a certain human has a connection to you romantically".

Kurt raised an eyebrow, confused, while all amusement leaves Klaus's face and his grin drops.

Everyone was confused as to what Sophie meant by that but kept watching.

"What?" Klaus asked.

"I know it's impossible" Hayley nodded.

"What are you saying?" Klaus asked, turning to Hayley while glancing at Kurt a few times.

Hayley stayed quiet as did Kurt since he didn't know what to say. He was still confused as to what his sort of connection to Klaus was.

Elijah spoke up causing Klaus to look at his brother.

"Niklaus, the girl is carrying your child. And the boy is your soulmate" Elijah told his brother.

Kurt's eyes widened at what he just learned and he looked at Hayley and saw she was just as shocked as he was.

"WHAT?!" everyone shouted in disbelief.

"SOULMATE?!" Burt and Blaine shouted in unison.

Gertrude winced and covered her ears, she really should've conjured up some headphones for stuff like this.

When she uncovered her ears she saw that everyone was staring at her, impatiently waiting for an explanation.

She let out a sigh before nodding her head.

"Yes, it's true. Kurt and Klaus are soulmates and the star birthmark they both have on their chests is proof of that" Gertrude explained.

Shocked.

That's how everyone was feeling at the moment.

They were shocked at what they just learned, especially Burt and Blaine.

Burt couldn't believe that the birthmark his son was born with meant that he had a soulmate while Blaine couldn't believe that Kurt actually had a soulmate and it wasn't him.

And he didn't like that. Not one bit.

"No. It's impossible" Klaus immediately shook his head.

"I said the same thing myself" Elijah told him.

"This is a lie. You are all lying. Vampires cannot procreate and soulmates aren't real" Klaus said.

"But werewolves can. Magic made you a vampire, but you were born a werewolf. You're the Original hybrid, the first of your kind. And this pregnancy is one of nature's loopholes" Sophie explained.

She then looked at Kurt before looking back at Klaus.

"Soulmates are supposed to be myths, but that was proven wrong when you were born with a star birthmark on your chest. That meant that you would have a soulmate, a soulmate that would have the same birthmark as you. And it just so happens that we've finally found him" Sophie explained.

Kurt frowned and placed his hand over his chest and watched as Klaus did the same.

"I really should've looked more into the birthmark" Burt muttered.

He remembers Elizabeth wanting to look more into the birthmark because she thought there was more to it.

But Burt always told her that there was no need to look into it since he thought it was just a birthmark and there was nothing special about it.

Oh how wrong he was.

Klaus removes his hand from his chest and turns around. He looks at Hayley and points a finger at her.

"You've been with someone else, admit it!" Klaus angrily yelled.

He stalks towards her causing Elijah to step forward to push his brother back. Kurt places himself in front of Hayley protectively.

A few people couldn't help but flinch at the yell coming from Klaus, it's clear how angry he was.

However, a few others couldn't help but smile at seeing Kurt stepping in front of Hayley ready to protect her.

They could tell he really cares for her.

"Hey, my best friend and I have spent days held captive in a freaking alligator bayou because they think that I'm carrying some magical miracle baby. Don't you think I would've fessed up if it wasn't yours?" Hayley angrily asked.

"My sister gave her life to perform the spell she needed to confirm this pregnancy and confirm that the boy is your soulmate. Because of Jane-Anne's sacrifice, the lives of this girl, her baby and her best friend are now controlled by us. We can keep them safe. Or we can kill them" Sophie said.

Hayley and Kurt's eyes widened at that while Elijah blinked, clearly surprised.

"If you don't help us take down Marcel, so help me, Hayley won't live long enough to see her first maternity dress and Kurt won't live long enough to see the next sunrise" Sophie threatened.

"Wait what?" Hayley and Kurt asked in unison.

"Wait what?" everyone in the theater asked in unison.

The new directions were growing worried for Kurt, they didn't want him to be killed and what's worse is that none of them were there to help him.

The warblers were worried for Kurt since he used to be one of them and he was still their friend, they didn't want him to be killed.

Hell, Sebastian himself was worried too.

He and Kurt may have hated each other in the beginning but they did resolve their issues but they aren't really friends.

But, even so, that doesn't mean he wants him dead.

The staff of McKinley were horrified at what they just learned, especially Sue.

Carole had her hand over her mouth in horror while Burt and Blaine were glaring at the screen.

"I will find them and kill them myself if they lay a hand on him" Blaine scowled.

"Get in line!" Burt angrily spat.

If anyone was going to kill those witches it was going to be him.

He'd kill anyone that even thinks about laying a finger on his son.

"Enough of this. If you want Marcel dead, he's dead. I'll do it myself" Elijah said.

"No. We can't, not yet. We have a clear plan that we need to follow, and there are rules" Sophie said.

Elijah looks at his brother just in time to see him turning around to look at Sophie.

"How dare you command me, threaten me, with what you wrongfully perceive to be my weaknesses. This is a pathetic deception. I won't hear any more lies" Klaus angrily spat.

Everyone couldn't help but flinch at the clear anger that was shown in his tone.

However, a few couldn't help but furrow their eyebrows at hearing another emotion in his tone as well.

They just couldn't quite tell what it was.

Klaus starts walking, ready to leave, but Elijah stops him.

"Niklaus!" Elijah yelled.

Klaus sighs in annoyance before looking at his brother. Elijah nods his head towards Hayley.

"Listen" Elijah calmly tells him.

Klaus clenched his jaw tightly before turning towards Hayley. The camera pans down to Hayley's stomach, where she has her hand over it, before the camera pans back over to Klaus.

Klaus remains silent before his eyes widen as he begins to hear the heartbeat of not only Hayley but the baby inside of her. He locks eyes with Hayley and she gives him a hesitant smile.

Klaus then looks at Kurt to see him clutching his chest. Klaus touches his own chest to which Kurt gives him a hesitant smile as well.

Everyone held their breaths, waiting to see what Klaus would do.

He heard the babies heartbeat and he knows that Kurt has the same birthmark that he does on his chest.

That is more than enough proof to show that none of them are lying.

Klaus presses his lips together as he removes his hand from his chest. He then turns to his brother and then the witches.

"Kill her, the baby and the boy. What do I care?" Klaus shrugged.

Elijah and Sophie look shocked at his words but Klaus just turns around and pushes past the other witches and leaves the cemetery.

Everyone's eyes widen at what Klaus just requested to be done to Hayley, her baby and Kurt.

They couldn't believe he would want them dead even after knowing that everything that was said is true.

"Is he for real right now?" Finn asked in disbelief.

"He's seriously just going to let them be killed without a care in the world?" Rachel asked in the same amount of disbelief.

"Bastard" Burt scowled, anger visible in his tone.

The life of his son, his only son, his pride and joy, was on the line but that bastard hybrid didn't care and would rather him be dead.

Hayley scoffs and shakes her head.

"Screw this. We're out of here!" Hayley yelled.

She grabs Kurt by the arm and begins to leave but the witches are quick to block the exit.

"What the hell are they doing?! Just let them leave!" Tina yelled.

"Yeah! That asshole clearly wants nothing to do with Hayley, the baby or Kurt. They should be allowed to leave!" Santana yelled.

The new directions nodded in agreement.

It's clear that Klaus didn't care for their friend, Hayley or even the baby for that matter.

Why the hell are they still being forced to stay in the cemetery? Why can't they leave?

Elijah looks at Sophie who raises an eyebrow at him.

"No one touches the girl or the boy. I'll fix this" Elijah sternly said.

Sophie nods and Elijah turns around and leaves to follow after his brother in order to convince him to reconsider.

"What the hell can he do to convince his asshole brother to reconsider?" Puck asked, scoffing.

Klaus made it clear that he didn't want anything to do with Hayley and the baby or Kurt. He made it clear that he doesn't care if they die.

If he was in the hybrids place, he would never see himself requesting a bunch of crazy witches to kill Quinn or Beth.

Because, unlike Klaus, he actually cared about his daughter and baby mama.

Some time has passed and we see that all the witches have gathered together in the cemetery to discuss their plans.

Hayley and Kurt stood together, looking bored and annoyed.

"I don't blame them" Coach Beiste sighed.

"Me neither" Ms. Pillsbury muttered.

The camera pans over to Sophie who's talking to one of the elder witches, Agnes.

"Marcel and his vampires are out of control. Something had to be done" Sophie said.

"And the solution is to bring in more vampires?" Agnes asked, placing a hand on her hip.

"These aren't just any vampires, Agnes. They're the Originals" Sophie told her.

"What makes you think you can control the hybrid?" Agnes asked.

"She can't" Elijah said.

This made everyone turn around and the camera pans over to Elijah who was by the entrance, leaning against the wall.

"Suit guy is alone. Meaning whatever his plan was failed" Sue rolled her eyes.

If Klaus wasn't with his brother that meant that he wasn't going to reconsider his decision.

Elijah pushes himself off the wall and walks forward.

"I'm not entirely certain that I can, either. But now that your coven has drawn his ire, I have a question. What prevents my brother from murdering you instead of cooperating?" Elijah asked.

Sophie nods and walks over to grab a needle. She looks at Elijah and shows it to him before sticking the needle into her hand.

"Ow!" Hayley yelled.

Kurt and Elijah look at her and their eyes widen when they see a drop of blood on her hand, exactly at the same point where Sophie poked herself.

Everyone's eyes widened at what just happened.

"What the hell?" Nick asked.

"How the hell is that possible if Sophie just poked herself and not Hayley?" Jeff asked, confused and worried.

Kurt places his hand on Hayley's shoulder before glaring at Sophie.

"What the hell did you do?" Kurt angrily asked.

"The spell my sister performed, the one that got her killed? It didn't just confirm the pregnancy. It linked me to Hayley. So anything that happens to me, happens to her. And while I'm not linked to Kurt I can easily kill him since he's just a human. Meaning, their lives are in my hands" Sophie explained.

Everyone felt their bodies tense at that.

As much as they didn't want to admit it they knew that Sophie had a point.

Hayley was a werewolf but Kurt was human meaning he could easily be killed even if he isn't linked to Sophie.

"I swear to god he better get him to reconsider" Burt muttered.

If Elijah didn't get Klaus to reconsider and tell Sophie that he will help her take down this Marcel guy, his son would die.

And that's the last thing he wants.

"Klaus may not care about his own child or his soulmate, but it's very clear what they already mean to you. If I have to hurt Hayley and Kurt, or worse, to ensure that I have your attention, I will" Sophie said.

"You would dare threaten an Original?" Elijah asked, an amused grin on his face.

Sophie shrugs and says, "I have nothing to lose".

Her words make the grin on Elijah's face disappear.

"You have until midnight to get Klaus to change his mind" Sophie told him.

Kurt sighed and rested his head on Hayley's shoulder.

"We're both dead" Kurt muttered.

Hayley sighed and rested her head on top of his, she didn't have to say anything to tell him that she agreed.

"Don't say that, Kurt" Blaine softly said.

He doesn't want to imagine Kurt being killed because of some guy that is supposedly his soulmate.

It still baffles him that soulmates are actually real and that Kurt has one and that's Klaus, an original hybrid or just a straight up asshole.

But that doesn't matter.

What matters is the fact that Kurt's life is on the line if his supposed soulmate doesn't agree to help Sophie.

He knows this sounds wrong but he was mainly concerned about Kurt rather than Hayley.

But it makes sense, at least to him, when he doesn't even know the girl to care what happens to her.

The scene changes to the next day where the camera pans to a beautiful white mansion.

We head inside where we see Kurt and Hayley in one of the rooms removing a white sheet, coughing due to the dust.

Everyone's eyes widen at seeing the two best friends in another place that wasn't the cemetery.

And if it was the next day then that means...

"I know what you're all thinking and before you ask, yes. Klaus did end up agreeing to Sophie's deal and because of that she released Kurt and Hayley to the original brothers" Gertrude explained.

After hearing that everyone released loud sighs of relief.

"Oh thank god" Burt breathed out, a hand over his chest.

"I'll say" Finn nodded, leaning back against Rachel.

Rachel smiled at him, feeling her heart racing a little, and gently patted his back.

"Are you two alright?" Elijah asked as he steps into the room.

"Just dust" Hayley said to which Kurt nodded.

"Yeah, this place is ancient" Kurt said.

"Yes, it should serve our purposes. It's a sanctuary from our business in the Quarter. Right now, you two are the most important people in this family. You'll need a good home" Elijah smiled.

Hayley nodded while Kurt offered him a faint smile.

"So I'm curious in all this time, has anyone asked either of you how you feel?" Elijah asked, looking at the duo.

"About having a miracle baby with a psychotic one night-stand?" Hayley asked with a raised eyebrow.

"About being mated to a hot original hybrid with anger issues?" Kurt asked with a raised eyebrow.

Everyone couldn't help but laugh at their words with a few shaking their heads in amusement.

Meanwhile, Blaine couldn't help but frown at Kurt calling Klaus hot.

It didn't sit well with him. He didn't like Kurt complimenting Klaus on his good looks.

"About being a mother" Elijah told Hayley.

He looked at Kurt and said, "about being mated to my brother".

Kurt blushed in embarrassment and looked down. Hayley chuckled at her best friend before looking at Elijah.

"I was abandoned when I was born and my adoptive parents kicked me out the second that I turned into a wolf. So, I don't really know how I feel about being a mother because I never really had a good one" Hayley explained.

Kurt, sensing his best friends sadness, wrapped an arm around her shoulder to comfort her.

When he and Hayley met she told him her backstory and he felt bad for her since all her life she has never really had anyone, all her life she has been on her own learning how to fend for herself.

Everyone couldn't help but feel sadness course through them at hearing Hayley's story.

Being abandoned by your biological parents is one thing but being kicked out by your adoptive ones, the ones that should've loved you and cared for you, is another.

And the fact that she had nobody to turn to and only had herself to rely on as years passed was sad.

"Poor girl. She should've never gone through that" Carole frowned.

She felt bad for what Hayley had gone through and wished she had met the girl so she could offer her shelter and guidance.

No child should ever have to survive on their own.

Kurt turns to Elijah and sees him waiting for him to respond.

"Uh...to be honest I'm not sure how to feel. I mean, I'm still trying to get used to the fact that supernatural beings exist. Finding out that soulmates exist and that I have one due to this birthmark is also something I'll have to get used to" Kurt explained.

Elijah nods in understanding as he glances between the two best friends.

"I will always protect you both. You have my word on that" Elijah sternly said.

Kurt nods at him while Hayley allows a half smile to appear on her face.

A few people couldn't help but smile at Elijah's words while a few others just nodded.

While they didn't like or trust Klaus, probably never will, they did like and trust Elijah.

And by the way he speaks they know that he's someone that keeps his promises.

They know that he'll keep that promise and do everything he can to keep Kurt and Hayley safe.

The camera pans over to Klaus, who has just appeared, and he leans against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest.

"And noble Elijah always keeps his word" Klaus grinned.

"Is it done?" Elijah asked.

"As a matter of fact, yes. Your underhanded deal worked quite well. Marcel was only too happy to accept my blood even as he accepted my heartfelt apologies. His man, Thierry, yet lives and I remain a welcome guest in the French Quarter. My only concern now is this coven of impudent witches" Klaus said.

"I believe them to be honorable. They did release Hayley and Kurt to me. Although, they haven't been entirely forthcoming. Marcel obviously has something that they need. They don't want him dead. There must be a reason why" Elijah said.

Everyone frowned and couldn't help but ponder his words.

They had to admit that he was right about the witches not wanting Marcel dead despite the fact that they want to take him down.

It didn't make sense at first.

But if there is something that Marcel has that they want, that they need, that's definitely why they don't want him dead.

Klaus shrugs and leaves to which Elijah frowns before following behind him.

Kurt sighs now that he and Hayley are alone and looks at his best friend who looks at him.

"This is our life now, huh?" Kurt asked.

"I guess so" Hayley shrugged.

"Well, I know that no matter what happens we still have each other and we'll protect each other. Right?" Kurt asked.

Hayley smiles and says, "of course".

She wraps her arm around his waist and the two of them leave the room to unpack their stuff that they brought with them.

As the screen turned black, indicating that the episode is over, everyone couldn't help but smile at the scene between Kurt and Hayley.

However, they also couldn't help but feel worried.

The witches may have released Kurt and Hayley but Sophie is still linked to Hayley.

Whatever happens to her will happen to Hayley. Her life, as well as Kurt's, is literally in her hands.

They believe that this is just the beginning of something more.

And they didn't know if they were ready to see what would be happening.
