Unleashed

I laughed as an annoyed Isaac came and stood by me.

"This is bullshit" he muttered.

"Ah come on, it's just a bit of running" I grinned.

"Pace yourselves!" Coach shouted as everyone set off. "Come on!"

"Come on, Lahey" I called out to Isaac turning around to shoot him a teasing smile.

"I hate you so much" he mumbled.

I laughed and sprinted off, zipping through the trees. Once I was pretty much out of sight, I stopped to catch my breath.

Someone wrapped their arms around my waist and I smiled, realising it was Isaac. "Boo" he whispered in my ear.

I turned around with a giggle.

"Wow, I'm surprised you actually managed to catch up with me" I smirked.

"I think you underestimate my abilities" he said, pulling me closer towards him.

"Oh, is that so" I said, a teasing smile playing at my lips. "Well, how about a little race"

"What a great idea. I'll even give you a head start" he said with a smug smile.

"You sure you're not the one that needs the head start?"

"We'll see" he released his hands from my waist.

"I'll meet you by that tree over there. Prepare to lose" I shot him a wink and took off sprinting.

I could hear Isaac's footsteps getting closer behind me so I pushed on further.

Once I reached the tree, I stopped catching my breath.

I laughed to myself. "Looks like I beat you Lahey"

"You sure about that?" I turned around to see Isaac appearing from behind the tree.

"How the hell did you-?"

"Told you not to underestimate me" he grinned.

I shook my head as I leant my back against the tree.

I heard footsteps again and stepped forwards to see Scott running up the trail.

"Wondered where you'd got to" he said.

I laughed but it cut short when I spotted the twins.

Isaac started to growl.

"Isaac" I warned.

"It's them" he said through gritted teeth before taking off after them.

"Isaac, wait!" Scott and I yelled, running after him.

"Isaac!" I shouted, rounding a corner to see the twins holding my boyfriend so he couldn't move.

"Ethan, I always forget, how many bones in the human body?"

"I don't know" Ethan replied with a laugh. "Let's count"

I jumped forwards punching Ethan straight in the face.

"That's one, bitch"

Isaac jumped up and Ethan set his jaw back into place.

All four of us growled and prepared for a fight until a scream cut us off.

Scott, Isaac and I immediately sprinted off in the direction it came from.

We stopped by Stiles and my mouth dropped open in shock.

A man was tied up against a tree, his injuries showing the wounds of the threefold death.

"Hey, get out of the way. Get back" I heard sheriff Stilinski yell to the big group of people.

"Get this area cordoned off before they trample every piece of evidence" The Sheriff instructed.

"Back up! Everyone back!" Another officer yelled.

"Get these kids out of here!" The sheriff instructed.

The group of horrified people started to disperse but Isaac, Scott, Stiles and I stayed put.

"Dad, just come here. Look, look. Look at it. It's the same as the others, you see?" Stiles said.

"Yeah, I see that. Do me a favor.
Go back to school, yeah?" Sheriff Stilinski replied. "Coach, can you give us a hand here?"

"You heard the man. Nothing to see here. Probably just some homeless kid" Coach yelled, waving everyone away.

"Coach" Scott said.

"Yeah?"

"He was a senior"

"Oh. He wasn't on the team, was he?"

"Kyle! Oh, God, Kyle! Oh, God!" A blond girl shouted, running over.

"Go on. Go. Go" the Sheriff shouted.

The four us moved away and started walking away from the scene.

"You see the way the twins looked at him?" Isaac said.

"Yeah, you mean like they had no idea what happened?" I asked.

"No, no, they knew"

"The kid was strangled with a garrote, all right? Am I the only one recognising the lack of werewolfitude in these murders?" Stiles said.

"Oh, you think it's a coincidence they turn up and then people start dying?" Isaac raised his eyebrows.

"Well, no, but I still don't think it's them" I said.

"Scott? How about you?" Isaac asked.

"I don't know yet"

I rolled my eyes. "You don't know yet?"

"Well, he's got a point" Scott looked towards Isaac. "Seriously, guys, human sacrifices?"

"Scott, your eyes turn into yellow glow sticks, okay? Hair literally grows from your cheeks and then will immediately disappear, and if I were to stab you right now, it would just magically heal, but you're telling me that you're having trouble grasping human sacrifices?" Stiles said.

Scott let out a long sigh. "That's a good point too"

"I don't care. They killed that kid, they killed the girl that saved me" Isaac looked back at the twins. "I'm gonna kill them too"

"All right, since inertia is a subject of which you all know plenty, why don't we start with "momentum"?" Harris droned on.

"They're here for a reason. Give me a chance to figure it out before you do anything. Okay?" Scott whispered to Isaac, who was obviously internally screaming with anger.

"Isaac" I hissed.

"Danny, what do we know about momentum?" Harris asked.

"It's the product of mass and velocity.
The more massive something is, the faster it's going"

"Mr. Harris, can I use the bathroom, please?" Isaac asked, standing up.

Harris moved his hand in the direction of the door and he rushed out of the classroom.

Scott and I both simultaneously jumped up. "I have to go to the bathroom too"

"One at a time" Harris said.

"But I really have to go. Like, medical emergency have to go" Scott begged.

"Mr. McCall, if your bladder suddenly exploded and urine began to pour from every orifice, I would still respond, 'one at a time.' Is that enough hyperbole for you, or would you like me to come up with something more vivid?" Harris said, sarcasm evident in his tone of voice.

"No. No. That's pretty good" Scott sat back down.

I, however, didn't give up.

"Sir, I really need to go to the toilet"

"Sit down Miss Hale"

I lowered my voice. "Are you really going to make me embarrass myself in front of everyone"

"Sit down"

"I'm on my period sir, I really need to go to the bathroom"

"I don't care. Sit dow-"

"The literal Niagara falls of blood is pouring out of me. Is that enough hyperbole for you or do you need me to come up with something more vivid?" I crossed my arms over my chest, a smug smile tugging at the corners of my mouth.

Harris pulled a face of disgust. "Just go"

I smiled to myself as I left the classroom.

My grin turned into a frown when I noticed one of the twins beating the other up.

I walked up to Isaac.

"What are they doing?" I asked.

"I have no idea"

One of the twins slid the other over to Isaac and I just as Harris burst out of the classroom, followed by all the students.

"What is this? What's going on?" Harris demanded.

I looked over to see that Aiden had disappeared.

Son of a bitch.

"You all right?" Danny asked, helping Ethan up.

"Uh, he just-he just came at me"

"Isaac, what the hell did you do?" Harris snapped.

"I didn't-"

"Detention!"

Once everyone started to leave and Ethan was up on his feet again, I walked over to him and pushed him backwards.

"What the hell is your problem!"

"Careful sweetheart, don't wanna land yourself in detention with your boyfriend" He taunted.

I swung my fist up and it connected with his face.

He stumbled backwards, holding his bloody nose.

"That's enough, Miss Hale!" I heard Harris yell.

I felt someone tug me backwards.

It was Scott.

"What the hell are you playing at?"

I shook my head, anger coursing through my body.

"You're both as bad as each other!" Ethan called out to me.

I turned around to face him, flipping him off.

"Douchebag" I muttered.

The bell rang, signalling the end of class and everyone disappeared back inside the classroom to gather their things.

"Lahey! Hale! You've both landed yourself in Lunchtime detention" Harris informed, heading back into his classroom.

Scott went into class to grab my things as I was too busy trying not to shift in front of everybody.

"I can't believe you punched him" Scott said with a sigh as we walked to our lockers.

Isaac wrapped his arm around my waist. "That's my girl" he grinned.

Scott shook his head with a smile and I laughed as we continued down the hall.

My smile faltered when I noticed Aiden stood by Lydia.

"Don't let it bother you. It's just lunchtime detention. If all they want right now is to piss you off, then don't give in. They're just trying to get to you" Scott said to Isaac and I as we stood by our lockers.

Isaac looked over to where Lydia was stood. "It's not just me"

"What about tonight?" Aiden asked.

"Nope. Studying" she answered.

"I could help you" he continued.

"Do you have an IQ higher than 170?"

"Okay. You could help me"

Lydia smiled. "Tonight then?"

I clenched my fists.

"What?" I heard Scott ask Isaac.

"Now they're getting to you" he replied.

"I'm going to kill them" I growled, watching the twin shoot Lydia a flirty smile. "They're the ones killing people. Screw 'human sacrifices' it's them. And I'm going to kill them. I'm gonna break all of their bones one by one and then rip their heads off" I said through gritted teeth.

"They want this. They want you to feel like this. We can't give in, okay" Scott said.

I shook my head. "Maybe I could set them on fire instead. I can't decide which one would be more satisfying to watch"

"Neither of them, okay? Just ignore them" Scott slammed his locker shut and left Isaac and I alone.

"Personally, I think we should set one of them on fire and let the other watch. Then we can rip the other one's limbs off one by one" Isaac smirked.

I smiled. "Did I ever tell you how much I love you?"

"Only all the time. But don't hold back from saying it again"

I laughed and took Isaac's hand in mine as we walked down the hall to our next class.

~

"The two of you will wash all the boards in this hall" Harris said to two students at the front of the room. He then turned to a few more. "Reshelving the library" and then he looked at me, Isaac and Allison. "Restocking the janitor's closet"

I smiled at Allison whereas Isaac jumped up to speak to Mr Harris.

"Oh, Mr. Harris? Um Does it have to be with her?" He asked quietly, indicating to Allison.

"Now that I know you prefer not to. Yes. You have to be with her"

Isaac turned around to face us. "Great"

"Come on, let's go" I stood up and Allison and I walked ahead of Isaac.

"So what did you do to land yourself in detention?" I asked her.

"I fell asleep in French"

I laughed. "Is that it?"

She nodded with a small smile. "What did you do then?"

"Punched one of the twins" I shrugged.

"Why?"

"Because they're assholes"

I opened up the door to the janitors closet and the three of us started to get to work.

I heard Isaac's heartbeat start to increase and grabbed his hand.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm just not a big fan of small spaces" he offered a weak smile.

"Can I ask you a question?" Allison blurted.

"Do you have to?" Isaac asked with a sigh.

"I guess not. I'm gonna ask anyway"

I chuckled.

"Did either of you tell anyone that I was at school the other night?"

"Wait. You were at school too?" I asked.

Allison turned to look at Isaac. "You didn't tell her?"

"I didn't tell anyone. Was I supposed to?" Isaac said.

"It would make me really happy if you didn't. And you too Shay, now that you know" She said.

"Yeah, well you being happy really isn't a big priority of mine, since you stabbed me. Twenty times. With knives" Isaac mumbled.

"They were actually Chinese ring daggers, but-"

"Oh"

"Sorry" Ally said.

"Was that-was that an apology?" Isaac asked in disbelief.

"Would you accept an apology?"

"Aw look you're finally getting along" I said with a smile.

Isaac rolled his eyes.

Allison and I exchanged looks and both laughed.

"So what were you doing at the school. I thought you and your dad had this new code where you wouldn't get involved with supernatural creatures"

She shrugged. "I thought that too"

There was a loud slam and we all turned around to see the door shut.

Isaac was the first over, trying to push it open.

"Maybe it locked from the outside" Allison said.

"No, there's something against it" I could hear the panic in Isaac's voice and also the increase in his heartbeat.

"Okay, okay, okay. Okay, uh, all right.
Just relax" I reached out to touch his arm but he pushed me away.

"No"

"Isaac, relax. Isaac!"

"Come on. Come on" he pounded his fists at the door.

"Isaac?" Allison questioned.

"Come on!" He yelled.

"Isaac. Isaac! Okay, Isaac, just relax" I said calmly. "Isaac!"

"Come on!" He started to shift and unfortunately Allison got in the way.

"No! Don't" she cried out.

"Isaac!" I yelled, trying to stand between him and Allison. "Isaac stop!"

His claws slashed my shirt and I could feel blood seeping from the wound.

The door suddenly opened and Isaac came tumbling out onto the floor.

"Isaac! Isaac!" Scott shouted as Isaac continued to snap and growl. "Isaac!" Scott's voice boomed throughout the corridor.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked Allison.

"I'm okay. Are you?"

"Yeah, I'll heal"

"Allison" Scott said.

"I'm okay. I'm fine" she confirmed.

"I'm sorry, I didn't-I didn't mean to do that" Isaac apologised.

"I'm okay" Ally repeated.

He looked at me. "I'm fine" I answered.

"I'm so sorry" he sat down and out his head in his hands.

I bent down next to him, squeezing his hand.

"It's not his fault" Allison told Scott.

"I know. I guess now we know they want to do more than get you angry.
They want to get someone hurt" He said.

"So are we gonna do something?" I asked.

"Yeah" Scott said. "I'm gonna get them angry. Really angry"

~

As soon as I heard the roar of an engine, I hopped out of my seat.

Students flooded from all classrooms into the corridor.

"You have got to be kidding me" Miss Blake said, noticing the twin, Aiden, by his bike. "You realise this is gonna result in a suspension"

I turned to look at Isaac, Scott and Allison who all had smirks on their faces.

Aiden glared at us as and I couldn't help but laugh.

As we headed back into our classes, the bell, signalling the end of the day, rang.

I gathered up my things and headed out of the door.

"I'll see you tomorrow" Allison smiled at me.

"Yeah, see you"

Within ten minutes, the corridors were pretty much empty as Scott, Isaac and I walked down them.

"Yeah, I wish I could have seen their faces. Did they look seriously pissed? Isaac asked.

"Yeah" Scott laughed.

"Kind of like that" I said, spotting the two twins in front of us.

They both started pulling their shirts off and I turned to look at Scott who had the same 'wtf' look written on his face.

One twins crouched onto the floor and the other punched his pack, his fist going through. And soon enough, their bodies merged into each other to form one giant alpha.

"Holy mother of god" I mumbled, staring at the giant alpha in front of me.

"We can take him" Isaac said, throwing his bag onto the floor and rolling his sleeves up.

The alpha roared at us.

"Are you kidding?" Scott exclaimed, already moving backwards.

"Isaac!" I grabbed his arm, pulling him along with Scott and I before we got eaten alive.

The boys suddenly stopped running and I turned around to see that the alpha had picked both of them up by the back of their necks.

"Hey!" I yelled up at the twins.

They bashed Scott and Isaac together and threw them on the ground.

I started to move forwards, ready to attack from behind.

"Shay! Don't!" Scott yelled out to me.

The twins gave one last roar and as soon as that sound fizzled out, I heard the noise of a walking stick of some kind.

A man walked up to the twins and the two of them changed back.

The man stood in front of them took the top off of his stick, showing a sharp object. He then lifted it up and swiped it across the twins faces.

I frowned in confusion, backing up slightly.

The man then pushed past the twins and started to walk off. A moment or two passed and then the twins followed.

I made sure to move well out of their way as they all walked past me.

"What the hell is that" Isaac asked, staring after them.

"Deucalion" Scott replied.

~

"I still can't get over their faces" I laughed as Isaac and I entered the loft.

"I'm still freaking out about the whole merging into one thing" Isaac said, pulling the door down behind him.

"Ah, no biggie. We can just run away from them again" I shrugged.

We both laughed again until we saw Derek stood with a stern look on his face and his arms crossed.

"This doesn't look good" I muttered.

"You need to leave" he threw a bag of Isaac's things on the floor.

Isaac looked at me with confusion written on his face. I mirrored his expression.

"What?" I asked.

"You need to leave" Derek repeated.

"Ah I don't get it. Look, did something happen?" Isaac questioned my brother.

"It's just not gonna work with three of you here. I've got Cora now. It's too much. I need you out tonight" My brother answered, staring out of the window.

"Derek you can't do this" I argued.

"If you don't like it, you can leave too"

"Where am I supposed to go?" Isaac asked.

"Somewhere else"

"Did I do something wrong, Derek?"

"You're doing something wrong right now by not leaving"

"Derek, this isn't fair. You can't just kick him out" I said.

"Oh, come on" Isaac said.

"Just get out" Derek snapped.

"Derek, please" Isaac pleaded.

"Get out!" He shouted. "Go!"

My brother turned around and threw a plate. It hit the beam, right above Isaac's head, and smashed into pieces.

Isaac scoffed and snatched up his things as he left the room, slamming the door shut behind him.

"What the hell is your problem!" I shouted. "You know he used to be abused by his father, right? And he looks up to you like a father figure and you've just gone and done that" I snapped.

"I didn't mean-"

"You complete and utter asshole! I can't even look at you" I said in disgust as I pulled open the door and stepped out of it, slamming it shut much louder than Isaac did.

The rain was heavy and I immediately got drenched as I stepped outside.

"Isaac!" I yelled, spotting him a little up ahead of me. "Isaac!"

He stopped walking and I ran over to him.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Are you okay?"

"What do you think?" He snapped.

"Look, I don't know what's wrong with Derek and I'm going to try to talk to him when the urge to stab him has disappeared" I said, offering Isaac a small smile.

"I don't know where to go" he said, his voice wobbling a little.

"Hey, it's okay" I pulled him into a hug.

Once we stepped away, Isaac wouldn't meet my eyes.

"I'm sure Scott will let you stay at his for now" I suggested.

Isaac shrugged. "I guess"

"Do you want me to drive you there?"

"I'm fine. I'll walk"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I need to clear my head anyway" He looked down at his shoes.

"Hey" I said. He looked up at me. "I love you, okay?"

He gave me a sad smile. "I know"

I stood on my tiptoes slightly and pressed my lips to his.

He placed his hands on my waist and I wrapped my arms loosely around his neck.

We both pulled away, resting our foreheads against each others.

"I can't believe we just kissed in the rain. How cliché" I laughed.

Isaac smiled. "I love you"

"I love you too"
