"So when did you get there?" Mr McCall asked.

"At the same time" I replied.

"At the same time as who?"

"At the same time as me" Scott said.

"By coincidence?"

I narrowed my eyes at him and leant forwards. "What do you mean coincidence?"

"That's what I'm asking you. The two of you arrived at the same time. Was that coincidence?"

"Actually the three of us. I arrived at the same time too" Stiles cut in.

"Are you asking me?" I asked, ignoring Stiles.

"I think he's asking me" Scott said.

"I think he's asking the both of you" Lydia said.

"Okay, let me answer the questions" Mr McCall said. Then he sighed. "Let me ask the questions. Just so I have this absolutely clear. Barrow was hiding in the chemistry closet at the school. Someone left him a coded message on the blackboard telling him to kill Kira. Then Barrow took Kira to a power substation and tied her up with the intent of electrocuting her, which blacked out the entire town"

"Sounds about right" I shrugged.

"How did you know he'd take her to a power station?"

"Well, 'cause he was an electrical engineer. So where else would he take her?" Stiles said.

"That's one hell of a deduction there, Stiles"

"Yeah, what can I say? I take after my pops. He's in law enforcement" Stiles winked at Sheriff Stilinski, who laughed and covered it up as a cough.

"Stiles, just, uh- Just answer the man"

Stiles turned back to Mr McCall "We made a good guess"

"What were the two of you doing?" He looked at Scott and Kira.

"Eating pizza" Scott replied at the same times as Kira had replied.

"Eating sushi"

They both glanced at each other.

"Eating sushi"

"Eating pizza"

"Eating sushi and pizza" They said in unison.

Mr McCall turned to Stiles' dad.

"You believe this?"

"To be honest, I haven't believed a word Stiles has said since he learned how to speak. But I think these kids found themselves in the right place at the right time and that girl sitting there is very lucky for it" The Sheriff replied.

"Kira, is that how you remember it?"

The four of us sat forwards to look at her.

"Yes. Could I get my phone back now?"

"Sorry, but no. Kira, a deputy is going to take you home. But we'll need you to fill out some paperwork first"

I sighed and sat down on one of the seats, waiting for Derek's text to tell me he's here.

"Scott I don't know why you guys are lying. Or why Stilinski is content to listen to this crap. But try and remember something. If half this story about Barrow is true, then not only did someone help set him loose, but he was a pawn in their little game. A mass murderer is bad enough. A mass murderer being controlled by someone? Far worse" Mr McCall said.

"Yeah, I get it"

"All right, go home. It's a school night"

My phone buzzed and I shot Scott a smile before leaving and getting in Derek's car.

I had skipped school and was alone as Derek and Peter were out and busy.

I heard the front door open and I frowned.

They weren't supposed to be back yet.

Slowly, I left my room and stepped out, catching the scent of one of the twins.

"Aiden" I sighed.

"Shay" he smiled.

"Get out"

"That's no way to treat a guest"

"Aiden get the hell out of here" I snapped.

"I want to ask for a favour"

I laughed. "Favour? Right. How about no"

"Please. I just need to borrow the loft for a party. Derek's going to be out, right? I'm just trying to do something nice for a friend"

"What friend?" I laughed. "And yes Derek is going to be out but you're not throwing a party here" I said sternly.

"It's for Danny. It's his Halloween party but he can't find a location to host it at"

"For Danny? Why didn't you say in the first place" I smiled clapping a hand on his shoulder.

"Wait so that's a yes?"

"Of course" I smiled. "But only because it's for Danny"

Aiden grinned. "You're the best. I would hug you but I'm kinda scared you might break another bone of mine"

I laughed. "Yeah, wise decision"

"Well I've gotta go. We'll be back to set up soon"

Ethan, Aiden and Danny all returned a while later.

"Where did you say the guy was who lives here?" Danny asked Ethan.

The two of us shared a look.

"He's out of town" Aiden replied.

Danny nodded and went to set up decorations.

"If he comes back earlier than usual, you are so taking the fall for this" I whispered to Aiden.

"Hang on. You were the one that gave me permission"

I shrugged. "Not my problem"

"Okay 50/50 blame. Deal?"

"90% you and 10% me and you've got yourself a deal" I said.

He groaned.

"Cool. Well I'm going to get ready. Have fun setting up"

"It just showed up there on my key ring this morning. I asked my dad if he put it there but he said he didn't know anything about it" Stiles explained to us.

Him, Scott and Kira had arrived at the party a little while ago.

"It's just a key, right?" Scott said.

"Yeah, but it's not mine. And I don't know how it got there or what it's for.

"You want to leave so we can figure it out?" I asked.

"Uh-"

"Happy Halloween!" A girl kissed him and I burst out laughing.

"It can wait. It can wait" He glanced at us and then headed off after the girl.

"Well I'll leave you two alone" I said to Scott and Kira, shooting Scott a wink.

I looked around but I couldn't find anyone else.

So I sat.

Alone.

For like an hour.

And within that hour I watched Allison and Isaac appear together.

"Hey!" Stiles grinned, grabbing my hands and pulling me up.

"What are you doing?" I laughed.

"You're going to stop looking like a sour wolf and are going to start dancing with me and actually having some fun" he said, leading me into the crowd.

"Stiles, I don't dance" I said, still looking over at Isaac and Allison.

He rolled his eyes. "Come on" he said. Then he looked over to where my gaze was. "Look, do you wanna show him you're having a good time. Make him see what he's missing out on"

"He's painting her body" I pointed out.

"And you're dancing with me" Stiles put his hand on my waist and the two of us started to dance to the beat of the music.

I sighed and stopped dancing, feeling self conscious. "He's looking over"

"Kiss me" Stiles blurted.

I almost choked.

"Are you drunk?"

"No. Yes. Maybe. Probably" he rambled. "But you want to make him jealous, right?"

"Yeah, I guess" I said with a shrug.

"Is he watching?" Stiles asked.

I looked over to see that Isaac was in fact looking over.

"Yeah"

The next thing I know, Stiles' lips were pressed against mine.

My eyes widened in shock but I kissed back nonetheless.

The two of us pulled away and I looked over at where Isaac was before to find that he had gone.

"Oh god never again" I said, wiping my lips.

"Come on, I'm not that bad of a kisser" he defended.

I pulled a face.

Stiles scoffed and I laughed.

"You know, you're right. I need to have some fun" I said.

"Yes!" He exclaimed.

"Let's dance"

I regretted saying that, obviously, after Stiles pulled out some horrific dance moves.

However, I took one glance over to my left to see Allison and Isaac kissing.

It felt like time had stopped completely.

I stopped dancing.

I stopped smiling.

I felt like I couldn't breathe.

"Shay?" Stiles' voice rang in my ears. "Shay?"

I blinked, feeling a dizzy spell come over me.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I, uh, need to get out of here" I pushed my way through the bodies and into a quieter room.

I sunk down to the floor, trying to catch my breath.

I heard a sound and snapped my head up.

There was a flash of darkness but it disappeared as quick as it had come.

I frowned.

Then I heard the noise again.

I looked up to see five different people dressed in black cloaks.

I stood up and instinctively flicked my wrists, showing my claws.

"What do you want?" I demanded.

One of them came closer to me.

"I said what do you want!"

It pressed its hand against the side of my face and I let out a scream.

And then everything went black.

"She's freezing"

"What happened to her"

"Lydia?"

"She's freezing too. Practically hypothermic"

"Shay can you hear me?"

"We gotta get them inside. Help me"

"Over here. There's a heating vent.
I'll try to find a blanket"

I opened my eyes and took a deep breath.

"They just appeared" I said slowly.

"Who?" Danny asked.

"They came out of the dark" Lydia whispered, tears rolling down her face.

I turned to Aiden. "Find Scott" I said. "Find him now"

I heard Derek's voice booming and I swore under my breath.

He's back.

Shit.

As everyone legged it out of the party, Aiden and I stopped, both noticing the black shadowy figure appearing.

Allison and Isaac came out too, holding Ethan up.

Scott and Kira came down from the stairs and paused.

"Guys, they're all looking at me. Why are they all looking at me?" Aiden said. "Guys?"

I growled and charged forwards at the exact same time as Scott and Derek did.

I jumped in the air and kicked one of them. It dived out of the way.

I swung my arm across, hoping to catch it with my claws but it dodged me perfectly.

I kicked my leg up and jumped, trying to twist it's head.

But it just got even more powerful and threw me against a wall.

I groaned in pain, unable to get up.

Through my blurred vision, I watched as they got closer and closer to Aiden.

Isaac stepped out, flicking his wrists.

The figure in black turned around and literally pulled a sword from it's chest.

"Somebody do something!" Allison said as they grabbed Aiden.

I tried to push myself up but failed.

I heard the sizzle of something and then Aiden fell to the floor.

Then they turned to Scott, who stood up, growling, and started to back into a corner, protecting Kira.

I desperately tried to push myself onto my feet, eventually succeeding as I came up behind them.

"Hey!" I yelled as I flicked my wrists, extending my claws.

They turned their heads to face me slowly.

Then I noticed the sun shining through the window.

And they just disappeared into the air.

They vanished.

I turned to the others.

"What the hell were those things?"
