Chapter 46 - Enemies
-Chapter 46-
•Hopes POV•
Things were going well ; I mean, as far as I could tell. Ty talked to me with a confused layer in his voice, which was good. It was what I wanted to do.
Even though, as I stared at my Daddy, it was hard to believe that this was him. He had dark brown eyes, a lot more pained than they are today. Or, in my times.
However, he held something in them, something that shown brightly, glowing above everything else about him.
He had happiness. My Papa had brought that to him.
The thought brought a smile to my face, but before I could say anything stupid or rash, the watch Seto gave me suddenly started beeping, very loudly at that. My eyes widened and I looked down, gaping at the numbers that were suddenly counting down.
0:30.
0:29.
0:28.
What? What did Seto do? I knew this wasn't just a watch. No shit Sherlock.
"I have to go," I gasped, jumping up from my comfortable position on the deck, arms still tingling from leaning on them.
"Wait!" I heard Daddy cry behind me, moving from his own place and struggling to drag his lead legs over to me. I actually didn't know if those were caused by my powers until I saw them ; the dark purple emitting from them was identical to Seto's magic.
And this dress is a product of Seto's magic.
"Before you go," He pleaded, staring at me with big puppy eyes. "Please, tell me your name."
I bit my bottom lip, staring at him for a long time while I debated. Telling him my name could go horribly wrong ; just with that one little word so many people could die!
No, I couldn't do that...I had to find a loophole..
"Please, tell me!" He continued to plea, still staring at me with big, round begging eyes,
A small smile crossed my face as my brain generated an idea. It wasn't the best, but I couldn't think of anything else in the small time space I had been allowed. I slowly looked up at him, a small grin spreading on my face.
"Spoilers."
"Quit quoting shows and answer me! This is serious!" I just chuckled at his response. Then, a thought came.
Maybe that wasn't the best idea. No going back now, I suppose.
"No," I said, my smile fading slightly as I processed everything that could go wrong with this conversation. "That is a hint to my name. Figure it out, and you will know."
Please let the thirty seconds be done...!
"But-" there was a bang, a flash of light, and then wind flew towards me, spiraling and looping as it enclosed my arms and legs in a cage of air. The feeling was strange, yet it sent a jolt of happiness through your spine.
"I'm sorry," I said once more "But I most go." I could feel my legs being separated, the air teleporting them back to the house, where Seto was patiently waiting.
Ty stared in wonder eyes big as saucers as he watched me basically begin to fade away.
Daddy...
"Will I ever see you again?" I heard, practically being roared over the screaming and screeching of the wind.
"Yes," I answered, happiness still pumping through my veins as a wide smile spread across my face. "You will."
POOF
Before I heard Ty's answer, I was in Seto's home, kneeling down on the black portal I had used to get into the dream. I was on my knees, coughing and sputtering for air. I didn't realize how tired I was until I took a break.
"Hope!' Cried Seto, suddenly launching himself at me. I gasped, his arms wrapping around my neck.
"Oh thank god! Your okay! The entire thing was falling apart, if I gave you any more time, you would've been smashed under the dreams pressure!"
"...So..." I mumbled, getting up shakily. "Not good?"
"No," Seto mumbled, nodding quickly in agreement as he looked over his glowing mystical sphere. "Listen, I have some bad news. Like, very bad. I want you to go change into the copies of your clothes I have in the bathroom. Afterwards, come out and I'll explain everything to you."
I was changed in under two minutes flat (I basically ripped off my clothes and threw the others on) and was sitting next to Seto at the small table. He was staring at the wall intently, like he was giving it a stare down, a mix of emotions in his eyes.
"So, what came up...?" I asked slowly, spinning myself around absentmindedly in the chair.
"We made a mistake." Seto's voice was doused with worry, but, at the same time, he seemed to be a little relieved. It was a combination that mashed and battled each other, leaving me...clueless.
"Can we fix it?!" I asked quickly, eyes widening at the shock of the information.
Seto quickly nodded, turning to me for the first time since I sat down, and fully facing me. "No, we can fix it. But it won't be an easy fix..."
"What's the problem?' I asked, beginning to lose my tempter with the way he worked himself around the subject, dodging the actual answer.
Of course, when I say that, he decides to answer my question head on. "The way that we're changing things, Herobrine will never come back, okay?!"
"...Whose...Herobrine?"
"He's a bad guy, that's all you have to know. But the point is, if he never comes, he isn't able to infect your fathers life. With that, Sky will never meet Ty, they'll never know each other, both will be completely unhappy with their lives and you will never have been born."
My eyes widened, and I slowly nodded trying to think about the information THUROUGHLY before just spitting out an answer like I usually do.
"What do we do...to fix it...?" I said slowly. I must've failed in some way...
"That's the hard part." I became aware of Seto's hand clenching tightly, eyes squeezed shut in anger and nervousness. I reached over, patting his shoulder awkwardly, and then quickly taking it away out of pure embarrassment.
"We...we have to throw things in their way."
"What...what do you mean?"
"In telling Ty to watch out, he doesn't trust anyone, and Herobrine is erased in doing that. Everything changes. We have to distract Ty from the fact of not trusting anyone. If we throw other problems in his face, he'll forget about Herobrine, giving him the time to jump in and hurt him..."
"So..." Anger blazed through me. "Your asking me to hurt my daddy so someone else can hurt him right after?!"
"Hope..." Seto whispered, and I glanced down, noticing his shoulders shaking lightly from the stress. "I don't want to do this as much as you do. It's the only way though. We have to."
Suddenly, his head snapped up, eyes wide and jaw hanging down to the floor.
"I GET IT!" He cried suddenly, jumping up. I gasped, watching him.
"What'd you get...?"
"In the party, Ty and Sky were really angry at me! I didn't understand it, because I didn't think I had done anything wrong, but now I understand!"
"Then could you explain it to me please...?"
"In the future, when you and I are sabotaging Sky and Ty, they're going to find out its me. They'll hate me because they'll think I was hurting them. They'll see us acting as villains to save them and assume things.
"Hope..." He slowly turned around, a sad smirk on his face as he locked his eyes into mine.
"We have to be the enemies."
