Chapter 7

Sally

I opened my eyes before blinking a couple of times to clear my vision as I felt someone shaking me. I looked to see that Nick was trying to wake me up.

"Finally, you're up. I thought you were dead," Nick teased.

"Good morning. What time is it now?" I asked, sitting up and rubbing my sleepy eyes.

"It's seven-fifteen. You should hurry up. Our first class starts at eight," Nick stated.

I hastily dragged myself out of bed and ran around the whole room like a lost puppy to search for my slippers and prepare my outfit.

"Shit! Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" I shouted.

"Your alarm kept ringing and we woke up. Our neighbors woke up too from the annoying sound of your alarm, but you didn't. You just kept snoring," Nick teased.

"Oh, come on! I don't snore in my sleep," I rolled my eyes at him before entering the bathroom.

I urgently turned on the faucet and stood under the shower to freshen myself, and get rid of any sweat. I didn't stay long though. I exited the bathroom after brushing my teeth. Jesus Christ! I was never that late in my entire life. I had no idea how I didn't wake up when my alarm rang. Julia and the boys were waiting for me to get ready. I grabbed a black blouse and a pair of jeans with lace-up boots.

After changing my clothes, I quickly tied my hair up into a long plait.

"I'm ready. It's seven-forty. We must step on it," I rushed as we all checked our books and notes before leaving our dorm.

"I can't believe that I'm almost late," I mumbled as we strode to arrive at our classes on time.

"Don't worry. It's just one day though," Daniel shrugged.

"I hope my professor won't tell me off today," Julia sighed.

"Here we are. It's still ten minutes before our classes begin. We're not that late," Josh said as we all waved goodbye to each other and everyone went to his class.

I headed towards my lecture theatre and breathed out in relief when I saw that the class hadn't started yet. I spotted Jacob sitting in the front row, revising some notes.

"Hey," I greeted as I had a seat next to him.

"Oh! You're here. I thought you were going to skip today's classes," Jacob replied as his eyes lit up looking at me.

"Of course not. I just woke up late today. It has never happened before," I chuckled.

"You never woke up late before? What kind of human are you?" Jacob raised an eyebrow.

I laughed a little at his words and he joined in before the professor arrived and started to explain our new topic for today.

I yawned many times during the class as I felt tired. Ugh! My mind seemed like it hadn't fully woken up yet because I didn't have my coffee in the morning. I wouldn't be able to continue my day without my beloved coffee.

After hours, we finally finished our classes for the day and put our books back inside our bags.

"Are you free this weekend?" Jacob asked as we walked towards my friends.

"Yes, we don't really have plans," I shrugged.

Jacob greeted the squad as soon as we arrived at them.

"Hey guys, I was wondering if we can go out again together next weekend. What do you say?" Jacob suggested.

"Sure. It will be so fun. Julia, you have to join us this time," Daniel agreed.

"Okay, I guess next weekend is fine. I don't have any duties to do," Julia smiled.

"What about going to a nightclub?" Jacob asked.

The boys promptly agreed as they clapped their hands amusedly. Julia and I thought about it for a minute. Nightclubs weren't really our thing.

"Oh, come on! It's just for once. It won't hurt," Daniel pleaded as he noticed that we hesitated to answer.

I looked at Julia to see confusion in her dark eyes. I gave her a small smile and nodded. Maybe one time wasn't that bad after all. It wouldn't hurt, I believed. She finally rolled her eyes in approval after the tenth time of begging her to agree. After planning our hangout and meeting's time, we got back to our dorms.

"I'm starving," Daniel groaned.

"Me too," Julia added.

"What about ordering fast food today? Julia and I aren't in the mood for cooking," I said.

"All right, sounds cool," Nick agreed.

I grabbed my phone and dialed the hot line of our favorite restaurant.

"What are you going to have?" I asked them as the call rang, waiting for someone to answer me.

"I'll have a small beef burger with just fries," Julia said.

"You already know my favorite. A nugget sandwich with Cola," Nick winked.

"Okay. I'll have a chicken burger with fries and Cola," I stated.

"I'll have the same as you," Daniel told me.

Finally, someone answered my call and I informed him with our order. He told me that our order would be here after half an hour, so it wasn't that bad. I grabbed a white pajama out of the wardrobe and changed my clothes.

"Guys, what about listening to some music until our order arrives?" Daniel suggested.

"No, I want to read a book. I haven't finished pride and prejudice yet," Josh moaned.

"Damn! Books are boring, dude. I'll play one of my favorite songs. It's called Death Bed by Powfu," Daniel grinned.

He played the song on his phone and turned up the volume to maximum. The song wasn't bad actually. I enjoyed it so much and so did all of us, including Josh. I swayed my body with Julia. We all laughed at our silly dance moves, but we enjoyed our time. After dancing for a while, finally our doorbell rang and it felt like music to our ears. We forthwith realized that our food had arrived.

"I'll open," Josh said.

"Why are you always the one who offers to open the door? Are you a janitor?" Nick teased.

"No, I'm just saving people's lives. If anyone saw you like this with messy hair and no shirt on, he would pass out," Josh smirked and we couldn't help but laugh so loudly.

I didn't even notice that Nick was a mess. He was only in his jeans and didn't wear a T-shirt. His bare chest was muscular and his biceps were big and robust. I never really saw any of my guy friends shirtless before. Except for Daniel when we dared him to do so.

"I'm resurient and the food smells so damn delicious," Daniel shouted as soon as Josh got back with our food.

We all sat down across each other at the table and started to distribute the food. As I dug into the bag to grab my sandwich, I noticed an uncanny letter lying in the bottom of the bag.

"Guys, I think I found something," I swallowed hard as I slowly grabbed the letter out of the bag.

They all stopped eating and stared at me, waiting for me to unfold it and read. I gnawingly opened the envelope and grabbed out the letter.

"Don't stay awake for too long
Don't go to bed. I'll make a cup
of coffee for your head.
~Death Bed~"

"Oh my God! These are the lyrics of the song which we were listening to minutes ago," Daniel's eyes widened as his mouth was wide open.

A/N: I think they shouldn't ignore those letters anymore as they're getting serious more than ever. How should they react about those letters they receive?
