Alpha Pact

"She's dying, isn't she?" Isaac asked Derek.

"I don't know" My brother replied.

"So what are you gonna do?" I said, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I don't know"

"Want to figure something out? Because while Scott and Stiles were out there trying to help people from being killed, you were in here, rolling around the sheets with the actual killer" Isaac snapped.

"Do you get how many people she's killed?" I added.

"Erica and Boyd are dead, Cora is dying, and you are doing nothing!" Isaac yelled. "Why'd you do this to us, Derek? Was it all about the power? Were you bored?" He moved closer. "Were you lonely?"

"Maybe" my brother replied coldly. "I told Cora I wouldn't leave. I'll help the others when I figure out how to help her"

"There's no time!" Isaac yelled. "The full moon's coming. The sheriff and Melissa are gonna be dead, so I'm gonna try and help them" he pulled open the door. "You can sit here and perfect the art of doing nothing" Isaac walked out and slammed it shut behind him.

"I wouldn't take it personally" My uncle spoke up, descending the stairs. "Anger is just a tool. He's using it to excuse shifting allegiance from one Alpha to another. From you to Scott"

I scoffed. "I cannot believe you two are discussing Isaac being angry over the fact that Scott has gone with Deucalion, Jennifer has taken Melissa and the Sheriff to be ritually sacrificed and Cora dying!" I shouted.

"I can't leave her" Derek protested.

I looked over at Peter who just shrugged.

"You're both as bad as each other" I snapped, leaving the loft in the same way that Isaac did. Only, I slammed the door shut louder.

Isaac was stood round the corner.

"Hey" he said. "We should talk"

"We should find Scott" I said.

"Let's do both"

I sighed and we both headed to my car.

We sat in silence for a couple of minutes as I started driving to Stiles' house.

"So" Isaac started.

"Wanna tell me about you and Allison?" I asked.

"There is no me and Allison" he defended.

"Oh, really? Because that's not what it looks like to me?"

"You think I'm in love with Allison?" He frowned.

"I don't know, Isaac! You've been with her countless amounts of times and you never answer your phone"

"You think I'd cheat on you?" He laughed. "Look let's just go to the Argent's and-"

I turned to face him. "Are you serious? You want to go and see Allison?"

"Shay!" He yelled.

I turned my attention back to the road where a car had suddenly stopped. I panicked and swerved into the side of the road.

"Are you okay?" Isaac asked as I closed my eyes, my heart beating at least a million miles per hour.

"No, Isaac. I am not okay!" I snapped.

"What the hell is your problem, Shay?" He shouted back.

"My problem? You know what Isaac just go, get out!"

"Shay-"

"Get out!" I screamed.

He huffed and opened the door.

"You're not the girl I fell in love with"

"Really? I'm not? Well fine, Isaac. We're done. Congratulations you got Allison"

"Shay this isn't you talking it's-"

"Go!"

He angrily stepped out of the car and slammed the door shut again.

I rested my head against the seat and took deep breaths.

I could feel my heart rate spiralling out of control.

"Find something that pulls you back. That one thing that can bring you back" my mother's voice rang in my head.

Isaac was the thing that brought me back.

I've lost him.

I don't have anyone.

~

My phone buzzing by my ear was what brought me out of my deep sleep.

"Hello?"

"Shay. Where are you?" Lydia asked.

"Um-" I sat up and looked around. I was parked in a parking lot. Somewhere. "I don't actually know"

"Can you get to the school?" She asked.

School?

What time is it?

I sighed. "Yeah, I guess"

"Great. See you soon"

I hung up and started up the car. Luckily, I spotted the signs directing me back to the school and got there in ten minutes.

Lydia had text me seconds ago saying her and Stiles were heading to Morrell's office.

"Are you here for Ms. Morrell?" I asked a girl who was sat waiting.

"No, I thought this was gym class" she sassed.

"Sweetheart, we're not in the mood for funny" I heard Lydia say from behind me. "Do you know where she is?"

"If I did, I wouldn't be waiting here for 20 minutes. So how about you three back out the door and wait your turn?"

"We're not here for a session" Lydia said.

"Well, I am. And I've got some serious issues to work on" the girl replied.

"Hey, wait, wait. You're Danielle.
You're Heather's best friend" Stiles said.

"I was Heather's best friend. We've been working on that issue three times a week" Danielle answered.

"Hold on, did you say Ms. Morrell's 20 minutes late?" I asked.

She nodded. "And I don't know why either. She's always on time"

"I was seeing her at the beginning of the semester. She was never late" Lydia added.

"Then she's not late" Stiles started.

"She's missing" I finished.

"What if we're not the only ones who think she knows something?" Lydia said.

I looked over at her desks. "Then I want to know what she knows"

Stiles and I both moved forwards and started pulling open draws.

"What are you doing?" Danielle asked.

"Trying to find her" Stiles replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Those files are private" Danielle argued.

"Yeah, she's kind of right" Lydia said.

"That one's yours" I held hers out.

"Let me see that" she snatched it out of my hand.

"Wait, Lydia, that's your drawing" Stiles said.

"Yeah, I know. It's a tree"

"Yeah, good too" Danielle commented.

"Thank you"

I turned around to look at the drawing.

"No. But that's the same one, though" Stiles said.

"Same as what?" She asked.

"The same one I always see you drawing in class" I said.

"It's a tree. I like drawing trees" she shrugged.

"No, but it's the exact same one.
Don't you see?" I put the two identical drawings next to each other.

"Give me your bag" Stiles said. She handed it to him and he rifled through, eventually pulling out her sketchbook. "There, see?" He said, showing another.

Lydia frowned as she started to flip through the pages. Each showing the same drawing.

"Okay, you can have my session. You got bigger issues" Danielle said before leaving.

"What is this?" Lydia asked nervously.

Stiles turned the drawing upside down and I suddenly recognised it.

"I know where they are" I blurted, ushering the two of them out of the door.

"It's the Nemeton" Stiles said as we walked out. "That's where she's keeping them. It has to be" he said.

"Stilinski!" I heard someone call out.

"Agh. All right, look, go to Derek, okay? He and Peter, they've been there before, so they'll know where it is. Tell them it's the root cellar, all right? They'll know" Stiles said before leaving Lydia and I.

"There's no point" I told Lydia as we headed to my car.

"What?"

"There's no point going to Derek's. My mom knew how dangerous it was and wiped his and Peters memories. They have no idea where it is" I explained.

"Then how are we supposed to find them?" Lydia questioned.

I bit my lip. "I think I have an idea"

~

Lydia and I headed to Deaton's where we met Allison, Isaac, Scott and Stiles.

Stiles, Scott and Allison volunteered to be sacrificed for their parents in order to find the Nemeton.

Brave, brave people.

So now I'm filling a tub with ice, thankful that I'm not in their position.

"What did you bring?" I heard Deaton ask.

"Um, I got my dad's badge. Jennifer kind of crushed it in her hand, so I tried hammering it out a bit. Still doesn't look great" Stiles answered.

"Well, it doesn't need to look good if it has meaning" Deaton said.

"Is that an actual silver bullet?" Isaac asked Allison.

"My dad made it. It's kind of a ceremonial thing. When one of us finishes learning all the skills to be a hunter, we forge a silver bullet as a testament to the code"

"Scott?" Deaton turned to face him.

"My dad got my mom this watch when she first got hired at the hospital. She used to say it was the only thing in their marriage that ever worked" he replied.

"Okay, the three of you will get in.
Each of us will hold you down until you're essentially well, dead. But it's not just someone to hold you under. It needs to be someone who can pull you back, someone that has a strong connection to you, a kind of emotional tether" Lydia smiled at Allison and started to walk over to her. "Lydia" Deaton said. "You go with Stiles"

I smirked. Deaton ships it too.

"Are you sure? I mean, Scott and I both have to go under" Allison said. Her and Isaac then shared a glance.

My heart sunk completely.

"It's okay" Scott said with a sad smile.

He then looked over at me.

The three of them headed over to the tub and gently lowered themselves in. They all gasped at the freezing temperatures.

"By the way, if I don't make it back and you do, you should probably know something" Stiles said to Scott.
"Your dad's in town"

Deaton gave me a nod and I placed my hand on Scott's shoulders.

I took a deep breath and pushed him down until he was under the water.

Everything was silent.
