Hae-Ri (Chapter 10)
After attending the "Wedding Ceremony", Ms.Mo took us to the food stalls for lunch. There were a variety of traditional Korean food and snacks like Bibimbap, Bungeoppang and Hottoek. After the much hurried lunch break, we were allowed to go around and take pictures with the different props, architectures, etc.
Some of the girls asked me if I wanted to join them, and I agreed. Maybe Jessica was right, this could be an opportunity for me to mingle with new people. We took photos inside the Hanoks and near the food stalls. It was especially entertaining to take pictures with Eun-Woo and Je-Ra, as they were still wearing their Hanboks. Everyone agreed that they made a cute couple, and many even tried convincing Eun-Woo to ask her out!
Later in the afternoon, we attended a crafts workshop, where we learnt various types of calligraphy and oriental knot-making. There were even some jute products that were on sale, and I bought a pretty handbag for Omma. In the evening, many stalls were put up; like Tea stalls, Artisan stalls and street-food stalls. Many of us visited some Cultural experience stalls, where we learnt the art of Lantern-making.
After an hour or so, Ms.Mo said it was time to head back to University. She lead the way to our bus, but I remembered that I had left my water bottle at the Lantern-making stall.
"Just give me a couple of minutes, Ms.Mo, you can head back, I'll catch up," I requested.
"Mm, fine, just don't lose your way, arrasseo?" she gave in. (Okay?)
"Nae, gamsahamnida seonsaengnim!" I thanked and ran back, looking like a duck. (Yes, thank you ma'am!)
When I returned to the bus, everyone was already seated. Only one seat was vacant, and it was next to the guy with the black mask.
"Jogiyo, can I sit here, please?" I asked him. Some of the popular girls sneered, hearing me. (Excuse me)
"Keurae," he said without looking up. (Sure)
I casually sat down, and kept my brown backpack on my lap, taking out my phone and earphones. I looked at Mr.Black Mask, as he took out a book from his bag. I didn't know why, but this guy seemed very familiar. Just as I was trying to recall, he took off his mask. Suddenly, I knew who he was! Of course, why hadn't I thought before? It seemed so obvious!
"Yah, aren't you the guy from the convenience store?" I said, grinning foolishly. (Hey)
He finally turned my way, and to my surprise, even smiled.
" Jamshiman, you're the girl who spilled the Gochujang, aren't you? I thought you seemed familiar, now I know why!" he giggled. (Wait a second)
My smile immediately dropped, and embarrassment took over. Afraid that he would ask me more questions related to the "Gochujang incident", I handed him one of my earphones.
"Wanna listen to some music?" I asked, but it was more like an order.
"Eoh, kueraeyo. Komawo," he said, plugging it into his right ear. I was surprised my his sudden informality. (Oh, sure. Thanks.)
I pressed "play" without even checking what song it was. It turned out to be "Keep me busy" by Punch. It was from one of the top trending KDramas.

I blushed scarlet, and lowered my head. I had not meant to give this type of an impression. He must think I'm an absolute simp, I thought. I was just about to change the song, when he said-
"Punch joha?" he asked. (Do you like Punch?)
"Uhm, yeah. Joha. I really like singing, so I look up to her. Her voice is angelic," I stuttered. (I like her)
"Wow, that's great. I play guitar, maybe we can do a collab sometime, if you want," he suggested.
Was this a dream? I'd always wanted to collaborate with a male guitarist, and yes, I had Min-Jae for that, but he wanted to be a solo performer.
"Ye! That's a great idea!" I beamed, forgetting my shyness. (Yes!)
"So, you're my junior. Who would've thought? Gochujang girl is actually a brilliant singer!" he teased.
"Arasseo, arasseo. I'm clumsy, but I apologised multiple times. Can you forgive me, please?" I requested. (Alright, alright)
"Hey, I was just kidding. Mianhae, I'll stop," he said, getting anxious.
"No need to be sorry, I didn't take it that seriously. It's just that I get embarrassed really easily, so I tend to get a bit hyped up, you know?" I tried to explain.
"That's understandable," he acknowledged
-awkward silence-
30 mins and a few more conversations later, we reached the University.
"It was nice talking to you," he said.
"Mm, Na do. You seem like a nice person," I complemented. (Me too)
"Can I add you on KakaoTalk?" he asked casually.
"Eoh, keuraeyo," I said, giving him my phone number. (Oh, sure)
He nodded, "I'll text you later,".
"See ya!" I said, and made my way towards Jessica and my room.
I could feel the glares of multiple girls run through my skin. I could understand why Hae-Jun -Mr.Black Mask - wanted to keep a low profile.
