You're the Half Angel

Behind me stood Lucas. He looks at me a little shocked. I quickly withdraw my claws.

"I already saw... so you're the half demon half human I've been looking for..." he says.

"And you're the half angel half human I've been looking for..." I say.

True, our parents could have arranged us to meet, but for some reason they wanted us to find each other.

We stare at each other and the others arrive.

(I can't believe he was next to me all this time!)

"Kat!? Lucas!?" Johnny yells limping up. "Are you okay!?"

"Why are you here?" I ask nervously still staring at Lucas. (I can't believe this!)

"We heard a loud noise and came running," Jason says.

"E-everyone?" I say and peel my eyes away from Lucas to all the others standing there.

Jason walks up to the fallen over tree -well with the eye he can see out of- and examines it tracing his fingers over the claw marks.

"Kat?" Jason says causing me to jump.

(He couldn't of figured out it was me!) "Y-yes..."

"Are you okay? What happened?" Jason asks.

"I-I'm fine... and umm..." I stutter. (Shit!)

"What happened!?" Shane yells trying to force it out of me.

"I was nearby and I rushed over to see what happened." (That was a huge lie...) I make eye contact with Lucas then quickly look away. (Don't look at me like that, jackass.)

"It looks like that thing is getting closer to us," Jason says.

"Bro, these claw marks are different then the ones we saw," Tyler says walking up.

"We need to make weapons!" Tony shouts nervously. Everyone starts to talk in a panic.

"No!" I yell almost demonish sounding. Everyone shuts up and looks at me wide eyed.

"What!? Why!?" everyone yells except Lucas.

"You heard me, I said no, we aren't making weapons."

"Why!?" Shane yells.

"I'm not explaining myself to you. I have my reasons and if anyone makes more weapons you will all surely regret it." I say with the last few words with a slight demon voice.

I walk through them back towards the camp. I feel Lucas' gaze on me as I go. (I can't believe he's the half angel. We are gonna have a nice long chat later.)

Everyone silently follows behind me with heads low. They all sit down on the logs; everyone has chosen their specific spot. Like how you choose your spot at lunch in school.

I walk up to Jason and examine his face. I really did a number on his face. The whole right side of his face is swollen and he can't even see out of his eye.

"Sorry, I smacked you..."

"Sorry, I did what I did..."

I reach up for his face and cup his swollen cheek. He winces a little.

"I smacked you too hard." Everyone looks at our exchange wide eyed.

"Yeah, I can't even see out of it," Jason says. "You have some kinda strength."

"I can't believe you remained standing."

"Yeah... wait what!?"

"N-nothing!" I move my thumb across his cheek. Again he winces from the movement. (My healing power can fix this.) I feel my power surge through me to my hand into his cheek. His face becomes unswollen and I drop my hand.

Jason reaches up and touches his face not believing that he can see. His eyes grow wide. "H-how!? W-what did you!?" Jason says nervously.

I turn around and walk into the forest. "Be back later." I leave everyone's freaked out expressions behind.

The sun is starting to set and I walk to the top of the small mountain on top the giant boulder by the edge. I heave a big and long sigh. "Shit... what do I do now?" I sense someone behind me and I turn around. I surprise the person and they jump a little.

"Uh, uhh..." Tony says. "Hi..."

"Hi."

"H-how did you heal my brother like that?"

"I, umm... had a healing paste on my hand."

"He said that it felt like energy was surfing through him."

"That's the feeling it gives. It's supposed to feel all tingly."

He looks at me blankly. "Oh... That's cool..."

"Why are you alone?" I ask.

"Ah! S-sorry! I-I!"

"Well you have a buddy now. Let's go back to the camp."

"Oh, okay!" he says happily and grabs my hand. We skip all the way back to the camp. While we skip I spot a certain plant and grab it when we pass by. Nobody needs to be scared of me especially now.

...

When I arrive back at the camp everyone's eyes fix on me. It's completely silent and Zack breaks it.

"H-how?"

"She had a healing paste on her hand that healed it!" Tony exclaims.

"That doesn't explain the energy feeling though," Jason says.

Tony was about to speak for me again, but I cut him off. "What are you all scared of me for? I just rubbed a special paste on my hand to reduce the swelling in my hand." (Lie.) "When I put my hand on your cheek it helped you too. The energy feeling wasn't energy it was a tingling feeling, that must be what you felt." I shake my head. "Energy," I scoff. "What the hell?"

"Then why did you walk off after and not tell us how you did that?" Johnny asks suspiciously.

"I didn't think it mattered. And I went out to get cilantro for dinner."

"Oh..." they say.

"What did you think I had some kinda powers?" They look at each other quietly. I glare at Lucas, he gives me a look saying 'I swear I didn't say anything.' "Wow, seriously guys? Wow, you guys watch way too much TV." I laugh. "You know there's no such thing." They all begin laughing and I breathe a sigh of relief. (They bought the whole lie... Thank, God.) Lucas just stares at me. (Don't look at me like that you have a secret too!) "Now go get the fish and hurry before it gets too dark."

"Haha, okay, okay," Jason says. "Let's go, Trio!" The brothers leave towards the beach.

I walk over to the fire while everyone talks. (Shit, the fire went out.) I look around to make sure nobody's watching. Nobody's watching but if they notice I'll act like I found the fire and burned myself. I put my hand in the pit and act like I'm moving leaves around. I light the end of my finger up like a lighter and light up the fire. "Oww..." Nobody looks at me but Lucas. I glare at him. "Can somebody go out and get some twigs and leaves for the fire?"

"We'll get the twigs," Johnny says slowly standing up.

"I'll get the leaves," Erwin says.

They all walk off and me, Lucas, and Shane are left. I walk over to them.

"A lot has happened today hasn't it?" Lucas says knowingly.

"It's like we went to hell and back," Shane says. "It was hot and full of drama." Lucas and I tense up a little hearing that phrase and look at each other.

(Hell isn't as hot as humans make it. It's just like up here same weather and everything.) "Haha, yeah." (That phrase just might come true.)

Everyone returns, I cook dinner, we eat, and we head off to bed. I glance at Lucas and notice he's looking too. (I still can't believe he's the half angel...)

"Goodnight," everyone says to each other and walk into their huts.

Once inside my hut I sit on the floor in the middle. I release my claws and look at them. "You were almost seen by humans... I'm so stupid! I need to get out of here..." I open my door and peek out making sure no one is looking. I walk out and head up to the mountain.

...

At the top of the mountain I sit on top of the boulder. I lay back onto my back and look at all the stars. (It's so pretty... and peaceful... There are so many stars. I never see this many back at home. This is so relaxing and- I'm not alone.) "Come out, I know you're there." It has a demon aura... The demon jumps out from his hiding place and charges at me to attack. I release my claws and throw my arms out lighting up my fire. The fire flows from my wrists and ankles that travel up my arms and legs. "You really think that you, a common demon, can defeat me?"

"I won't go down so easily," he says.

"Well let's hope because I'm really charged up today and I really wanted something to smack around a bit."

He starts attacking me by throwing shards of ice at me. I dodge them with little to no effort. He starts up a blizzard and completely surrounds the mountain. "No where to run now, Princess."

"Who said I was gonna run?" I run at him and slice his chest.

"Arghh!" he yells painfully as he cringes, doubling over, and holding his chest.

I kick him backwards and hold his chest down with my foot; the blizzard subsides. I raise my claws to his neck barely touching him. "Why are you here? Who sent you?" I yell.

"I... was sent... by your... faaa... faaather... His Majesty... to test your... strength..."

"F-father?" I say confused. I heal him a little but just enough to make him breathe better.

"That's why I am here. You passed his little surprise test."

"Well you tell him that I said to stop. I'm in a little trouble right now and I don't want anyone getting hurt. I have humans with me and you know what has to happen if they see us," I say with a stern demon voice.

"Y-yes, Princess..." he says and bows. I completely heal him and he returns to hell to report to my father.

"Arghh! Really!?" I yell and my fire grows. "Breathe... Breathe..." I withdraw my claws and my fire dimenishes. I sit back on the boulder and lay down again. I look up once again at the beautiful, starry sky. (Why did father do that?) Once again my senses pick something up. "Come out!" I turn around and am met face to face with Lucas.

"Your power is incredible," he says.

I laugh. "That was hardly power."

He comes and sits beside me. "I still can't believe your the halfie."

"Same goes for you."

"Now everything that you did makes sense," he says.

"It makes sense how you can sneak up to me," I say. "How do you do it?"

"I can switch off my presence, but apparently it doesn't fully hide myself from you. I'm guessing you can do the same?"

"Yeah, I can."

"Does your mother know she's the special blood?" he asks.

"No, you?"

"I don't know my real father has never told me about her. You know, since I'm adopted by normal human parents."

"Do you ever get to see His Majesty?" I ask.

"I don't really ever get to. I can never really get away from my adopted family."

"How have you trained?" I ask.

"I trained a lot, but not enough to match your level..."

"You are the strongest angel but you're not? You should train more."

"I can't. There's no place I'm able to without being caught."

"... I can train you..." I whisper.

"What?"

"I... can train you."

"You will?"

"I'd love to!" I shout and jump up. "Tomorrow night!"

"It's a deal!" he says excitedly.

"We need to get lots of rest though," I say. "We should return to the camp."

"Yeah," he says.

We stand up and walk back to the camp. I have this feeling someone's watching me. No body's here but me and Lucas though... "Do you feel like you're being watched?"

"Yeah, I do," Lucas says. "We should hurry to the camp."

"Yeah." I look around trying to see anyone, but nothing shows. We sneak back into the camp and go to our huts. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Princess," he says with a smirk.

"Goodnight, useless Prince," I say and stick out my tongue. We laugh and give each other one last glance before we walk into out huts. (I still can't believe he's the halfie. I've been looking for him forever.)
