Apology Breakfast

Just pointing out that the fish are way bigger than the above fish. This was the best image I could find of burnt fish. By the way the fish don't have their heads and tails on. When they clean and cut them they look like how you buy them at the store. Also the fish in the story are way more burnt then the above. Just wanted you to know. :)

I wake up to a lot of yelling coming from outside. No one is hugging me this morning? I sit up and don't see Lucas or Shane. I stand up and peek through the door to see what all the fuss is about. I see everyone, except the Duo and Erwin, yelling at each other around the fire and something really stinks too...

"It's all your fault!" Shane yells.

"How is it my fault? It was Lucas' fault he was making it," Tony yells.

"You were told to flip it!" Shane yells at Tony.

"It was Lucas' fault, he shouldn't have had Tony to do it," Tyler says.

"What's that supposed to mean!?" Tony fusses.

"How is it my fault? How was I supposed to know Tony isn't capable to flip fish over!" Lucas yells.

"You were the one cooking the fish! Why didn't you do it?" Jason asks.

"I was going to get some water!" Lucas yells.

"Well you could've told Tony to go do that!" Jason yells.

The Duo and Erwin walk out with Johnny limping.

"Damn you guys are loud," Johnny says. "Where's Kat?"

"Still sleeping," Shane says with a red face.

(He so must've been hugging my legs again. He must've finally realized he's been doing it. Hehe.)

"How is she not up with all the yelling?" Erwin asks to no one inparticular.

"S-she's a really sound sleeper..." Shane says embarrassed.

"Y-yeah..." Lucas says with his face red too.

"Anyway, what's with all the yelling?" Zack asks.

(No Zack!)

Everyone starts yelling again. The Duo and Erwin don't get involved and sit down on a log. Zack sighs.

"I can't believe you can't flip a fish! Lucas yells.

"It's not that he can't flip a fish it's just that he forgets to do things," Jason says.

"Dammit! Well since he's so forgetful we don't have any breakfast this morning!" Shane yells.

"Well I'm sorry that he was the only one around while everyone took a bath," Lucas says annoyed.

"This is why we should've waited until Kat woke up!" Jason yells.

"What if I was trying to make breakfast for her because she always makes it for us!" Lucas yells.

Everyone goes silent and everyone stares at him.

"Now I see," Shane says and grins evilly.

I take the silence as an opportunity to make my entrance. I head out like I just woke up. I open the door and stretch my arms up and yawn.

"Good morning," I say tiredly.

Everyone rushes to stand in front of the fire so I won't see.

Lucas doesn't look at me and says, "Y-yeah... Good morning... Did you-?"

"Hear all the yelling? Yes, I did. I've been watching for the past like 10 minutes," I say. Everyone looks down. "I'm guessing you burnt the fish to a crisp? Don't worry, I'll make something with the fruit."

"But-" Jason starts but I interrupt.

"What's past is the past, now everyone go get me some fruit," I say.

They all head off to the grove, helping Johnny along the way.

I walk over to the fire and the fish is completely burnt. I poke it with a nearby stick. It's so burnt it's embedded into the stone. I grab the burning, hot rock with my bare hands.

(That feels really good... I love the feeling!)

I walk the stove a little ways from the fire. (I'll let it cool off and have one of the boys clean it off.) I look at my hands and notice my skin turned pink. Some of the heat from the stone was absorbed through my hands. Hopefully the guys won't see this.

The guys return with armfuls of fruit. They set the fruit down by the tree stump. I hide my hands behind my back and walk up to them.

"Here you go," Tony says happily.

"Thank you! I've decided I'll make fruit salad for all of us," I say.

"Why are you hiding your hands?" Tony asks.

"I'm not," I say.

"What did you do?" Tyler asks.

"Nothing!" I yell.

"Now we know you did something," Johnny says.

(How can he see right through me!? A normal human!)

Lucas forcibly grabs my hands and I try to pull them back, but he grips harder. I would easily pull away but in the process I would probably make him fall on his face.

"No!" I yell.

"Why are your hands red?" Lucas asks worriedly.

"Nothing to worry about, it's just from the stone," I say.

"That's something to worry about!" he yells.

I looked up at Lucas and shake my head. "It's okay." I get free of his grasp and begin dicing up the fruit. Nobody says anything while we eat.

Nobody speaks to each other at all, but we already know what to do and begin making more huts. We get three more huts up by a really late lunch, which is all we're doing for today. The sun will probably set in about 4 hours, that's how late it became.

The Trio and Zack head to the beach to get some fish. Lucas, Shane, Erwin, and I head to the grove with cocobowls to get water.

I glance over at Lucas and then quickly look away. He looks towards me and looks away too. This continues back and forth with an atmosphere full of awkwardness.

(No one is talking to each other because of our little fight. I can't help but feel bad, everyone is affected by this, over something so... so stupid.)

I sigh. "Lucas come here and look at my hands. They're completely back to normal."

Lucas walks over. "Good," he mumbles. After a few moments of him standing there, he speaks again. "Sorry... About everything." He begins to walk away and I grab his arm causing me to knock over a few cocobowls of water. He looks back at me.

I pull down on his arm so he's kneeling next to me. "Thanks for caring and for attempting to make an apology breakfast." I make sure that Shane and Erwin aren't looking and peck Lucas on the cheek. His face turns red and I let him leave. I smile to myself and refill the cocobowls.

Back at the camp the fish were cut up and ready to be cooked. We have eight fish.

"Erwin, can you take the stone and wash it off at the lagoon? It should be cool enough not to burn you," I say.

"Sure," Erwin says and attempts to lift up the stone. I telekenetically lift the stone enough for him to handle it himself. He lifts it up and slowly walks towards the lagoon.

"That guy really needs a workout," Shane says. Everyone nods their head in agreement.

"So, I guess I'll go get some vegetables," I say. "Anybody wanna help?"

"I'll go," both Lucas and Jason say.

"Can you guys cut up the leftover fruit from this morning?" I ask looking at Tyler, Zack, and Tony. They nod their heads. I smile and walk into the forest with Jason and Lucas behind.

"Where are the vegetables?" Jason asks.

"Somewhere back here," I say following the scent.

We arrive at the place with all the vegetables and grab enough for all of us. Then we return to the camp.

Back at the camp I put the fish on the grill. "I have to teach you guys how to cook in case, I-I don't make it..." I say sadly.

(Of course I won't die. I can't die. I'm just doing this all to motivate them a little. I don't even need to eat to be honest.)

Everyone looks at me with shocked expressions.

"Don't talk like that," Lucas says angrily.

"I'm not gonna argue with anyone about this. It's a possibility that I might die. If I go, what will happen to you? I have to do this," I say. Everyone looks at me with a serious expression. "The co-leader will be the first to learn, now come here. I'll teach you." Lucas stands up and walks over to me and everyone looks at him confused. "Sorry, I forgot to tell you all that, Lucas, is the co-leader."

I begin showing him how to cook the first four fish on the grill.

"When do you know to flip it?" he asks.

"After about 5 minutes and continuously do it. Check the inside of it to make sure it's cooked." We finish the first four. "Now you do the next four and I'll be back in a minute." I walk over to Johnny. "Have you put any ointment on your wound today?"

"No," Johnny says sheepishly.

"That's what I thought," I say and walk over to grab the ointment. "Stick out your leg." He does as told and leans back onto his hands. "This should feel good. It shouldn't hurt."

"Alright," Johnny says. I begin to rub the ointment on his wound while using my healing powers. "Oww!"

"You okay!?" I shout. (My powers didn't hurt him did they!? They shouldn't!)

"Nah, nothing, just messing with you," Johnny snickers.

I smack him on the head, lightly. "Don't do that!"

"Oww... Sorry, remind me to never mess with you..." Johnny says rubbing his head.

The fish finishes cooking and everyone was weary of Lucas' fish.

I cut a piece of his fish and inspect it. "It's fully cooked." I place it in my mouth. Mmmm. "It's good!" I cut the fish I ate off of in half and into my own cocobowl. I give the other half to Shane. "Everyone else can have a whole fish."

"Why don't I get a whole fish!?" Shane complains.

"Because I know you won't eat it," I say. "You never ate your food on the boat because you were being a spoiled brat." He pouts and everyone laughs.

By the time everyone finishes the sky starts to dim.

"I guess we need to split up for the shelters," Erwin says.

"That's right..." Tony says.

"Shane with Lucas, Duo, and Jason with Tony together. Everyone else by themselves. Does that work?" I ask.

"Well no, because I don't get to stay with you," Jason says.

"Yeah, me too," Johnny says.

"Haha, very funny," I say sarcastically. "Just go to sleep."

Everyone laughs and heads off into their separate huts.
