                             I was walking around the field at camp Leigh with Agent Carter and surveying the boys who had enlisted for getting involved in the Project rebirth. Out of the blue, I saw a very familiar face in the crowd and my heart skipped a beat as it turned out to be none other than Steven Grant Rogers, my best friend for almost a decade (and my secret crush. Don't get it wrong but I had been caring for steve ever since we became friends. I came to know another side of him which I had never seen. Which led to me falling in love with him. I wanted to tell him before I left but as fate would have it I did not). I managed to catch his eye and gave him a wave and a how-the-hell-did-he-get-here look. I loved and respected him (as a friend) but given his health condition, I wouldn't exactly let him enlist in the army. But once Steve is determined, no force in the universe can stop him. 

                            I and Peggy stopped in front of a recruit, Hodge. Peggy called him forward and ordered him to step forward. Given the fact that Peggy had a slight British accent, the guy spoke," I didn't know that we were signing up for the British army, Queen Victoria." I was smirking at the thought of what was about to happen to him. The jerk continued," I've got some moves you'll like, baby." At that comment, Peggy punched him hard in the face. I glanced at Steve who seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself at this spectacle. I gave him a Cheshire cat grin and shot Peggy with a meaningful look that said you-beat-me-by-one-second.  At that moment, Colonel Phillips appeared in his usual grumpy demeanor. 

He addressed Peggy," Already breaking the candidates agent Carter, I see."

                         And then ordered Hodge to get off his ass and stand straight. I went to join Dr. Erskine as Peggy conducted the training. I was assisting Dr. Erskine and was curious to know more about his serum and having some medical knowledge, I could understand him clearly. I was waiting for the evening to have a little chat with Steve.

                     I saw Chris seated at a table in the cafeteria. She motioned me to join her. I collected my dinner and joined her. 

I spoke," It's good to see you here Chris but how did you manage to get here? You were supposed to be with the 107th as a nurse."

                    She saw my confusion, took a deep breath and launched into a lengthy tale of how one day there weren't enough men one day to bring in the injured from the field and how she volunteered to bring them in. Turns out, it was an ambush and she was shot twice. At this point, I was shocked and concerned about her (as a friend). She ate some food from her plate and drank some water when even Miss Carter joined us. 

                  Chris continued further," After agent Carter here offered me a chance to become an agent, I trained hard for the next two months. We had to report back to Brooklyn where we assisted Dr. Erskine with the selection of a candidate for the project rebirth. That was the exact reason why I am here. I have also managed how to learn to fly an airplane, courtesy of Mr. Howard stark. It all began with an incident in Sicily, Italy where I had been previously stationed as a nurse and before the ambush episode took place. I was still serving as a nurse when we had been running out of supplies-ammunition and medical as well. We did not have enough men to fly and bring in the supplies. 

                            Howard Stark had come to supervise our unit as we were facing heavy odds and did not have enough arms to counter it. I had been observing Mr. Stark for quite a while, given his reputation and one day managed to hit the jackpot. I caught him kissing a nurse at the back of the trucks. Colonel Phillips was already furious with him because he was caught with another nurse doing something which I am not allowed to say. I grinned triumphantly at him and the nurse ran away the moment she spotted me. Howard Stark stared at me and was quite terrified. I offered him a deal that I will not reveal his adventures (I did know about his other adventures too) to colonel Phillips if he taught me how to fly a plane so that I could also bring in the supplies as well as ammunition.

                              He trained me for about three months and I am quoting him here, He praised me by saying that I was one heck of a pilot but then I joined SSR and here I am after some explosive three months."

                               I felt slightly jealous of Chris but I was proud of her on the whole. I looked at Peggy and asked her," Is this all Howard Stark stuff true?". She answered," To my knowledge, yes." Suddenly, Chris kicked me under the table. I groaned and looked at her. 

She asked me jokingly," You don't trust me, Rogers?"

  "Nope, not one bit."

"Yeah, whatever. How the hell did you end up here?"

                                I then explained here about how I saw an enlisting center in the fair and how I met Dr. Erskine who offered me a chance to get into the army. I also told her that Bucky got drafted in the 107th. I don't know but I felt strangely attracted to agent Carter who was stunning.

                                 After we finished our dinner, I escorted the ladies to their tent and chatted with agent Carter and Chris. I bid goodbye to Chris and Peggy. Chris gave me a peck on the cheek and made me blush tomato red. I walked back to my tent. Even when I went off to sleep, I kept thinking about further training for the week and (surprisingly) agent Carter.
