Welp

'Whelp. I'm screwed.'  Poškozená thought as he dodged the bullets and avoided getting hit. Connecticut was the closest to him and had knives. Very sharp looking knives. 'If only I could disable the lights... wait, I saw a small panel by the door!' Poškozená thought before shooting the panel and disabling the lights. He managed to turn off everyone else's sensor trackers but kept his up. 'Time to eliminate.' Poškozená started to hunt the agents in the pitch black room.

"Shit! I lost track of the rookie!" York said into the comms. Connecticut started to panic.
"I think he's after m..." her radio crackled. The other agents started to realize that their hood trackers weren't working. All of a sudden, the radios emitted a loud burst of sound then absolute silence.
"I will win this or you will kill me, agents. Connecticut is out. York, you are next." An accented voice stated coldly, sending terror into the trained agents' minds. York started to freak out.
"Gu,guys, he knows where we are! He'll get us all.. HOLY SH..."

A section of the room lit up with gunfire for a second before darkness descended once more. They wondered who was next. Florida slowly made his way to the door, trying to get to the panel to restore the light when he felt a gun shoved into the back of his neck.

"Goodnight, agent." The voice of the recruit whispered before Florida knew no more. Wyoming had the same idea, stumbled over the unconscious body of his husband, and radioed the others. He made it to the panel but found that all the wires had been removed and there was nothing to salvage. Someone kicked him in the gut, sending him to the floor. He fought with all his might but the recruit had pinned him to the ground and started to strangle him. He passed out from lack of oxygen.

Poškozená avoided South Carolina, leaving her for last. Next on his list was South Dakota. She and North Dakota had decided to stick together to increase the odds of their survival. Unfortunately, South was not paying attention. Her helmet turned off, thus not allowing her to alert the others that he was here. She didn't move, petrified by the fear gripping her. 'Is that North or Maine? Please don't be him!' South thought as she was hit by a pellet that froze her where she stood, the form gliding to her. A voice broke over her personal comm.

"I promise that everyone is alive and I am so sorry for this! I have to become part of this project or I will be punished on my home world for failing." He whispered as he glided away, after making sure she could no longer move. North hadn't noticed yet. His back was to his sister. Poškozená punched a nerve on his back causing him to pass out.

Maine and South Carolina were the only ones left. Maine figured out that he was next so he hid in a corner, managed to turn of the tracker in his helmet on, and waited. The boy, because that was what he was, walked by. Maine tackled him and was about to punch him when he noticed that the boy was holding something. That something exploded towards him and pinned him to the wall before zapping him into unconsciousness.

A beep from the speakers signaled the five minute mark, meaning that the kid was fast. South Carolina stood on top of a pillar, watching the boy make his way past. Carolina dropped down on top of the kid and knocked him out. The lights turned on and everyone was starting to wake up or be able to move.

"Wow. That kid has got talent. I managed to nick him with my blade but I don't know if the blade is still in him. It was poisoned." Connecticut said as the group of agents gathered to look at the kid.
"He did better than anyone I have ever seen." York said as he rubbed his neck.
"Please inform Agent Washington that he has been accepted into Project Freelancer." The Director's voice filtered down to them. York groaned.
"Great. Now we have to make sure that he is fine and haul his ass down to medical." York complained as him reached down to turn Washington onto his back. The floor had blood on it and the blade was pushed up to the hilt in the boy's left side.
"Hey, Connie. Is that the blade?"
"Holy shit! How is that kid still alive?! The blade pierced something vital and was poisoned!" Connie said. Maine picked the boy up and started to walk to medical as the rest of the group followed, wondering what hellhole that kid grew up in to still be alive with a knife in one of his major organs and still be able to fight. North took his helmet off.
"He said he was from the city of Smrt of the planet Vrah. That place is truly a hellhole that makes a prison planet look like heaven." North informed them. Connie gasped.
"I grew up hearing legends about that place but my parents would tell me that the legendary assassin planet no longer existed. I believed them." Connie said with some guilt.
"We all grew up hearing the horror stories of that planet but we were all deceived by the media and wanted to believe that it wasn't as bad as it really was." Florida comforted Connie.
"I guess we are going to be spoiling that kid?" York stated with a small laugh. Everyone nodded. They would spoil him in the ways that they knew how.

Maine placed Washington on a table and watched as the doctors started to get to work. One of the nurses had tried to usher him out but he refused to leave. Washington's heart had been pierced by the blade along with other organs. The doctor stitched up what he could and administered the antidote to the poison running through the kid's veins. They removed the helmet and the suit and placed the new agent into a comfortable hospital pair of pajamas. Maine and the Dakota twins sat next to him for the next two weeks that he was in a medically induced coma. Connie, Florida and Wyoming, and York and Carolina came to visit frequently. On the day that he was supposed to wake up, everyone was there. His eyes cracked open and he looked around at his surroundings.

"Hey, rookie. Great work you did there. Next time, let us know that you got stabbed in the heart." York stated with a glare at the kid. Poškozená stared at him like he had two heads.
"Look, I understand that you don't know how to cope with someone caring about you but you are a part of the family now and that means you will have to tell us when you get wounded or sick." Connie lectured. The kid's face was priceless. South coughed lightly and got the attention of the room.
"You are not going back to that hellhole. You made it to Project Freelancer and I promise that the punishments here are nothing like what your home offers. We protect each other's backs. That is what family does." South said in the gentlest voice she had ever spoke in. North nearly choked. The kid nodded slightly.
"Now, let us see about getting you out of this confounded area, old chap." Wyoming offered.
