Chapter Five

I woke up to cold floors and loud noises. Where am I? I tried covering my ears with my paws, but the noises weren't any quieter. I opened my mouth to yowl for it to stop. No sound came out. What the mousedung is wrong with me?! I scratched at the cold surface frantically, trying to get out of this place. I heard the loud, rattling noise die down, but the ground was trembling with loud thumps. A strange, garbled noise called out.

"Kitty? You awake?"

A large twoleg walked out in front of me, looking at me with big green eyes. It reached out a paw to grab me, but I pushed myself to the back of the cold surface. I tried to hiss, but, again, nothing came out. Why can't I meow or yowl?! I scrunched up to the hard surface, trying to get out.

"It's okay! Stop!"

I stopped moving, staring at the twoleg. It slowly reached to the cold surface, grabbed and pulled something, and opened the hard surface. It reached a paw out to me, but I swatted it with outstretched claws. It hissed and yanked it's paw back. I grinned in triumph before it came back with two paws. It grabbed me, quickly putting me on another cold surface, yet it wasn't enclosed. I ran behind the closest thing. It was dark and cramped, but safe.

"Kitty? Where'd you go? Aren't you hungry?"

I just wanted to lie there, but something told me this twoleg didn't want to hurt me. I slowly stalked out and looked around. I saw a nest, but it was really fluffy and cream. My nest was always green. I saw two dips in two small hills. It looked like something was in them. I slowly walked over to the hills, sticking my nose into one of them. I lapped up the water, relishing the cool touch in my throat. A loud noise came from behind me.

"Good kitty! You found the water bowl!" And then a quieter voice. "I really need to give you a name, don't I?"

I cautiously padded over to the twoleg, nuzzling into its leg slowly. It looked sad. The twoleg looked down and snatched me up again. No! Put me down! I tried to wriggle out if its grip, but it was no use. Foxdung. It held me far away from its head, both paws underneath my forelegs.

"Hmm. I think I'll call you Storm. You look like fog in front of dark clouds."

I froze. What'd she just call me?

"Yes. Storm it is."

Wha-? How? How does she know my name? But its my name, shouldn't I be happy? I tried to get the twoleg to set me down, and they listened. I walked back over to the water bowl and drank a little more. Once I was satisfied, I tried looking for a way out. The twoleg looked over at me, tilting its head the slightest.

"You can't go outside, Storm. You have a litterbox."

What's a littlerbox? What's it used for? The twoleg grabbed me and started walking. No! I want to go back home, out there! Not in here! I just slumped in her arms. Great. It is going to take a long time until Moonhigh. The twoleg sat me down by a cave, a stinky one at that. It pushed my rump towards one of the cave walls. Stop! That'll hurt! I tried to wriggle out, but they pushed my head into the cave wall. The wall moved. Okay, what exactly is going on here? I can't meow anything, and now I'm going through cave walls? I guess I'll just lay my dirt in here. I did as I thought, and pushed against the cave wall yet again.

"Yes! Good job, Storm! Good kitty! Come on, you want to go to bed?"

I had no idea what the twoleg said, but I followed them. They patted the fluffy nest and sat down.

"Lay down."

I followed the noise and sat on the cream nest. It was actually quite comfortable. In no time, I had fallen asleep with the twoleg right next to me. This might be that bad at all.

Spirit here! I'm sorry this is late, I'm just really busy lately. I haven't started the next chapter, so it'll probably be late as well. How do you like it so far, though? Please tell me in the comments! ~Spirit
