Chapter 19 - Whats the Gender?!?!
-Chapter ....19?-
-Sky's POV-
With one hand on the steering wheel on front of me, the other entangled with Ty's and resting on the arm rest, I was beginning to get unsettled.
Today was the day. We found out the sex of our baby, the being Ty had been carrying for twelve weeks now, and will continue to carry for another twenty-four weeks.
It was obvious Ty was nervous too, since he kept clenching and unclenching my hand. I grinned to myself ; personally, I was just so excited to find out that I didn't really care WHAT gender it was.
It's still our baby, anyways.
"What gender do you want?" I asked him suddenly, itching to make some conversation to coax him out of this frightened shell he had somehow curled into when I wasn't looking.
Small grin spread across his face, he answered in a heartbeat. "No matter what gender it is, I'll still love them."
"That's it? You don't want one more than the other?"
"Well, yes. I'm afraid that if I say it, it'll jinx it in a way. So we'll just see."
We exchanged wide grins, love shining in both of our arms. Minutes passed in silence, our hands clasped tightly together and Ty's other hand resting around his stomach, which had yet to form any sort of bump or lump in its texture.
"Are you scared of the doctors again?" I asked softly, gazing out the window as I took the next right, only ten minutes from hospital, quite a cut-down from the original fifty minute drive.
"A little. But this time, it's not like we're just showing up and going 'Hey, I'm a male, I've got a penis and no ovaries, but we've somehow managed to impregnate me!',"
I cracked up at his explanation, realizing how much of a short distance it was from the truth. Maybe we left out out the penis part, but the rest of it was dead-on.
"This time, though, they know I'm coming, so it's not gonna be much of a shock. And they have special people who deal with strange or special pregnancies, so I'm not dealing with a man whose used to seeing vaginas instead of penis's."
"True," I answered, tilting my head. "They'll definitely be more experienced. Hey, tell me if they stare." I winked at him in a clichè and corny way. "I'll protect 'ya, cutie."
We both started laughing, I shaking my head as I drove, and Ty gazing out the window as his shoulders shook with giggles. After the laughter died down, we went back to the treasured, comfortable silence of knowing each other was there.
After a few more short minutes, only five from the hospital now, Ty took a deep breath. I peered over, readying myself for whatever he was reluctant to speak of.
"...Can we talk about Seto?"
I nodded quickly, looking back at the road and training both hands now, as our link broke off. "Yeah. I still...-"
"Can't believe it?"
"Yes, exactly. I mean...I know we've had rocky times, after kicking him out of TC and stuff..."
"I still voted against that." Ty spoke softly, looking away from me. The months after we got home from Minecraft were still rough and hazy, as Ty went to psychiatrists and we all went our separate ways. Somewhere along the way we broke into a fight, and in result, Seto was voted off of TC.
(a/n not actually what happened ; I am not speaking on this subject right now, this is simply here for the books storyline and rights.)
It was true that that topic was still a sore subject, but Seto and I had regained our friendship over the months, so the black bruise was slowly healing.
"Yeah, babe, I know. But still...we've done videos with him, we're friends again. He has no reason to rebel against us like this."
"Especially to such a ferocity. I don't remember doing anything to piss him off ; and even if I did, why the hell would he try to KILL me for it?"
"Exactly." A growing anger sparked in my stomach, like a mouse darting out for a piece of cheese, it grew for seconds on end before shrinking back to its normal rate once more. "He better have a good excuse for doing this, or 'imma kick his ass."
Ty laughed softly, turning his head back to the window and gazing out with wondering and fascinating eyes. "Count me in."
"...If it actually is him..." I said very slowly, being causious of my words.
"I'm afraid to think of that. He would've changed. I can't help but wonder..."
"Did it break him?" We said in unison, exchanging looks and locking eyes as our brains began turning their wheels and working over time to solve the history.
"When he got us home-"
"-Did it hurt him that bad?" Our lock stayed, as if searching in each other's eyes would bring out a secret, hidden answer hid by the sparkle and glinting of the light off our orbs.
"But," Ty said slowly, shaking his head and training his eyes ahead. I did the same, looking forward ; so we wouldn't, you know, die in a car crash.
"Would Ian say someth-"
"Ty," I said suddenly, quickly turning the wheel in order to direct the car into the tight parking lot in front of the hospital. "We're here, babe."
My partner let out a very long, very shaky breath, clutching the armrest like it was his life-savor. I suppose all the nervousness suddenly came crashing on his head, because suddenly he looked like he was about to pass out.
"Don't worry Ty, don't worry." I reached over, tightly gripping his fingers in mine, raising his hands and kissing his knuckle with soft lips, trying to help regain any color to his face. Slowly he nodded, turning and opening his door.
"I'm ready."
-Time Skip-
-Ty's POV-
Sky stood by my side as we waited for the doctor to come by, his hand around my waist as I sat on the high doctors table, swinging my legs uselessly.
"Ty," Adam said with a soft smile. "Just try to calm down. Will you tell me what gender you want now?"
"....-" I opened my mouth to speak, but was quickly cut off by the creaking of a door as the doctor slowly entered the room, grinning at my husband and I.
"Hello, Tyler Dahlberg and Adam Dahlberg?" He asked us, taking a quick glance at the sheet to confirm that he had said our names correctly. Once he nodded his head, he glanced back up, sending us a small smile.
"Excited to learn the gender today?"
We both nodded quickly, eager to just get the answer already.
"Yes, very." Sky said, squeezing me a little tighter and a little closer to him. I found my nervousness returning as I balled the sheets around me into my fists ; clutching onto them for dear life.
"Well," the doctor said shortly, imerging with a glass of white, slimy gel. He unscrewed the cap, and I pulled my shirt up.
"This is going to be cold, okay?" He asked me, and I nodded shortly in response. Sky moved from his spot next to me, going over to the monitor and expecting it, so he could be the first to know the gender of our child.
HOLY SHIT THATS COLD.
After I got over the initial shock, I calmed down and let the man smear the important gel over my stomach. He soon stopped, waiting about ten long, dreadful seconds, before...
BEEP
A grin spread across Sky's face, and without hesitating, he ran forward and hugged me.
"TY! WE HAVE A-"
-A/N-
...I'm trying to decide whether I should watch Black Butler. I'm really into Hetalia and I know that if I watch it I'll lose my #Gerita obsession and become one with whatever #Ciel-x-Sebastions ship name is.
#FirstWorldShippingProblems
ANYWAYS! Sky and Ty are only going to be on vacation for three more chapters so leave a comment done below, telling me what you want them to do there! I kinda had snorkling and now I'm at a lose for ideas XD
