"Silverkit, Starkit, Shimmerkit, Crystalkit, Whitekit, Amberkit, and Brightkit, please come forward." 

Moonstar had jumped down from the High Rock to perform the ceremony with the kits on the ground, since they wouldn't all fit on the High Rock at once. Like the apprentices, he waited until the kits were standing in front of him before he continued. First he spoke to the clan.

"To all of the warriors; I apologize if you become mentor to an apprentice twice in a row, we seem to have almost as many warriors as we do apprentices at the moment. So, if you become a mentor again, well...again my apologies." Moonstar turned back to the kits.

"Silverkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Silverpaw. Your mentor will be Flameclaw. I hope Flameclaw will pass down all she knows on to you." Murmurs of both approval and confusion came from the watching clan as Flameclaw padded forward.

"But he just became a warrior!" Silverkit heard someone whisper.

"It would be better to give a warrior who just had an apprentice a new one now than give one to a warrior who was an apprentice right before!" A few murmurs of agreement along with many of confusion followed this statement, but Moonstar ignored them all. Instead, he simply waited for the protests to die down before he began to speak once again.

"Flameclaw, although you just became a warrior, you have shown throughout your training that you are a responsible and hardworking cat, and you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Skyheart, and after his death Darkleaf, and you have shown yourself to be a wonderful hunter and fighter. You will be the mentor of Silverpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her." Flameclaw nodded and touched noses with Silverpaw, trying to hide his excitement.

"I'll do my best." He whispered to Silverpaw. She purred in return.

"I know you will."
