Was it Worth it?

The girl was panting. Even though she hadn't been running. No, she was panicking. For what reason. She didn't know.

The wicked grin on the ghost's face was sharp, their eyes glowed as they felt power. What they felt every single time they had done this.

The girl with the warm colored hair suddenly felt empty. She was alone. She felt worthless. She hadn't kept her friends alive so she couldn't be either right?

No emotions, no pain. Emptiness, for her. More happiness, more feelings. Giddiness, for them.

She looked down, eyeballing height to see if it was enough. She knew it was enough, but she wanted to make sure. It had to be done. She thought that everyone knew it, she really didn't know. I guess that's too late now isn't it. She jumped.

The air blew her wings up in the air while she turned on her back so she wouldn't see. Rendering her wings numb and useless, just like herself.

They could only see the fiery colors in a blur before they could realize the damage they'd done. They were too late to realize the damage while she was too late to realize the truth. It was all too late. Done. Her vision turned black and she was done.

They stared, shocked. It was something it never felt about a person before. They watched as the girl disappeared and all the was left were the red, orange, and yellow feathers of her wings. She loved to fly and she had something special that she loved to do. She no longer could, and it was their fault. Their fault.

Everything was blurring. Their chest was tightening, a pounding they've felt before. They couldn't recognize it, but it was there. Only because of this girl. The one she never got along with. Their fault.

The girl felt sad and guilty. About her friends, something that wasn't in her control. It was all their fault.

What is she supposed to do now? Her job was done.

Done.
