Chapter 11 - Aftermath

"You did it," Goldenclaw breathed when Frostleaf jumped down from the Highrock. The last remaining rogues have left after their leader was killed.

Bloodfang's body lay on the ground, battered and blood flowing from his wounds. Dragonstar have recovered from losing a life and beckoned the clan to gather.

All of them were injured, and Cliffbird, who had the worst injures, was sitting at the entrance of the medicine cat den. Forestbrook looked ruffled and had a few scratches on her blue and white pelt.

Frostleaf settled down as Forestbrook came to treat her injuries.

"Cats of DragonClan," he announced warily but excitedly. "We have been freed from Bloodfang's threat!"

The clan yowled in relief. "We owe thanks to Frostleaf, who came from other clan to help us defeat a dangerous enemy," Dragonstar dipped his head to her.

They began to call out her name in joy. "Frostleaf! Frostleaf!"

"And we also owe thanks to StarClan, who came because of our faith in them," he mewed.

Dragonstar paused and looked at Frostleaf seriously. "Frostleaf, as thanks of your endless bravery and your willingness to risk your life for DragonClan, we will be allies with your clan."

"Thank you for your kind offer," she mewed. "But how are your cats going to reach my clan in times of trouble?"

Dragonstar smiled. "Special StarClan powers," he replied. "To go back to your clan, go to the Moonpool, and think of where we wish to be. Usage of this can only be done by a loyal cat with faith in StarClan. Today, you have shown that you are worthy to use it at your free will."

Frostleaf felt a pang of excitement. "But before I return to my clan," she mewed. "I wish to stay for one last night here."

When she fell asleep, she found herself in StarClan's hunting grounds. "You did it," Oakblaze purred proudly. "You helped to save a clan that is not your own."

Frostleaf dipped her head in acknowledgement. "Even when all hope seems lost, StarClan have helped me," she mewed.

"Yes, because we believe that you have the kind of faith that DragonClan have," he mewed. "But I wish to tell you to do something before leaving here."

"What is it?" she asked.

"You need to give Bloodfang a proper warrior's burial," Oakblaze mewed firmly. "But I thought he is a traitor," she mewed hesitantly.

He sighed. "He was good once, before his mind was corrupted, making him believe that killing is the only answers to his problem. StarClan have tried to prevent this, but it was too late. Do you understand?"

Frostleaf nodded as she found herself back at her mossy nest.

Bloodfang's body was left far outside the camp after the battle, without any proper burial.

Coalheart and Wingpaw was guarding the camp, and they just nodded as she walked past.

After walking for a while, she found his body. She clawed at the hard clumps of dirt to make a hole.

Frostleaf continued even though her paws felt numb with cold. When the hole was finished, she grabbed Bloodfang's limp body and hurled him into the hole.

She caught a whiff of ThunderClan on his body, but it was very faint. She began to cover the hole, pushing dirt into it.

When she was done, she sighed. There are so many things she still don't know. But she decided to head back to camp instead of standing around thinking.

As Frostleaf walked off, she felt a light breeze and a soft voice that said, "Thank you."

"This is the Moonpool," Dragonstar mewed when they walked past a patch of thorns. He turned to look at her. "Are you ready?"

Frostleaf nodded. "I'm ready."

"Remember, sit near the Moonpool and think of where you wish to go," he reminded her.

She sat down on the cold and smooth stone that surrounded the Moonpool and began to think.

She thought of the ThunderClan camp, well protected from any invaders. Her mind slowly became fuzzy and calm darkness consumed her.

When Frostleaf woke up, she was no longer beside the Moonpool. She was in a bright cavern with a pool in the middle. Suddenly, she knew where she was.

She was inside of Rocktip. The last time the clan had been there, there were sheltering from the floods that could have wiped out the clan.

Frostleaf stretched and walked outside. It was good to be back in ThunderClan territory again.

She decided to hurry as the clan will become more worried very heartbeat. As she padded past familiar places, like the training hollow, she didn't expect a cat to pounce onto her with unsheathed claws.

"Time for sweet revenge!" the tom hissed. It was Longdrop! "Get off me!" Frostleaf snarled furiously. She twisted and knocked him off.

He was momentarily stunned but he pounced again, trying to pin her down. She tried to flung him away but he was too heavy too.

Luckily, a cat pushed Longdrop off her. The newcomer is a white she-cat and she looked like a seasoned warrior but she doesn't smell of any clan.

Longdrop glared at Frostleaf before retreating, without looking back. She turned to the white she-cat and mewed, "Thank you and why are you in ThunderClan territory?"

"My name is Snowy and I wish to join ThunderClan," she mewed. Frostleaf blinked. "I will take you to Brownstar," she decided.

Snowy nodded and followed her to the ThunderClan camp. Frostleaf nervously stepped in, and immediately, Patchheart spotted her.

"Frostleaf! You are back!" he purred. "Safely too!" Specklebreeze came to greet her next, walking rather awkwardly as her belly was bigger when she last saw her.

Silvercloud touched nose with her former mentor and Brownstar looked relieved. "Thanks," Frostleaf mewed. "Brownstar, I wish to talk to you about something."

"Come into my den," the ThunderClan leader mewed.
