Chapter 32 - Like a Stab To The Heart
-Chapter 32-
~Sky's POV~
"W...What?" I stuttered, clutching the wilted body just a little closer. There was no blood on the floor, no broken bones...but it still worried me to death.
What had they done to him? I had no idea, but knowing Ryan, it wasn't good.
Why on earth didn't he KNOW ME?! We've been married forever....we've been together...
"I'm...I'm really sorry..." Ty whispered. His arms slowly lifted up, placing themselves gently on my back. His fingers didn't curl around the material and clutch on, like they usually did. They simply lay there, idle and confused.
"A-Am I supposed to know...who you are?" His voice shook, and I responded by burying my head into his shoulder and taking a deep breath in, trying to pull all of my thoughts together.
He smelled strange, I thought. It was almost like chemicals...a tangy, rotten smell that made my nose shrivel and a soft cough to shake my body.
I was putting all the pieces together, when suddenly, Ty's fingers curled into the soft cotton on my back, and his head dove into my chest as a loud scream fell from his lips, voice cracking and breaking.
"Shh..." I whispered, tears fighting at the back of my eyes as I slowly reached up, threading my fingers through the shaking bodies hair.
My brain and body wanted to focus on the fact that Ty seemed to have no idea who I was, the fact that he didn't even know my name breaking my heart.
However, I knew that I had to focus on the fact that my husband - whether he remembers or not - is in the middle of labor and I need to help him through it and forget the rest.
For now.
I quickly leaned back, but kept my hands and arms around my Ty, making sure he was safe from all the impending doom.
I got more comfortable, crossing my legs, and then gently pulled the whimpering Ty onto my lap. He immediately buried his head into my chest, just like he would've if he remember...
"I'm really sorry..." He whispered, voice still cracking "I feel like I should remember you. Your so familiar. But I really don't remember."
"Shh..." Once more, I ran my fingers through his hot-chocolate colored hair, catching it between my fingers before leaning down and pressing a kiss to his forehead. "What DO you remember?"
"Well...I'm Tyler Dahlberg."
"Yes." My lips pulled into a smile, thankful for the fact that he at least remembered he was married. If I told him my last name, maybe he would remember. "That right, go on."
"I'm married....my parents died in a car crash...my brother is a drunkar-" before he could continue, he stiffened in my arms before burying his fingers into my chest and letting out another sharp cry.
I knew we had some time before the baby came. First time pregnancies take a lot of time to deliver ; a lot of times it's even over eight or nine hours. I didn't know how Ty was going to do, though...
"What's that pain?!" He demanded, voice angry and confused, but he spoke softly, like he was afraid of attracting too much attention. "It's been happening since I woke up...I don't know what's going on...where am I, anyways? Who are you? What HAPPENED to me?!"
"Shh..." I said. "I'll explain everything to you when I fully understand. But I'm Adam Dahlberg, and we're married. Through a rather strange series of events, you became pregnant, and your currently in labor with our child."
"....Adam...? But...I don't even know anyone by that name...and I'm not married...anyways, I'm straight! And I have a crush on a FEMALE."
That was like a stab to the heart. I slowly leaned forward, his words repeating over and over again in my head.
He...doesn't love me?
My voice cracked as I slowly spoke "No...no no no...Ty...you loved me...we......we were so ready...a family...we were going to have...i-it all..." I lowered my head to his level, slowly pressing a kiss to the skin of his forehead and feeling his hot and painful breaths against my neck.
"And they took it all away...they took your memory Ty, I promise you..."
"But...I have such strong feelings for her...how can they be fake...?"
Suddenly, I truly understood.
The drug they had out in Ty before, the failed attempt, one of the side effects had been 'memory lose'. When I was rushing in here, I accidentally stepped on an empty bottle. Thankfully, the glass didn't harm me, but I didn't take the time to look at it before I kept running.
Working out where Ty was had been easy. Getting there was another problem in and of itself. It was pouring out, and I had to conspicuous if I wanted to get in, so I couldn't just drive the car up to the driveway. I walked it, since it wasn't a long distance, but when I came in I was soaking wet and worried about my husband.
I came running into this room, and then found him here.
They must've done a potion to drug him, the used the memory lose effect to scramble him up and replace all of his thoughts with lies.
I hugged the body closer, an intense goal glowing in my mind.
I will protect Ty, and the baby, and I will get Ty's memories back, not matter what.
I hope I don't break this promise like all the other times.
"A-Adam." He suddenly said, pulling me from my thoughts. My eyes shot down, and I saw a very alarmed Ty. He was clawing at my shirt, tears of confusion welling in his eyes.
"Whats wrong?!" I asked worriedly. They hadn't hurt the baby, had they?! What's going on?!
"It hurts. It really hurts." He whispered, looking down.
I gently got up, pressing another quick kiss to his forehead before removing myself from him. I sat him up against the wall, telling him I would be right back, and then walked over to the entrance.
There, on the floor, was the shattered and ripped piece bottle.. Glass and sharp edges littered the ground, making it treacherous to even try to get near it.
However, I had to.
Slowly and carefully, I walked over, being extra cautious to step on the places in between the glass instead of on it.
I gently picked up the shard that held the right, making sure not to place my delicate skin on the jagged edges, and turned it over to read the small instructions.
My eyes scanned over all of the side effects, before resting on one in particular.
"May cause quick or premature labor. Do not take if expecting."
I dropped it in shock, allowing it to shatter on the floor.
"TY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
-2 Hours Lately-
Ty lay against the wall, eyes closed and peacefully dreaming. I grinned at him, reaching forward and brushing his hair out of his eyes with my thumb.
It didn't matter that he didn't remember me, not right now anyways. He trusted me, and we would get to the details later. All that mattered was the small and fragile form in my arms.
Young Hope Dahlberg stared up at me with big, glossy blue eyes, mouth opened slightly and arms tucked away under the blanket we had immediately cleaned her up with. Her breath was soft and smooth, nose tiny and features showing of both mine and Ty's.
She was our child. Our little baby. The person we had been awaiting for nine months had finally arrived, and it brought tears to my eyes to stare down at her in awe.
"D-Dawn..." Stirred Ty in his sleep, and I stared up at him with wide eyes. Was he having nightmares about that fu- I mean witch again.
Small child, can't swear any more...
I gently reached out, taking Ty's shoulder in my hand and giving it a gentle shake. His eyes snapped open and he yawned, stretching himself out. I held our baby in the other, rocking her subconsciously.
"Hm...?" He asked slowly, then groaned softly. "Ugh...everything hurts. What happened?"
"I'll explain at home." I said, secretly thinking, along with restoring your memories and making you know who I am again.
"C'mon. Let's go."
