Prologue
Attention! I am not trying to plagiarize the Warriors series. This story is a fanfiction and if Erin Hunter happens to see it, it is just an idea.
Spots took a deep breath. This was it. After moons of watching how the Clans did things, they were ready to ask them if they could join them- start a Clan.
The Clanwatchers had been watching the Clans for a long time, learning how they acted and did things, spying on them. Now, they had gathered enough information to ask the Clan leaders if they could start a new Clan.
Spots could feel Lion's presence before he saw him. "Are we ready?" Lion asked.
Spots hesitated a moment before replying. "Yes," he meowed softly.
Together, Spots and Lion gathered all the cats. They then set off, into the forest.
Their plan was to approach from the trees, so they wouldn't be spotted. But they were nowhere near the RiverClan camp, so there wouldn't be any cats out.
The full moon was high in the sky as Spots and the rest approached the shore of the lake. The moonlight cast white beams of light on the water.
"Let's do this!" Berry yowled from the back of the group.
"Berry, be quiet!" Sunny mewed quietly. "We don't want to alert RiverClan. We're in their territory, after all."
"There's a Gathering going on," Spots heard Orchid mew in a puzzled voice. "They'll all be at the island."
"Not all of them," Spots reminded her. "Let's get going now." He took a step onto the log bridge that led to the island, then changed his mind and stepped into the water. It would be better to approach the Clans from where they wouldn't be expecting it.

Bramblestar had just finished his report and Blackstar was about to step forward when Jayfeather suddenly called out, "I hear something!"
"Where?" Bramblestar asked. "And what?" It couldn't be foxes or badgers because he didn't see any on the log, and they couldn't swim, as far as he knew. He opened his mouth and closed his eyes, tasting the air. The scent that hit him was not what he expected. Cats! "Cats!" he yowled. "Not from any Clan!"
Below him, the Clans were bracing themselves for an attack, claws unsheathed. Bramblestar unsheathed his claws as well, and for some reason, he looked up. Were those strange shadows silhouettes of cats in the trees? Before he had time to think about this, cats fell from the sky.

Spots dropped from the tree he had been hiding in. He landed next to the amber-eyed tom who was the leader of ThunderClan. The tom looked shocked, but soon snapped out of it and aimed a blow at Spots. Spots, surprised, ducked out of the way.
"Don't you know we didn't come here to fight?" he yowled over the noise of the cats below.
"Why else would you come here?" yowled the leader of ThunderClan.
"Why not?" At this, the tabby tom suddenly stopped trying to claw Spots' ears off and looked at him quizzically.
"Really, why did you come here? And right in the middle of a Gathering! Wait, you wouldn't know what that is." He mumbled the last sentence and Spots could barely make it out.
"Actually," Spots mewed, "we know more than you think we know. We have come to start a Clan."

Bramblestar stood frozen, unable to speak. Start a Clan? Why would they want to start a new Clan instead of joining the others?
He shook his head to clear it, and was able to choke out one word. "Wh-why?"
"I thought you might react that way," the spotted tom mewed. "We've been observing you for moons now."
Extremely creepy, Bramblestar thought. He shuddered.
The spotted cat continued, "We understand it would be safer to live in a group like you. Besides, there were always five Clans in the forest until SkyClan went away."
"Why couldn't you just join another Clan instead of making a new one?" Bramblestar asked.
"We would have to be split up, and we don't want that. Plus, we have skills like SkyClan had," the strange cat answered. "But we climb better, and they jump better, from what I've heard."
Skills like SkyClan, skills like SkyClan. The thought kept echoing through Bramblestar's head, making it spin. Sandstorm had told him a little about SkyClan.
"Bramblestar, you all right? You look like an angry porcupine!" Bramblestar suddenly heard Squirrelflight's voice behind him.
He realized his fur was bristling and quickly forced it down as he mewed, "I'm fine, thanks Squirrelflight."
"Okay, but I thought you might want to be helping your Clanmates instead of standing around," Squirrelflight meowed pointedly.
My Clan! Bramblestar had completely forgotten about ThunderClan and the others. Embarrassed, he turned away from the spotted cat and looked down at the Clans.
He was about to jump down from the Great Oak when Squirrelflight yowled, "Bramblestar! Watch out!"
Bramblestar spun around, and realized Squirrelflight was staring at the spotted tom, fur bristling and claws unsheathed.
"Squirrelflight," Bramblestar began, "this cat told me that these cats are here to start a Clan." He filled her in on what had happened while she was fighting.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Squirrelflight meowed. "Call a meeting!"
Bramblestar looked down at the Clans. "STOP!" he caterwauled at the top of his lungs. One by one, the cats below stopped fighting and looked up at him, curious. When he had their attention, Bramblestar continued, "These cats are not here to fight, believe me. This cat-"
Bramblestar looked at the spotted cat. "Spots," the spotted tom told him.
"Spots has told me they are here to start a Clan." Yowls of shock came from below.
"Why would they start a new Clan?!" yowled Cloudtail.
Bramblestar waited until they had quieted down, then he began to speak again. "I will discuss this with Mistystar, Blackstar, and Onestar. If they agree, we will make arrangements for these cats to start a Clan."
* * *
Spots heard cheers from down below. He heard Berry's voice, and Leaf's, and Moon and Wind's.
He hoped Bramblestar and the others would decide to let them start a Clan. He watched the leaders, huddled together beneath the big tree. The blue furred one glanced up at the moon, shining brightly. They talked for a while, then nodded and returned to the branches of their tree.
Spots held his breath. Next to him, Bramblestar opened his mouth and yowled, "Welcome to the Clans, TreeClan!"
