Meeting Martha

As requested by MochaMouse. Hope this is to your satisfaction, my dear friend. I'm so sorry for the wait.

Anyways, Martha visits the camp, meets Alexander, practically adopts him, Alex is okay with it, and George is a big, jealous, baby. Enjoy.

George smiled as he saw her walk toward him. His beautiful wife. His everything.

She raced towards him, a smile on her lips and eyes suspiciously teary, "George."

Washington sighed and held her tightly, "Hi." He muttered.

They embraced for a few, long moments before Martha pulled away, a mischievous smile, "So...your right-hand man...can I meet him?"

George inwardly sighed but nods non the less, "Ah yes, Hamilton. Let's go see my son-, I mean right-hand man!"

Martha shot him a suspicious look as they make their way to one of the many tents. George opened the flap to reveal a young man, sitting in a chair leaning over some papers.

Martha looked the boy over. He looked young, 21 maybe 22 at most. He was short and his hair was tied back into a messy bun. He quickly stood up to bow, "Sir, I finished the papers."

Martha saw her husband smile fondly as he shook his head, "At ease soldier, and alright son. I'll look them over in a bit."

"Notcha son!" Came the expected response.

Martha smiled as her husband chuckled. She liked this boy.

Alexander seemed to notice the woman for the first time and stood up a bit straighter (even tho he ain't straight) "Who is-"

He's cut off  by the woman giving him a tight hug, "AWWWWWWWW, I SEE WHY YOU LOVE HIM SO MUCH GEORGE!" She says, ignoring the embarrassed blush her husband had at the statement, which Alexander rose an eyebrow at but otherwise ignored as the random woman still held him in a death grip of a hug, "Just look at his sweet little face!" She continued.

Alexander shot George a 'help me' look, "uh...sir? Who-? What-?" He stuttered which George smiled at,

"This is my wife, son." He whispered.

Alexander's mouth opened into a silent "oh" and he found himself hugging the woman back. The embrace reminded him very much of his own mother's.

"Hmmm, you're my mom now." He declared. Which the woman squealed happily at.

George meanwhile, threw his hands up dramatically, a look of pure offense on his face, "What the hell, Alexander!"

Alex just shrugged, "She's far less scary than you, sir."

George scoffed, "Uh-huh, wait till you see her angry."

"Yes well I've seen you angry and I truly can't believe there is anything more terrifying, old man."

Martha listened to the bickering with a smile on her face. She always wanted children, and so did George. They just never got lucky enough it seems.

She pulled away from the boy to see her, nearly pouting, husband. "My God, George, you're such a child." She whispered affectionately.

Alexander watched them with happy, yet tired eyes. Family. Is this what having a family felt like? It was...nice. Yeah, nice.

Martha smiled at Alexander, "I've heard so much about you."

Alex raised an eyebrow, "Like what?"

Martha's smile turned mischievous, "Well...I happen to know..."

"Martha!" Now that, that was a literal whine. Alex bit back a chuckle. It was strange, this oddly childish side of his father figure, but he liked it.

"George!" She mocked. Glaring at him.

He sighed and just flopped in a nearby chair. Way too tired for this shit.

"Like I was saying..." she returned her gaze to Alexander, "I happen to that you're his favorite in the entire camp. Seriously, he never shuts up about you in his letters."

Alex smiled and looked over at the half-asleep George. His heart warmed, the man looked so vulnerable right now. "Love you, Pops!"

"Mhmm...love you too, son."

Alex rolled his eyes but didn't comment on the 'son' part. Martha smiled at the two of them before pulling away from the young boy and sitting next to her husband, who laid his head on her shoulder.

He leaned over to kiss her cheek before mumbling softly, "How long are you staying?"

"Only a few hours, my love."

"Oh."

Alexander's heart snapped a little bit at that. George sounded so genuinely upset, it made Alex sad for a reason he couldn't quite place.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, ma'am. I must be going now." He wanted to give the two their time.

Martha nodded, stepping away from her husband to embrace the boy once more, whispering in his ear, "You take care of him, alright?"

Alex nodded, "Of course."

It was a promise.

Martha smiled, "And when this whole war thing is done, come up to Virginia some time for dinner. We'd love to have you."

George hummed softly in agreement. Alex smiled. "Yeah, okay. I will."

He watched as the couple left, George shooting him a grateful look over his shoulder, "I'll check those papers later, Alexander." Alex nodded in response.

Later on, as Martha left, he stood by his father's side, who had an arm wrapped around his shoulder.

The older man sighed, "Never fall in love, my boy."

Alex chuckled. "Don't plan on it, sir."

Alexander looked up at the man and saw his eyes practically glowing in the darkness. The warm feeling rose in him again.

And with that came a realization, He had a family.

He had a family.

I started writing this like 2 months ago or whatever. Like, as soon as Mocha requested it, and then forgot about it so, sorry about that-

Anyways, hope you enjoyed it. Leave a request even if it takes me forever. Love you all so much. Have a wonderful day.
