This is mainly for dark kind of, but also because I've really wanted to say this for a while now.

Where to start?

Okay FIRST before I say anything, I'm going to establish the fact that I DON'T HATE GREEK/NORSE/EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY. I love it. It's wonderful. So nobody hate on me today, okay, because I am going to be talking about the reasons why I'm shying away from them sometimes!

(If you love all the cliches that come with them, don't read the rest of this because you may or may not be triggered)

My biggest pet peeve lies in GREEK MYTHOLOGY. I love it, it's amazing, but sometimes I just, I just get so annoyed with how once one bigshot author writes about their take on the gods or the universe, suddenly THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE. The biggest example here is obviously Rick Riordan and I love his writing, it's wonderful, never fails to make me laugh, but I just get so darn annoyed when I see other stories of greek gods not being able to move away from the stereotype he's written down.

Look, fam, is it REALLY so hard to ask for a Hephestus that AIN'T big, buff, a rough worksmith? A MALE Aphrodite who isn't obsessed with herself and has big boobs? 

I'm just just speaking for other people, I'm speaking also for myself. A big fat reason why I DON'T write anything that involves gods of famous mythologies (like greek) IS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO GET BEATEN UP WHEN PEOPLE SEE MY DIFFERENT TAKE ON IT AND GO "the heck is this?? greek mythology ain't like this!"

Well, guess what, IT'S BEEN AROUND FOR CENTURIES AND SO FAR, THE GODS HAVEN'T STRIKED ME DEAD FOR THINKING THIS SO TAKE THAT!

I guess my main point is that I'm kind of tired of seeing the mythologies that are commonly written and read by people overshadowing other probably equally awesome, if not a little bit harder to understand mythologies. 

Now that I've finished, I feel ultra ridiculous and somebody's going to comment on that and flame me, BUT I DID WARN YOU!

But yeah that's my little rant, it's been in my head for a while now. Although it's not very long because I have a whole butt speech on why I don't enjoy rereading anything by Rick Riordan as much anymore even though I love it.
