Chapter 7 - Why?

-Chapter 7-

-Ty's POV-

The song came flooding through my headphones, a sweet melody that emptied into my ears. I grinned, feeling the velvet of Sky's shirt against my cheek. I was laying my head on his, breathing softly as I felt myself drift off.

Dawn still wasn't done with her story, and I knew that. I just couldn't listen any more, I guess. So Sky put on my headphones, and I leaned against him in order to fall asleep.

So far, it was working, and I could feel myself drifting off.

"Dawn....plans.....landing...." Small words leaked into my world, but other than that, I was alone and sleeping soundly.

Sky's fingers threaded softly through my hair, making me sigh in pure bliss. It was so amazing to have him simply next to me.

"Ty," hissed a sudden voice. "Stop daydreaming."

My eyes flipped open in one second. The blaring of the car horns and flashing of the city illuminated the building I was at the top of. I glanced around, thoroughly confused.

"Come here." Whispered the voice again. I glanced over to where it seemed to be coming from ; a rail that looked out over the suspecting city.

There was no one there. The wind whipped through my hair, tussling it around.

Where was I? Was this my dream? I'm on a plane, sleeping on Adams arm right now.

So what is this place? And why am I here? Usually, my dreams show some sort of revelence or connection to what I'm doing or what's going on in my life. Basically, I usually know the places I'm in.

But this place? I have no idea. I've never been here before, and I don't recognize the skyliner.

"Come here," said the voice again. I didn't recognize that either.

I walked over to the railing, my feet feeling as if they were walking on clouds. As soon as I reached the supporter, however, they turned to lead, and I almost collapsed from the sudden change. Instead, I grabbed the railing and clung on for dear life.

I suppose that is what it's for.

"I apologize," said the voice, stronger and more confident than before. There was a rush of winds around me, and they all seemed to surge in the spot behind me. Before I could speak, there were legs next to me.
The wind kept playing and building, creating a woman as they rushed. As soon as they finished, there was a young girl there, about fifteen years of age.

She had border-length brown hair, with deep brown eyes, just like mine. She had a white dress on, and was about the same height as me, maybe a touch taller. Her cheeks were bent in, showing her cheekbones cutely.

There was a strange mark on her chin. It was as if she was dribbling, but it was skin, rather twisted. I could tell she had gotten stitches there, and half of me wanted to ask why. The other half knew that she wasn't here to explain why her chin was disoriented.
The thing that really stood out to me, however, was how many emotions her eyes held. They had sadness, proudness, and desperateness. They also resonated strength, and maybe even a touch of...guilt.

"How..." I gasped, staring at her. She didn't even bother to look at me, simply kept her eyes trained on the busying streets that lay so far below us.

"It's beautiful." She said softly, completely ignoring my shock. "Isn't it?"

"..." I followed her eyes, looking back down. Personally, I enjoyed being this high and looking down. It gave me a feeling of courage and openess.

"Yeah," I nodded in agreement. "It really is."

She moved, now placing her head in her palm. She still didn't move her eyes, almost as if she was afraid to look at me.

"I apologize from this."

"How old are you?" It was now my time to ignore her, and ask the question on my mind. I know I should be demanding who she was, or if she was going to, ya know, kill me.

However, I didn't. If this girl was as old as I thought she was, I needed to know. She looks so young...

"Nineteen." She answered, a small smile dancing across her lips. "I know I look small and all. I could see it in his eyes, he thought the same."

"Whose he?"

Once again, she ignored me, and I had to roll my eyes. Well, at least this girl is of age. She isn't wondering around aimlessly, either. It's just something I can tell.

"What would you like?" I asked a different question, hoping for a different outcome. She seemed to shift uncomfortably, but it was true in her eyes that she was going to answer my question.

"I am not bad," she said softly. "I am here to protect you, actually."

"That not what I asked," I grumbled, getting a little aggravated at this woman's approach.

"No, it's not." She said with a chuckle. "However, it is something you need to hear, for your own good. I know you were thinking it, p- Ty, so don't go against it."

"Why are you here?" I took a deep sigh before asking. It was quite evident that this woman wasn't going to actually leave until she got her respected point across, so I decided to simply ask the questions I knew she was to answer.

"I'm here to warn you," she answered. "The baby. It is a good child, and will grow up rather strong. But...things will go wrong before you have it."

"Like what?" I asked, slightly alarmed. I grabbed onto the railing to steady myself, as my feet were feeling heavier.

"You are going to trust someone who should not be trusted. They will take advantage of you, and it will hurt. I am here to warn you : do. Not. Trust. Them."

"But why?! Who are they and what do they do to me?!"

"I can't tell you." She said said, moving so that her fingers were supported her chin, elbow resting on the railing. She seemed perfectly fine, not effected.

"It is my power that is effecting your legs," she said with the softest smile. "I do not get effected by my own resonance."

I nearly passed out. She was scaring me now. How did she know I was thinking that?!?!

"How did you-"

"Your friend gave me the power," she giggled shaking her head. "It is rather fun to play with people, you know!"

"Which friend-"

Before I could continue, there was a loud beeping. Her eyes widened, and she looked down at her watch-like thing. I could tell it wasn't one, though, because there was no actual time. It had many buttons, and in the middle there was a circle, with a number on it.

0:30.

0:29.

0:28.

It was counting down?

"I have to go," she gasped, jumping up.

"Wait!" I cried, going to grab her wrist, but missed. Her dress flailed behind her, creating a vail.

"Before you go," I said confidently. "Please, tell me your name."

She cocked her head to one side, as if expecting me. The beeping continued, seconds quickly diminishing.

"Please, tell me!"

A small smile crossed her face, and she glanced back up at me. "Spoilers."

"Quit quoting shows and answer me! This is serious!"

"No," she said, her smile fading a look of promise on her face. "That is a hint to my name. Figure it out, and you will know."

"But-" there was a bang, a flash of light, and then wind rushed past me once more. I shivered in the cold as it formed a mass around her, seemingly picking her up.

"I'm sorry," she apologized once more. "But I most go." Her feet began to dissolve, and I stared, dumb-founded.

"Will I ever see you again?" I asked over the roar of the wind, which wisped and curled her body in a playful sense.

"Yes," she answered with a very wide, and may I say proud, grin. "You will."

And with that, the wind swallowed her up. It was dozens of long, spacious seconds before it cleared, dashing past me once more.

And the young girl was gone, picking up into the breeze.

I let out a sigh, my legs finally beginning to go back to normal. Dragging myself over to the rial, I glanced over the city once more.

Who was she, why is she here, and why did she take ME along?

....Why?
